We never buy more than a case of these wines at a time, and when they're gone they're gone…
WHITE
Bordeaux Blanc 'Le Merle', Château Clarke, Listrac, France 2016 £39
Sauvignon Blanc | Sémillon | Muscadelle | Sauvignon Gris
Le Merle was first produced back in the late 1800s and revived by in the 1970s by Baron Edmond de Rothschild. A
ripe, round take on dry white Bordeaux from a village and region better known for reds.
Sancerre Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Durand, Loire, France 2017 £47
Sauvignon Blanc
Sustainably-produced old vine Sancerre from a family-run estate. Floral, candied citrus and an almost exotic edge,
a long way from most one-note Sancerre.
Condrieu La Combe de Malleval, Domaine Ogier, Rhône, France 2016 £65
Viognier
Textbook Condrieu - ripe apricot and peach, honey and blossom, with bags of texture and weight. Pure
indulgence from the Ogiers, a domaine at the top of their game.
RED
Santenay, Louis Latour, Burgundy, France 2017 £50
Pinot Noir
Santenay is the most southerly village in the Côte de Beaune and offers excellent value for money compared to
some of its bigger name neighbours. Bright, crunchy cherry and cranberry with typical Pinot freshness.
Ségla, Château Rauzan-Ségla, 2ème Cru Classé, Margaux, France 2010 £80
Cabernet Sauvignon | Merlot
The second wine from Château Rauzan-Ségla is usually a delight and this is no exception. Typical Margaux
aromatics of violets and cassis, light-touch tannins and a lovely freshness. Unusually early adopters of screw cap,
a rarity for Bordeaux.
Château Corton Grancey Grand Cru, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France 2012 £112
Pinot Noir
Only produced in vintages where conditions are optimal, this is intense, powerful, concentrated Pinot Noir from
Grand Cru vineyards only. The marked mint and liquorice notes provide a stylistic cross-over with many a
Bordeaux.
Alter Ego de Château Palmer, 3ème Cru Classé, Margaux, France 2010 £143
Cabernet Sauvignon | Merlot
Nominally the second wine from Palmer, Alter Ego usually is stylistically very different rather than a lighter-touch
copy of the main Château production. This is big and bold - bags of espresso, tobacco and spice but plenty of
sweet cassis and plum to support it all.

Musigny, Morey-St-Denis often flies under the radar. This is densely structured,
with savoury leather and spice and a great concentration of fruit.
