SYNOPSIS - Malgré qu'ils ne se soient pas parlés depuis plus de 15 ans, Khalil décide de Scénariste / Réalisateur SRINATH SAMARASINGHE

Né le 9 février 1978, à Téhéran, Iran, d'origine srilankaise, Srinath
Christopher Samarasinghe a grandi à Paris, France. Durant son
enfance, trois évènements vont le marquer et le guider vers le chemin FILMOGRAPHIE / FILMOGRAPHY
qu'il a pris. La mort violente de Monsieur B, voisin octogénaire de son
immeuble qui prenait soin de lui. La disparition de sa grand-mère 2005 Dukkha (3 min.)

(équivalent d'un master) en Réalisation Cinématographique, avec
mention à l'université Paris VIII, Saint-Denis. Cette période lui permet
de belles rencontres, Danielle Jaeggi, Serge Le Péron, Denis Guedj, Sir
Arthur C. Clarke (écrivain et scénariste de «2001, l'odyssée de
! l'espace»)... Son grand-père, ancien projectionniste puis gérant d'un
cinéma au Sri Lanka, lui insufflera définitivement l'envie de raconter
des histoires. Il aborde ses propres questionnements sur les rapports
humains, la vie et la mort, la destinée, le hasard, l'amour et la
violence à travers ses personnages et ses narrations.

Born from Sri Lankan parents in 1978 in Teheran, Iran, Srinath Christopher
Samarasinghe grew up in Paris, France. As a child, three important events
will make a lasting impression on him and guide him to where he is now.
First, the violent death of Mr. B, his octogenarian neighbor, who was taking
care of him. Second, the disappearance of his maternal grandmother. And at
last, the discovery of Jules Verne’s first edition books at Verne’s great
granddaughter’s home. Those three special occurrences will make him want
to tell stories. His grandfather, a former projectionist and movie theater
manager in Sri Lanka, will definitely instill in him the urge to tell stories. He
studied filmmaking and received his master’s with distinction at Paris VIII.
His university years were particularly rich in meaningful encounters like
Danielle Jaeggi, Serge Le Péron, Denis Guedj, Sir Arthur C. Clarke, etc. He now
confronts his own questions on human relationships, life and death, destiny,
fate, love and violence through his stories and their characters.his new
creations from 2012.
