Inventory of soil resources
Inventaire des ressources de terres
To build with earth, 2 types of resources available:
- soil from the building site
- soil from quarries
Objective of this first work:
- Identify various deposits for CobBauge studies
- Allow easy access to the resource for individuals and professionals
Pour construire en terre 2 types de ressources possibles:
- La terre du site de construction
- Les terres provenant de carrières
Objectif de ce premier travail:
- Identifier des gisements variés pour les études CobBauge
- Permettre un accès facile à la ressource pour les particuliers et les artisans

Soil from building sites / Terre du site de
construction
Basic hypothesis:
- traditionally used soils reflect local geology and
can be an indicator of the nature of locally
present soils,
- Characterizing traditional soils can provide an
indication of the quality of nearby deposits.
Hypothèse de base:
- les terres utilisées traditionnellement reflètent la
géologie locale et peuvent être un indicateur de la
nature des sols présents localement,
- Caractériser les terres traditionnelles peut apporter
une indication sur la qualité des gisements
disponibles à proximité.

Methodology
- Overlaying geological maps with maps showing the
location of traditional constructions to determine a
representative sample of the territory concerned.
Méthodologie engagée
- Croisement des cartes géologiques et des cartes de
présence de constructions traditionnelles pour déterminer un
échantillonnage représentatif du territoire concerné.

Observation/analysis of new cob
buildings
Observatoire des constructions neuves en bauge
Objectives:
- Observe the evolution of the new earth building market and cob in particular
- Obtain raw material to inform and communicate on the technique
- Anticipate the realization of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Environmental
and Sanitary Declaration Forms (FDES) by identifying sites, stakeholders
and reporting data
- Broaden the network of partners through contacts and interviews
- Obtaining material to promote cob building
Objectifs:
- Observer l’évolution du marché de la construction neuve en terre et en bauge en
particulier
- Obtenir de la matière première pour informer et communiquer sur la technique
- Anticiper la réalisation d’Analyse Cycle de Vie (ACV) et de Fiches de Déclaration
Environnementale et Sanitaire (FDES) en repérant les chantiers, les acteurs et en
relevant les données
- Elargir le réseau de partenaires grâce aux contacts et entretiens
- Obtenir de la matière pour promouvoir la construction en bauge
