A RECONSTRUCTED VILLAGE
Loin du tumulte citadin, sur les rives de
la Vézère, le village dévoile ses maisons
entièrement démontées et remontées pierre
par pierre, ou rebâties selon les techniques
et les matériaux d’époque. Les bâtiments
affichent une authenticité qui défie les lois
du temps.
Far from the crowded cities, along the banks of
Vézère River, the village reveals its half-timbered
houses, entirely dismantled and rebuilt stone by
stone, or reconstructed according to traditionnal
techniques with old materials. The buildings just
look like they have always been there.

FROM THE MILL TO THE OLD OVEN
Le moulin du Bournat, domine le village de
ses grandes ailes. C’est sur une meule en
silex que le meunier moud le blé des champs
voisins grâce à l’imposante charpente
rotative en chêne, mue par le souffle
d’Éole. Le boulanger pétrit la pâte avant de
l’enfourner pour une cuisson au feu de bois.
Chaud devant, ça mouline sec !
Le Bournat’s mill, dominates the village by its
large wings. It’s on a millstone made of silex that
the miller grinds the wheat from the neighbouring
fields thanks to the massive rotative oak framework,
moved by the breathe of Eole. The baker kneads
dough before baking it in the wood-fire oven.

d’exception. Leurs lames proviennent de
la maison Thiers Issard, établissement de
qualité fondé en 1884. Notre coutelier monte
chaque pièce à la main et propose une
personnalisation des couteaux. Plus qu’un
souvenir, un objet habité par toute l’âme de
la région.
Le Bournat is proud to have among its local craft
productions exceptional knifes. Their blades
come from the Thiers Issard house, a high-quality
institution founded in 1884. Our cutler assemble
each piece by hand and offer a full customisation
of knifes. More than just a memory, an object
inhabited by the soul of the region.
