Je n’arrive pas à travailler alors j’écoute les informations. Le journaliste parle
vite, je pense à la vitesse de ses mots, à la salive qui s’accumule sous sa langue.
Quelques titres : le capitaine du bateau a atteint le rivage malgré la police. Un
père et son fils ont été retrouvés morts sur la rive d’un fleuve. Une femme enceinte
a été poignardée à mort. Un baron de la drogue a été interrogé à l’aéroport.
Des prisonniers se sont révoltés. Un volcan a explosé. Un étudiant a été accusé
d’espionnage. La canicule a tué trois personnes. Les policiers font la grève. Une
partie de l’océan a été envahie par des algues. Une actrice a dénoncé un acteur
pour harcèlement. Vingt-quatre personnes ont été mises en prison. Un orage a
causé des glissements de terrain. Un homme d’affaire s’est suicidé. Une maladie
n’arrête pas de se répandre. Une femme a dénoncé les secrets d’une secte. Un
homme a été accusé de trafic sexuel. Un iceberg n’arrête pas de fondre. Une ville
entière a été exorcisée.
En arrière-plan, quelques oiseaux, l’ascenseur, le bruit du réfrigérateur, quelques
voitures dans la rue. C’est un appartement plutôt silencieux, le bruit n’existe que
parce que j’y fais attention, il existe seulement dans cette description.

I don’t manage to work so I listen to the news. The reporter speaks fast, I think of
the speed of her words, of the saliva accumulating under her tongue.
Some headlines: The captain of a ship has reached land regardless of the police.
A father and son were found dead in the shores of a river. A pregnant woman
was stabbed to death. A drug lord was detained at an airport. Prisoners rioted.
A volcano erupted. A student was accused of spying. Heat killed three people.
Police went into strike. A section of the ocean was invaded by algae. An actress
denounced an actor for harassment. Twenty four people were jailed. Heavy rains
in a town caused landslides. A businessman committed suicide. A disease kept
spreading. A woman revealed the secrets of a cult. A man was accused of sex
trafficking. A glacier kept melting. An entire town was exorcised.
In the background some birds, the elevator, the sound of the refrigerator, some
cars in the street. It’s actually a quiet apartment, noise only exists because I pay
attention, it only exists in this description.
