CATHÉDRALE DE BAYEUX
Trésor normand de l’architecture médiévale et écrin d’origine de la célèbre Tapisserie de
Bayeux, la cathédrale dédicacée en 1077 par l’évêque Odon de Conteville, demi-frère
de Guillaume le Conquérant, dévoile ses splendeurs entre arts roman et gothique.
Visites possibles en français et anglais.
D Visites FR/GB : 10 h et 14 h 15 (Durée : 1h) Accès privilégié à la salle du
chapitre et à la salle du trésor.
Places limitées à 17 personnes.
BAYEUX CATHEDRAL
Gem of Normandy architecture and original setting of the famous Tapestry of Bayeux, the
Cathedral was consecrated in 1077, by the Bishop Odo of Conteville, William the Conqueror’s
half-brother. Between the Norman and the Gothic styles, the Cathedral reveals its
magnificence. Tours may be in French and in English.

Around the Cathedral, the historic centre, spared during the events of 1944, offers a
remarkable architectural ensemble. From the creation of Bayeux to the general de

THE GERMAN GUN BATTERY
AT LONGUES-SUR-MER
Key element of the Atlantic wall, the battery at Longues-sur-Mer
included a range-finding post and four casemates, each housing
a 150-mm gun. It was built on a clifftop overlooking the Channel.
In the heart of the Allied assault sector, it played a strategic
role during the Normandy Landings on June 6th 1944.

Plusieurs thématiques de visites pour découvrir la vie d’un port de pêche :
la pêche artisanale et les techniques utilisées, l’estran, la débarque,
le sémaphore, les peintres Signac et Seurat, le port en juin 1944...

VISITE GUIDÉE d'une heure en français par un frère de la communauté des prémontrés.
(Possibilité de faire la visite avec un document en langue étangère)
Première abbaye de France libérée lors du Débarquement, elle fut habitée par des religieux
depuis 1202 jusqu’à nos jours. Église et bâtiments conventuels forment un bel ensemble
classique du XVIIIe siècle. Visite guidée de l'église abbatiale, de la sacristie, des
principales pièces conventuelles dont la bibliothèque de 60 000 volumes.

Juillet et août : visites guidées tous les jours à 16 h.

A utrefois siège d’un doyenné important, l’église de Campigny
était desservie par deux curés nommés l’un par le seigneur du lieu,
l’autre par l’abbaye de Longues. L’édifice présente un clocher remarquable
