GSK cède une unité allemande à Nexelis
GSK cède à la CRO canadienne Nexelis son laboratoire bioanalytique clinique vaccins CLS (Clinical
Laboratory Science) de Marbourg (Allemagne), qui emploie 80 chercheurs et analystes. L’unité
continuera de soutenir le développement de futurs candidats vaccins de GSK via un accord de
collaboration de cinq ans entre les parties. Nexelis, qui est spécialité dans les tests cliniques pour les
maladies infectieuses, oncologiques et métaboliques, souhaite désormais devenir un opérateur de
référence dans celui des vaccins. Nexelis prévoit d’investir à Marbourg dans de nouvelles plateformes
d’essais cliniques reliées et harmonisées avec celles de Laval (Québec), de développer des synergies
avec sa filiale en Belgique et de faire levier aux talents existants dans des domaines tels que les
biostatistiques afin d’accroître son offre de services en bactériologie, virologie et oncologie.

L’efficacité des vaccins contre la COVID-19 testée à Laval
Il y a l’heure actuelle une soixantaine de différents vaccins contre la COVID-19 qui sont en préparation dans le
monde et c’est à Laval, majoritairement, que l’on teste leur efficacité.
Le laboratoire Nexelis est en mesure de faire ces analyses grâce à des échantillons de sang qui proviennent de
partout dans le monde.
Et pour Luc Gagnon, sommité mondiale dans l’univers de la vaccination, les nouvelles plutôt encourageantes.
«C'est très prometteur. On reçoit des échantillons des différentes phases cliniques, et à ce jour, ce qu'on voit, on
a de très bons résultats, de très bonnes productions d'anticorps», indique celui qui est vice-président Sciences et
vaccins chez Nexelis.
Les résultats sont si bons dans certains cas que les doses doivent être diluées à plusieurs reprises.
«Il y a des vaccins qui sont excessivement forts. Juste vous dire, on a des vaccins qu'on doit diluer des dizaines de
milliers de fois pour avoir le bon résultat», dit-il.
Concrètement, cela signifie «que la quantité d'anticorps qui circulent au niveau de ces sujets-là» est très
prometteuse.
Peu d’inquiétude pour les variants
À ce stade-ci, l’arrivée de nouveaux variants du virus n’est pas la source principale d’inquiétude. On craint plutôt
une pénurie d’approvisionnement.
«Ce qu'on voit, c'est que la problématique va être au niveau de production pour pouvoir courir l'entièreté de la
population mondiale. On peut compter facilement un an avant qu'on puisse avoir suffisamment de vaccins pour à
tout le moins couvrir plus que 50% de la population», explique M. Gagnon.
Et même s’il juge possible que les variants réussissent éventuellement à contourner le vaccin, les manufacturiers
s’affairent déjà à contrer le problème.
«Ils sont déjà en train de discuter pour des phases deux et trois de vaccins, dont des nouvelles versions de ces
vaccins-là améliorées qui pourraient couvrir d'autres variants, qui pourraient avoir une réponse croisée avec
d'autres composantes du virus, de manière justement à éviter d'avoir un variant qui pourrait prendre le dessus»,
précise Luc Gagnon.
D’ailleurs, analyser l’efficacité des vaccins contre les nouveaux variants est l’un des mandats confiés à Nexelis.
Mais la réussite de la campagne de vaccination dépend avant tout des stocks disponibles.
«Si la persistance ne demeure pas, les gens où il y a des variants qui circulent, on risque de se retrouver avec des
épisodes de contamination et des foyers de contamination à certains endroits», explique Benoit Bouche,
président et chef de la direction de Nexelis.
Il faut donc être vigilant et suivre l’évolution du virus partout dans le monde pour éviter le pire, conclut-il.

Une pharmaceutique québécoise se paie un laboratoire allemand
Une pharmaceutique québécoise qui teste et analyse une vingtaine de vaccins contre la COVID-19 met la main sur
un laboratoire allemand pour devenir le numéro un mondial dans le domaine, a appris Le Journal.
«On est passés de 55 employés en 2015 à 360 aujourd'hui. Nos revenus ont explosé, en passant de 8 millions $
US, à l'époque, à plus de 100 millions $ US cette année. On s'achète le laboratoire allemand de 80 cerveaux pour
consolider notre position », explique Benoit Bouche, président et chef de la direction de Nexelis.
Fondée à Laval en 2015, l'entreprise s'est associée trois ans plus tard au fonds Ampersand Capital Partners et a
procédé à une série d'acquisitions, comprenant Pacific Biomarkers, PAIRimmune, ImmunXperts, Gosselies et AIT
Bioscience.
NUMÉRO 1 MONDIAL
Aujourd'hui, la pharma de Laval achète une nouvelle équipe de 80 chercheurs de la Clinical Laboratory Science
(CLS) de Marburg, en Allemagne.
«On devient la plus grosse entreprise au monde dans le développement de méthodes dans le test de laboratoire
pour des vaccins en développement », poursuit Benoit Bouche.
RECHERCHE SUR LES VACCINS
Dans son domaine, Nexelis a désormais quelque 250
chercheurs qui travaillent à temps plein sur les tests de
vaccins sur la planète.
«Il y a 42 vaccins en stade de développement clinique dans le
monde et l'on travaille sur plus de 20 d'entre eux », résume
Benoit Bouche, dont le travail a été souligné par la fondation
Bill & Melinda Gates.
Quand on lui demande pourquoi le Québec est digne
d'intérêt, M. Bouche ne passe pas par quatre chemins : les
cerveaux québécois valent de l'or.
«Il y a un bassin d'emploi ici intéressant. Il y a un coût de la vie
intéressant comparativement à Boston et San Francisco aussi.
On discute d'ailleurs avec le gouvernement pour doubler la
taille de nos installations à Laval d'ici trois ans », conclut-il.

Course aux vaccins – Nexelis devient numéro un mondial

À Laval, la Cité de la biotech abrite une société de recherche contractuelle qui est non seulement impliquée dans la moitié des projets
de développement de vaccins contre la COVID-19, mais qui s’affiche désormais comme «le plus important joueur» mondial en matière
de tests cliniques liés à l’approbation de nouveaux vaccins.
Il s’agit de Nexelis, un prestataire de services auprès d’entreprises pharmaceutiques et biotechnologiques né en 2015 (sous l’ancien
vocable NÉOMED-LABS) à la suite de la fermeture du centre de recherche sur les vaccins que GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) exploitait au 525,
boulevard Cartier.
Acquisition
Le 20 janvier, l’entreprise lavalloise annonçait une importante acquisition, la 5e à survenir au cours des trois dernières années. D’ici la fin
du mois de janvier, le laboratoire de bioanalyse clinique certifié GCLP que détenait GSK à Marburg, en Allemagne, sera la propriété de
Nexelis, qui gonfle ainsi ses effectifs à plus de 360 employés dont près de la moitié œuvrent à Laval.
Composée de quelque 80 scientifiques et analystes, l’équipe allemande continuera à œuvrer étroitement avec le géant phamaceutique
britannique en soutien au développement de futurs candidats vaccins de GSK, et ce, en vertu d’un accord de collaboration stratégique
d’une durée de 5 ans.
«La sous-traitance stratégique permettra à GSK d’accroitre sa capacité de tests et son agilité [et] de continuer à accélérer le
développement des candidats vaccins dans notre pipeline», a indiqué par voie de communiqué Emmanuel Hanon, chef de la R&D de GSK
Vaccins, rappelant au passage «la réussite du transfert d’activités de laboratoire à Nexelis» en 2015.
Part de marché
Depuis 2017, Nexelis aura en moyenne doublé ses revenus chaque année pour atteindre le plateau des 100 M$ US en 2021, indique son
président et chef de la direction, Benoit Bouche. «Le segment de la bioanalytique dans le domaine des vaccins est une niche de l’ordre de
250 M$ et notre part de marché mondiale est supérieure à 20 %», précise-t-il.
COVID-19
Benoit Bouche souligne également que les quelque 150 employés affectés aux laboratoires de Laval sont actuellement mis à contribution
pour les essais cliniques de 20 des 42 projets de vaccin contre la COVID-19 en développement à travers la planète.
En clair, le mandat consiste à valider l’efficacité des candidats vaccins en vue de l’ultime homologation des agences réglementaires, tels
Santé Canada et la Food and Drug Administration (FDA) aux États-Unis. Les méthodes analytiques et les plateformes technologiques de
pointe développées par Nexelis lui assurent une capacité de tests d’échantillons cliniques à très haut débit.
«Notre capacité d’analyse est de 10 à 15 000 tests par jour», illustre M. Bouche en évoquant l’ensemble des laboratoires que l’entreprise
possède dans ses cinq installations en Amérique du Nord et en Europe.
Nouvelles embauches
Entreprise détenue par la société de portefeuille Ampersand Capital Partners, Nexelis a le vent dans les voiles et entend bien poursuivre
son expansion comme en témoignent les 80 nouvelles embauches projetées en cours d’année. «On s’engage à recruter au moins 100
nouveaux chercheurs à Laval dans les 3 années qui viennent, dont 40 en 2021», termine Benoît Bouche.
Dans la foulée de cette expansion à très court terme, le patron de Nexelis est d’ailleurs à évaluer l’occupation d’un second site à la faveur
d’un immeuble vacant de la Cité de la biotechnologie et de la santé humaine.

Why Nexelis is ‘changing the R&D paradigm in vaccines’
Benoit Bouche, President and CEO, Nexelis, told Lu Rahman about the company’s recent acquisition and what it
means for the business and the vaccine sector.
Nexelis is a leading provider of assay development and advanced laboratory testing services in the infectious diseases, metabolic diseases,
and oncology fields. The company – which Benoit Bouche, President and CEO, describes as having “unrivaled expertise in immunology”, has
five operating sites in North America and Europe, and a translational offer of services covering the needs of the pharmaceutical industry
from the lead selection stage to late clinical stage.
“Our versatile team of scientists, working with our state-of-the-art technology platforms, were instrumental in the development,
qualification, validation, and large-scale sample testing of assays that supported the US FDA filing of almost 100 new molecular entities,
including blockbuster vaccines and biologics, anti-viral drugs, immunotherapy, gene, and cell therapy products,” he says.
The company recently announced a five-year strategic agreement for the acquisition of GSK Vaccines GCLP-certified clinical bioanalytical
lab in Marburg, Germany. The Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) team in Marburg, consisting of around 80 scientists and analysts, will be
transferred to Nexelis, while the CLS team in Marburg will continue to keep a strong relationship with GSK and support the development of
future GSK vaccine candidates through the five-year strategic collaborative agreement. The transaction with GSK will be effective at the
end of January 2021. Nexelis intends to quickly expand the Marburg site, initiating collaborations with other vaccine development
companies as well as with the company’s other North American and European sites.
Nexelis expects to add new clinical testing platforms in Marburg that will be fully bridged with Laval platforms, develop synergies with its
early development stage ImmunXperts branch in Belgium and leverage existing talents in fields such as biostatistics to form a broad-based,
end-to-end service offering in bacteriology, virology, and oncology. “This agreement enables Nexelis to develop a global footprint, increase
Nexelis’ capacity in the vaccines field which is currently in high demand, and deepen our scientific expertise.
“Nexelis is the leading provider of bioanalytical services in the vaccines field and demand for these services has skyrocketed since 2020.
Laval, a Nexelis subsidiary based in Quebec, having almost doubled its size in one year is not far from being at full capacity. Although we
are in discussions with the Canadian authorities to double again the size of our Laval site in next three years, this might even not be enough
to answer the global demand. Hence the Marburg acquisition is an opportunity for us to grow our capacity to meet the global demand,
access a second talent pool, and have the capabilities expected by our customers,” reveals Bouche.
He adds that Nexelis’ strategy is to base its very rapid growth on alliances and close partnerships with multinational companies, innovative
biotechnology companies, and prestigious governmental or non-governmental organisations. “Those partners all expect to collaborate
with companies with a global footprint,” he says.
Opportunities ahead
As an expert in his field, Bouche is aware of the market opportunities ahead: “Outside of the business impact of COVID and the explosion
of therapeutic vaccines targeting auto-immune and oncologic diseases, the vaccines market currently has a size of approximately $50
billion. It also experiences a compound annual growth rate exceeding 10%, meaning that the vaccines market will more than double in the
ten years to come.
He says those prospects are based in developed countries on technical improvements opening new vaccination fields (see the mRNA
vaccine technologies used by Moderna and BioNtech in the COVID field) and an increasing capacity to build multivalent vaccines (one single
shot protecting against a series of pathologies).
“The emergence of a company like Nexelis with a global footprint is changing the R&D paradigm in vaccines – an area that used to have
little or no outsourcing initiative. We see the advanced bioanalytical testing segment multiplying its size in a ten year period of time,” he
adds.

Nexelis, a portfolio company of Ampersand Capital Partners, and a leading provider of advanced assay
development and laboratory testing services in the infectious, oncologic, and metabolic diseases fields, has signed
an asset purchase agreement with GSK to acquire its GCLP-certified clinical bioanalytical laboratory located in
Marburg, Germany.
The Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) team in Marburg, consisting of approximately 80 scientists and analysts, will
be transferred to Nexelis. The CLS team in Marburg will continue to keep a strong relationship with GSK and
support the development of future GSK vaccine candidates through a 5-year strategic collaborative agreement.
This is the fifth acquisition by Nexelis in the last three years after Pacific Biomarkers, PAIRimmune, ImmunXperts,
Gosselies and AIT Bioscience. The transaction with GSK enables Nexelis to expand its global footprint as well as its
immunology-centric assay development and high-throughput clinical testing capacities.
Benoit Bouche, Nexelis CEO commented: “We are thrilled to welcome on board new colleagues with a legacy of
over 20 years under Novartis and GSK leadership in clinical laboratory activities supporting the development of
vaccines against viral and bacterial diseases. We believe that this transaction is a determining step in the

Avec le ralentissement de la production chez Pfizer, la nécessité d'homologuer de nouveaux vaccins contre la
COVID-19 demeure un enjeu important. Une entreprise de Laval, Nexelis, joue un rôle clé dans cette recherche de
solutions et des scientifiques de partout dans le monde y testent l'efficacité de leurs vaccins.
Entre 40 et 60 vaccins sont encore en développement clinique. Il y en a la moitié qui est analysée ici, chez Nexelis,
lance fièrement le vice-président de l’entreprise, Luc Gagnon.
La compagnie vient d'acheter un laboratoire similaire en Allemagne, ce qui fait de la société lavalloise un joueur
incontournable dans l'analyse de l'efficacité des vaccins.
Après cette acquisition dont on parle aujourd'hui en Allemagne, c'est devenu la plus grosse société

Pour mesurer l'efficacité des différents vaccins, l'entreprise a développé sa propre méthode.
On reçoit seulement des échantillons qui proviennent des études cliniques, explique Luc Gagnon. […] On mesure
la réponse immune, les anticorps, et ce que l'on veut prouver c'est que les vaccins sont sans danger et donnent le
bon niveau d'anticorps pour protéger les gens.
Si quelques vaccins ont déjà été approuvés, comme ceux de Pfizer-BioNTech et Moderna, plusieurs autres
laboratoires cherchent à faire homologuer leur produit.
On a d'autres vaccins qui vont entrer sur le marché. Et sans divulguer de secret, on voit les résultats
qui passent entre nos mains, même si on est à l'aveugle, on voit que les vaccins fonctionnent très bien.

Née en 2015, l'entreprise qui employait jusqu’à récemment 55 personnes a connu une importante croissance au
cours des derniers mois.
Aujourd'hui, Nexelis est une entreprise de 350 personnes, dont 150 à Laval, avec un plan de recruter 100
personnes de plus, toujours à Laval, et d'ouvrir un laboratoire dans un nouvel immeuble.

américains et européens de l'entreprise.

GSK, Novartis kick off collaboration to explore how genetic diversity in Africa impacts treatment response.
LONDON—A collaboration is now underway between GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Novartis supporting high-quality research investigating
how genetic diversity across different regions in Africa could impact patients' responses to drug therapeutics. The project—Africa Genomic
Research Approach for Diversity and Optimising Therapeutics (GRADIENT)—will have a combined funding commitment of GBP 2.8m (USD
3.6 million) over the course of five years, and is soliciting research proposals from African researchers on how African genetic diversity
impacts treatment for malaria and tuberculosis.
“At GSK, human genetics is a core pillar of our R&D strategy. Genetic diversity is greater in Africa than in any other continental population,
resulting in some African patients having varying response to treatments,” said Pauline Williams, senior vice president of Global Health
Pharma at GSK. “We are excited to launch Project Africa GRADIENT which aims to catalyze the best science in the continent to optimize
treatment responses for malaria and tuberculosis, two infectious diseases that disproportionately affect African populations.”
“Novartis has a long-standing commitment to improving and extending the lives of patients around the world. Our efforts include seeking
innovative ways to improve the standard of care where possible. This is why we are excited by this important collaboration on scientific
research on genetic diversity in Africa. It has the potential to improve the efficacy and tolerability of current and future medicines, starting
with two of the most deadly diseases, malaria and tuberculosis. In alignment with our ongoing efforts to strengthen scientific capabilities in
lower-resource settings, this project also provides opportunities for training young African scientists in the use of advanced research
methodologies and mentoring on drug development,” commented Dr. Lutz Hegemann, chief operating officer for Global Health at
Novartis.
According to a GSK press release, the project will have three funding mechanisms to support: a limited number of fellowships at academic
institutions for the collection and analysis of data on determinants of drug response; investigator-sponsored research focused on genetic
regional variation and its impact on drug response; and seed-fund for a limited number of projects to enable the exploration of new
research goals, depending on the results from the previous two categories. The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) will
administer the project within the scope of the agreement, with a joint steering committee to oversee the review of proposals. The intent is
for all collated datasets to be released in a public database to improve treatment safety and efficacy.
“It is exciting to see more and more global partners taking interest in the challenges of Africa,” remarked Prof. Glenda Gray, SAMRC
President and CEO. “We are delighted that partners are now seeking to address the challenges of Africa by their quest to understand the
fundamental differences between genetics of Africa and the rest of the world.” Researchers are invited to express their “intent to submit”
via the SAMRC website at https://www.samrc.ac.za/request-for-applications/project-africa-gradient. Final award recipients will be
announced by the end of 2021.
In other recent news for GSK, it was announced on Jan. 20 that Nexelis, a portfolio company of Ampersand Capital Partners, had inked an
asset purchase agreement under which it will acquire GSK's GCLP-certified clinical bioanalytical laboratory in Marburg, Germany. The
Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) team in Marburg will be transferred to Nexelis but will maintain a relationship with GSK and support
development of future vaccine candidates via a five-year strategic collaborative agreement. The transaction will be effective as of the end
of January 2021.
“Strategic outsourcing will optimize GSK’s footprint and increase our agility so that we can continue to accelerate the development of the
candidate vaccines in our pipeline. Based on the previous successful transfer of other laboratory activities to Nexelis, we are confident that
this will be a great fit due to the quality and agility of the Nexelis organization,” noted Emmanuel Hanon, head of GSK Vaccines R&D.

Marburg verkauft: Wie GSK mitteilte, hat das kanadische
Unternehmen Nexelis mit GSK einen Vertrag über den Kauf
des GCLP-zertifizierten klinischen bioanalytischen Labors in
Marburg unterzeichnet.
Demnach wechseln die rund 80 Wissenschaftler und
Analytiker an das kanadische Unternehmen, bleiben aber
am Standort Marburg. Und: Das Team werde „weiterhin
eine enge Beziehung zu GSK pflegen und die Entwicklung
zukünftiger GSK-Impfstoffkandidaten im Rahmen einer
fünfjährigen strategischen Zusammenarbeit unterstützen“,
heißt es. Zum Kaufpreis wurden keine Angaben gemacht.
Nexelis, Teil der Ampersand Capital Partners-Gruppe, ist laut eigenen Angaben führender Anbieter von fortschrittlicher Assay-Entwicklung
und Labortest-Dienstleistungen in den Bereichen Infektions-, Onkologie- und Stoffwechselkrankheiten. Die Assay-Entwicklung bezeichnet
in der Regel einen standardisierten Reaktionsablauf zum Nachweis einer Substanz mit einer beispielsweise molekularbiologischen
Methode.
Kapazitäten und Präsenz ausweiten
Die Transaktion mit GSK ermögliche es Nexelis, seine globale Präsenz sowie seine auf die Immunologie ausgerichtete Assay-Entwicklung
und seine Kapazitäten für klinische Hochdurchsatztests zu erweitern, teilte das Unternehmen mit. Nexelis-Ceo Benoit Bouche sagte: „Wir
freuen uns sehr, neue Kollegen an Bord begrüßen zu dürfen, die seit mehr als 20 Jahren unter der Führung von Novartis und GSK in der
klinischen Laborarbeit tätig sind und die Entwicklung von Impfstoffen gegen virale und bakterielle Krankheiten unterstützen.“ Das
Unternehmen glaube, dass der Kauf „ein entscheidender Schritt für die Etablierung von Nexelis als konkurrenzlosem globalen
Impfstoffanbieter ist“, so Bouche.
Strategisches Outsourcing
Emmanuel Hanon, Leiter Forschung und Entwicklung bei GSK Vaccines, kommentierte: „Das strategische Outsourcing wird die Präsenz von
GSK optimieren und unsere Agilität erhöhen, sodass wir die Entwicklung der Impfstoffkandidaten in unserer Pipeline weiter beschleunigen
können.“ Basierend auf einer vorherigen erfolgreichen Übertragung anderer Laboraktivitäten an Nexelis sei man zuversichtlich, dass dies
aufgrund der Qualität und Agilität von Nexelis „eine großartige Ergänzung sein wird.“
Die Transaktion soll Ende Januar in Kraft treten. Nexelis beabsichtigt laut Unternehmensangaben, den Standort Marburg zügig auszubauen
und Kooperationen mit anderen Impfstoff-Entwicklungsunternehmen sowie mit den anderen nordamerikanischen und europäischen
Standorten des Unternehmens zu initiieren.
Erweiterungen in Marburg geplant
Nexelis erwartet, dass in Marburg neue klinische Testplattformen hinzukommen, die vollständig mit den klinischen Testplattformen in
Laval (Kanada) verbunden werden. Außerdem sollen Synergien mit der in der frühen Entwicklungsphase befindlichen „ImmunXperts“-
Niederlassung in Belgien entwickelt werden und vorhandene Talente in Bereichen wie der Biostatistik genutzt werden, um ein
breitgefächertes Serviceangebot in den Bereichen Bakteriologie, Virologie und Onkologie aufzubauen.

getting its hands on a German laboratory to become the world number one in the field, has learned

“We went from 55 employees in 2015 to 360 today. Our revenues have exploded from US $ 8 million at the time
to over US $ 100 million this year. We are buying the German laboratory of 80 brains to consolidate our position”,
explains Benoit Bouche, President and CEO of Nexelis.
Founded in Laval in 2015, the company joined forces with the Ampersand Capital Partners fund three years later
and made a series of acquisitions, including Pacific Biomarkers, PAIRimmune, ImmunXperts, Gosselies and AIT
Bioscience.
Number 1 worldwide
Today, Laval pharma buys a new team of 80 researchers from Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) in Marburg,
Germany.
“We are becoming the largest company in the world in the development of methods in laboratory testing for
vaccines in development,” continues Benoit Bouche.
In its field, Nexelis now has some 250 researchers working full time on vaccine testing around the world.
“There are 42 vaccines in clinical development stage in the world and we are working on more than 20 of them”,
summarizes Benoit Bouche, whose work has been recognized by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
When asked why Quebec is worthy of interest, Mr. Bouche does not take four paths: Quebec brains are worth
gold.
“There is an interesting employment pool here. There is an attractive cost of living compared to Boston and San
Francisco as well. We are also discussing with the government to double the size of our facilities in Laval within
three years,” he concludes.

Enters into a 5-year strategic agreement to support the development of future GSK
vaccine candidates.
Nexelis, a provider of advanced assay development and laboratory testing services for infectious,
oncologic, and metabolic diseases, has signed an asset purchase agreement with GlaxoSmithKline to
acquire its GCLP-certified clinical bioanalytical lab in Marburg, Germany.
The Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) team of approximately 80 scientists and analysts, will be
transferred to Nexelis. The CLS team will support the development of future GSK vaccine candidates
through a 5-year strategic collaboration agreement.
Nexelis plans to expand the Marburg site, initiating collaborations with other vaccine development
companies as well as with the company’s other North American and European sites.
Nexelis expects to add new clinical testing platforms in Marburg that will be fully bridged with Laval
platforms, develop synergies with its early development stage ImmunXperts branch in Belgium and
leverage existing talents in fields such as biostatistics to form a broad-based, end-to-end service offering
in bacteriology, virology, and oncology.
In the last three years, Nexelis also acquired Pacific Biomarkers, Seattle, WA; PAIRimmune, Laval, QC;
ImmunXperts, Gosselies, BE; and AIT Bioscience, Indianapolis, IN.
