The conference will be held in French with simultaneous translation into English
This conference is part of the project POSBEMED2, a
Euro-Mediterranean cooperation project carried out within
the framework of the Interreg Med program in which the
Région SUD is in partnership with 5 other Mediterranean
countries (Chypre, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Spain). This pro-
ject, which runs from November 2019 to June 2022, aims
to help beach managers to develop more virtuous methods
of managing Posidonia banquettes, to better respect the
functioning of coastal ecosystems and preservation of the
coastline.
The goal of this day is to bring together actors from Region
Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and its Mediterranean partners, in Beach erosion
and Posidonia banquettes :
order to exchange on the practices and the projects in pro-
gress around beach erosion and management of Posidonia
banquettes on Mediterranean beaches.
This conference targets the following public : what are the main issues
• Local elected representatives concerned with coastline
management
in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur ?
• Beach and marine protected areas managers
• Civil servants from local and national authorities (dealing
with environment, nature, urban planning, etc.) or active Érosion des plages

in nature conservation, nature-based solutions, submersion
and erosion issues
• Experts and Universities, coastline engineering consultants
• European partners from POSBEMED2 project quels défis en Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur ?
It will deal 4 main topics:
•Challenge n°1: Knowledge
•Challenge n°2: Change management practices
•Challenge n°3: Stakeholders awareness raising
•Challenge n°4: Coastline management strategies
We will present in particular:
• The Platform « MonLittoral » and its implementation sche-
dule
• Regional and Mediterranean projects dealing with beach
erosion and climate change adaptation
• POSBEMED2 project
