Histoire
History
Au début du 19 ème siècle, la famille Brémond installe son atelier de Confiseur au
36 cours Mirabeau à Aix-en-Provence. La Maison propose alors des calissons
d’Aix ainsi que des confiseries et beaucoup d’autres délices d’épicerie fine.
De père en fils, la MAISON BREMOND a toujours sélectionné rigoureusement
ses matières premières auprès des meilleurs producteurs pour offrir à ses
clients les meilleurs produits.
En 1973, la famille Borrelly reprend le flambeau. Suite à un incendie en 1986,
elle transfère le magasin à la rue d’Italie, où il se trouve encore aujourd’hui,
puis confie l’entreprise, en 1999, à une autre famille aixoise connue : Anne et
Maurice Farine, propriétaires de la Confiserie du Roy René.
La Maison Brémond fils a été reprise, il y a trois ans, par Olivier Baussan et sa
famille, fondateur de l’Occitane en Provence, d’Oliviers & Co. et de l’Ecomusée
l’Olivier en Haute-Provence.
Olivier Baussan, à travers les entreprises qu’il a soit créées, soit reprises
cherche toujours à valoriser durablement un territoire, dans le respect des
savoir-faire des femmes et des hommes qui perpétuent leurs traditions.
Déjà fortement impliqué dans le développement de la lavande, de l’olivier et
de l’amandier, il vous invite aujourd’hui à découvrir la prestigieuse Maison
Brémond.
At the beginning of the 19th Century the Brémond family set up its confectionary workshop at
number 36 in the Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence. At that time the company’s wares included
calissons d’Aix, confectionary and delicatessens.
For generations, the Maison Brémond company has always been able to maintain its commitment
of offering its customers selected raw materials of the very best.
In 1973, the Borrelly family took up the torch. Following a fire in 1986, the shop relocated on rue
d’Italie, where it still is today. Then the Borrelly family retired in 1999 and delegated the company
to another well-known family from Aix: Mr and Mrs FARINE, owners of the Roy René Confectionary.
The Maison Brémond Fils was taken over 3 years ago by Olivier BAUSSAN, founder of L’Occitane en
Provence, Oliviers & Co and the Eco museum of the olive tree in Haute-Provence.
Through the companies that he has either created or acquired, Olivier Baussan has always sought
the long-term enhancement of an area through respect for the know-how of the women and men
who perpetuate its traditions. Already strongly involved in the development of lavender, and of the
olive and the almond, he invites you today to discover the prestigious Maison Brémond.

Christmas collection
Dès les premiers jours de décembre 1830 la famille Brémond s’active pour préparer sa
vitrine de Noël. Il faut qu’elle soit la plus belle car, être sur le cours Mirabeau à Aix-en-
Provence demande l’excellence. À cette époque, ce sont les fameuses pyramides de Noël
qui sont très prisées comme décoration de vitrine ; elles se terminent avec une hélice
qui tourne seule, entraînée par un courant d’air chaud alimenté par des bougies. Madame
Brémond est fière d’avoir réussi sa décoration et les aixois pourront venir nombreux
admirer sa vitrine.
187 ans plus tard, c’est par une explosion de cadeaux que nous souhaitons rendre
hommage aux fondateurs de notre Maison : Calendrier de l’Avent, 13 Desserts du
Noël provençal, récoltes nouvelles d’Huile d’Olive ou de la Truffe Noire, Gibassiers et
Meringues; autant de découvertes que nous sommes heureux de partager avec vous pour
fêter nos traditions provençales.
From the first days of December1830 the Bremond family bustles to prepare its Christmas
shop window. It has to be the most beautiful because its location on the Cours Mirabeau in
Aix-en-Provence demands excellence. At that time it is the famous Christmas Pyramids that
are highly regarded as window decorations. They culminate in a helix which turns unaided, fed
by a warm current of air from candles. Madam Brémond is proud of her successful decoration
and the citizens of Aix come in droves to admire her shop window.
Now, 187 years later, it is with a profusion of presents that we wish to pay tribute to the
founders of our company: an Advent Calendar, 13 Provençal Christmas Desserts, new harvests
of Olive Oil or Black Truffle, Gibassiers and Meringues; so many discoveries that we are happy
to share with you to celebrate our Provençal traditions.
