Mul$-disciplinarity at IPHC (1) q IPHC is supervised by CNRS (French Na$onal Center for Scien$fic Research) and University of Strasbourg. q IPHC is the progeny of one of the earliest Nuclear Laboratory in France: – End of WWII: Ins$tute of Nuclear Research at University of Strasbourg. – 1956: crea$on of the laboratory of Subatomic Research, (CNRS + University of Strasbourg): • Several CockroQ & Van de Graaff. • 5 departments, ofNuclear Physics, You are Biology and Chemistry. here – 2006: IPHC is one of the first French « common laboratory », based on 3 different laboratories: Biology, Chemistry, Physics. 2
Mul$-disciplinarity at IPHC (2) q History: – 2012: building of the cyclotron CYRCE. – 2016: 4 departments, dedicated to defined scien$fic fields • Subatomic Research • Analy$cal Chemistry • Ecology, Physiology and Ethology • Radiobiology, Hadrontherapy and Molecular Imaging ➛ transversal interdisciplinary projects born from this juxtaposi$on 3
