6. Internationaler Kompositionswettbewerb
                         der Stadt Homburg
              Orchesterlied im XXI. Jahrhundert
Das Homburger Sinfonieorchester richtet in Zusammenarbeit mit der
Stadt Homburg/Saar im Herbst 2023 den 6. internationalen Komposi-
tionswettbewerb der Stadt Homburg aus.
Das übergeordnete Thema des Wettbewerbs lautet: „Orchesterlied im
XXI Jahrhundert“. Eingereicht werden können Orchesterlieder / Werke
für Stimme und Orchester.
Die Stimmlage ist entweder Sopran (a – c‘‘. Keine exponierten Ausflüge
in der hohen Lage sowie keine langen Phrasen bei den tiefsten Tönen)
oder Bassbariton (tiefer Bassbariton, Höhe bis es’ oder e’, punktuell
f’ möglich. Falsett möglich). Texte müssen in römischen Buchstaben
notiert sein. Lautsprache, deutsche oder andere Sprache.

Teilnahmebedingungen: Zugelassen sind Komponistinnen und Kom-
ponisten, die nach dem 1. Januar 1988 geboren sind. Das Werk muss
bisher unveröffentlicht sein.
Die Komposition soll hinsichtlich der Spielbarkeit den Möglichkeiten
eines ambitionierten Amateurorchesters entsprechen.

Dauer des Werkes: ca. 8 Minuten

Die/Der Kandidat(in) reicht jeweils eine Version der Partitur (1) in
digitaler Form (pdf) an info@hkso.de und (2) in schriftlicher Form an:
Homburger Sinfonieorchester, c/o Hans Jakob Schöndorf, Lieselotten-
straße 37, 66424 Homburg, Germany ein. Komplette Stimmensätze
(pdf) werden von den Preisträgern erst nach der Jury-Entscheidung
angefordert (und müssen bis zum 31.7.23 eingereicht werden).

Die Einreichung und die Begutachtung durch die Jury erfolgen ano-
nym. Bei der Einsendung ist daher darauf zu achten, dass der Name
des/der Urheber(in) auf der Partitur nicht erkennbar ist. Die Partitur
ist mit einem Kennwort zu versehen. Der schriftlichen Einreichung
ist ein, mit dem gleichen Kennwort versehener, verschlossener Um-
schlag beizulegen.

Dieser Umschlag enthält folgende Unterlagen:
• Name und Geburtsdatum des/der Kandidaten(in), Anschrift,
     Telefonnummer und Email
• künstlerischer Lebenslauf
• Foto
• Formlose, unterzeichnete Erklärung, aus der hervorgeht, dass
     er/sie das Werk selbst verfasst hat und das vorliegende Werk
     noch nicht veröffentlicht wurde, sowie die Genehmigung an
     das Homburger Sinfonieorchester, das Werk aufzuführen und zu
     senden.

Preise: Es werden 3 Preise vergeben. Die Entscheidung der Jury ist
nicht anfechtbar. Der Rechtsweg ist ausgeschlossen.
Reisekosten (innerhalb von Europa) zum Preisträgerkonzert sowie
Aufenthaltskosten in Homburg werden übernommen.

6ème Concours International de Composition
                   Ville de Homburg / Sarre
      Chant pour voix et orchestre au XXIème siècle
L‘Orchestre symphonique de Hombourg/Saare, en collaboration avec
la ville de Hombourg, organisera 2023 le 6e Concours international de
composition de la ville de Hombourg en automne.
Le thème général du concours est : „Chant pour voix et orchestre au
XXIe siècle“. Les œuvres présentées peuvent être des chansons pour
orchestre ou des œuvres pour voix et orchestre.
Les compositeurs ont le choix entre la tessiture soprano (la - do‘‘. Pas
d‘envolées exposées dans l‘aigu, ni de longues phrases pour les notes
les plus graves), ou la tessiture baryton-basse (baryton-basse grave,
hauteur jusqu‘à mi bémol ou mi‘, f‘ ponctuel possible. Faux-chant
possible). Les textes doivent être notés en caractères romains. Notation
phonétique, langue allemande ou bien une autre langue.

Participation: Tous les compositeurs nés après le 1er janvier 1988 ont
le droit de participer au concours. Seules les œuvres non publiées sont
admises au concours. Le niveau de difficulté doit correspondre aux
possibilités d‘un orchestre d‘amateurs ambitionés.

Durée de l‘oeuvre: environ 8 minutes

Le/la candidat(e) soumettra une version de chaque partition (1) sous
forme numérique (pdf) à info@hkso.de et (2) sous forme écrite à :
Homburger Sinfonieorchester, c/o Hans Jakob Schöndorf, Lieselotten-
straße 37, 66424 Homburg, Germany. Les jeux de voix complets (pdf)
ne seront demandés par les lauréats qu‘après la décision du jury (et
doivent être envoyés avant le 31.7.23).

La soumission et l‘évaluation par le jury seront anonymes. Lors de
l‘envoi, il faut donc veiller à ce que le nom de l‘auteur(e) ne soit pas
reconnaissable sur la partition. La partition doit être munie d‘un mot
de passe. La soumission écrite doit être accompagnée d‘une enveloppe
fermée portant le même mot de passe.

Cette enveloppe contient les documents suivants :
•    Nom et date de naissance du/de la candidat(e), son adresse, son
     numéro de téléphone et son adresse électronique
•    curriculum vitæ artistique
•    photo
•    Déclaration informelle signée attestant qu‘il/elle est l‘auteur de
     l‘œuvre et que l‘œuvre en question n‘a pas encore été publiée. De
     plus, le/ la candidat(e) autorise l‘Orchestre symphonique de Hom-
     bourg de présenter la pièce lors de la création et de la diffuser.

Prix: Trois prix seront décernés. Les décisions du jury sont sans appel
et incontestables. Tout recours juridique est exclu.
Les frais de voyage (en Europe) pour le concert des lauréats ainsi que
les frais de séjour à Hombourg sont pris en charge.

6th International Composition Competition
                   of the City of Homburg / Saar
              Orchestra song in the XXIst century
The Homburg Symphony Orchestra, in cooperation with the City of
Homburg/Saar, is organizing the 6th International Composition Com-
petition of the City of Homburg in the fall of 2023. The overall theme
of the competition is: „Orchestra Song in the XXI Century“. Orchestra
songs / works for voice and orchestra can be submitted.
The vocal range is either soprano (a - c‘‘. No exposed excursions in the
high register, neither long phrases on the lowest notes) or bass-ba-
ritone (low bass-baritone, height up to es‘ or e‘, occasional f‘ possible.
Falsetto possible). Texts must be notated in Roman letters. Spoken
language, German or other language.

Participation: Only work by composers born after January 1st 1988
is eligible to be accepted for the competition. Submission must be
unpublished work. The level of difficulty should be consistent with the
expectations of an ambitious amateur orchestra.

Duration: approx. 8 minutes

The candidate is invited to submit one version of each score (1) in
digital form (pdf) to info@hkso.de and (2) in written form to: Homburg
Symphony Orchestra, c/o Hans Jakob Schöndorf, Lieselottenstraße 37,
66424 Homburg, Germany. Complete sets of parts (pdf) will be reques-
ted from the prize winners only after the jury has made its decision
(and must be submitted by 7/31/2023).

The submission and evaluation by the jury will be anonymous. Therefo-
re, when submitting, please make sure that the name of the author(s)
is not recognizable on the score. The score must be provided with a
password. A sealed envelope with the same password must be enclosed
with the written submission.

This envelope shall contain the following documents:
•     name and date of birth of the candidate(s), address, telephone
      number and email
•     artistic curriculum vitae
•     photograph
•     Informal, signed declaration stating that he/she has written the
      work him/herself and that the present work has not yet been
      published, as well as permission to the Homburg Symphony Or-
      chestra to perform and broadcast the work.

Awards: 3 prizes will be awarded. The decision of the jury is not con-
testable. The legal process is excluded.
Travel expenses (within Europe) to the prize winner‘s concert as well as
accommodation costs in Homburg will be covered.

Nach der Entscheidung durch die Jury im Mai 2023 erfolgt die Ur-
aufführung der Werke der drei Preisträger am 12. November 2023 im
Saalbau Homburg/Saar.
Das Konzertprogramm lautet (vermutlich):
Alban Berg: 7 frühe Lieder (Elisabeth Wiles, Sopran)
Werke der 3 Preisträger (E. Wiles bzw. Frank Woerner, Gesangssolisten)
mit Preisüberreichung
Brahms / Schönberg: Klavierquartett g-moll (Orchesterfassung)

After the jury‘s decision in May 2023, the first performance of the
works of the three prize winners will take place on November 12, 2023
at the Saalbau Homburg/Saar.
The concert program is (presumably):
Alban Berg: 7 early songs (Elisabeth Wiles, soprano).
Works of the 3 prize winners (E. Wiles or Frank Woerner, vocal soloists,
respectively) with presentation of prizes
Brahms / Schönberg: Piano Quartet in G minor (orchestral version)

Après la décision du jury en mai 2023, la première représentation des
œuvres des trois lauréats aura lieu le 12 novembre 2023 au Saalbau
Homburg/Saar.
Le programme du concert est (probablement) le suivant:
Alban Berg: 7 frühe Lieder (Elisabeth Wiles, soprano)
Œuvres des 3 lauréats (E. Wiles ou Frank Woerner, solistes vocaux) avec
remise des prix
Brahms / Schönberg: Quatuor avec piano en sol mineur (version or-
chestrale)
