Du 1er au 27 février, l'InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu,
reçoit Spread the Love, une exposition pop et colorée
qui célèbre l’amour avec un grand A.
From February 1st to February 27th InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu,
hosts Spread the Love, a pop and colorful exhibition which celebrates
love with a capital L.

Spécialement pensée et conçue pour l'InterContinental Lyon
- Hotel Dieu, l’exposition Spread the Love, disséminée dans les halls
et les couloirs de l’hôtel, rassemble une trentaine d’oeuvres réalisées
par six artistes phares de la Galerie Nuances et Lumière.
En mêlant les techniques, les talents et les sensibilités de chacun,
Spread the Love est un appel du cœur, un hymne coloré,
une véritable ode à l’amour.
Largement mis à l’honneur, HDBX, sculpteur de graph et street artist
dernièrement découvert par la Galerie Nuances et Lumière,
a réalisé pour l’occasion, une série limitée en petit format
de ses remarquables spray can*.

L’EXPO
Designed and conceived to fit into InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu,
the Spread the Love exhibition, which displays its works in various areas
of the hallways and lobbies of the hotel, offers a range of around thirty painting
representing the six leading artists of Galerie Nuances et Lumière.
Mixing the techniques, talents and sensibility of each artist, Spread the Love
is a call of the heart, a colorful hymn, a real ode to love.
Largely honored, HDBX, a graph and street artist as well as sculptor recently
discovered by Galerie Nuances et Lumière, has seized this opportunity to design
a small-sized, limited series of its remarkable spray cans*.

Laurent HDBX est un artiste plasticien né à Paris en 1961.
Il vit et travaille dans le sud de la France.
Après une première carrière très dense dans le design
et la communication, notamment pour l'industrie du luxe,
HDBX s'installe sur les rives de la Méditerranée pour se consacrer
exclusivement à un travail personnel mêlant numérique
et techniques académiques acquises aux beaux arts dont il sort
diplômé en 1985.
Longtemps hésitant entre la peinture, la sculpture et même
la musique, HDBX se définit lui même comme « peintre en volume »
inspiré par le pop art pour les couleurs et le street art pour son
univers graphique et son authenticité.
Artiste très discret, les informations le concernant restent rares
et peu précises.
HDBX
Laurent HDBX is a visual artist born in Paris in 1961. He lives and works
in the south of France.
After a very concentrated first career in design and communication, especially
for the luxury industry, he settles on the shores of the Mediterranean to devote
himself exclusively to personal work combining digital and academic techniques
acquired in the fine arts school which he leaves after graduating in 1985.
Hesitating for a while between painting, sculpture and even music, HDBX defines
himself as "painter in volume" inspired by pop art for colours and street art
for its graphic universe and its authenticity.
He is a very discreet artist, information concerning him remains rare
and not very precise.

Depuis plus de 30 ans, Charles Fazzino nous enchante par sa
représentation en relief d’un univers coloré, ludique et scintillant.
Cet artiste new-yorkais, créateur du 3D Pop Art, a d’abord jeté
un regard amusé sur sa ville, peignant avec force détails et dans
un style très reconnaissable ses quartiers, ses habitants, ses taxis,
sa vie frénétique… Au fil des années, il s’intéresse à d’autres villes
américaines puis européennes ou japonaises.
Très attaché à la culture américaine du mécénat et de l’entraide,
Fazzino soutient également, par son art, de nombreuses causes
médicales et sociales à travers son pays et dans le monde entier.
Charles Fazzino, fondateur du mouvement 3D Pop Art à la fin
des années 70, est né à New York en 1955.
Il y vit et y travaille toujours.

For over 30 years Charles Fazzino has charmed us by his representation in relief
of a colourful, playful and sparkling universe. This New-Yorker, creator of 3D
Pop Art, cast at first an amused eye over his city, painting with a myriad of details
and a style of his own its boroughs, inhabitants, taxis, frantic life... As the years went
by he got interested in other American cities, then European or Japanese.
Being very keen on the American culture of sponsorship and mutual aid,
Fazzino also supports through his art numerous medical and social issues,
both in his country and throughout the world. Charles Fazzino, the founder
of 3D Pop Art movement at the end of the seventies, was born in 1955 in New York
and he still lives and works there.

Né à Boston en 1968, David KRACOV a été à 12 ans, l’un des plus
jeune artistes au monde à voir ses peintures exposées au Boston
Museum of Fine Arts. David Kracov, dont le pinceau est guidé
par la muse en constante évolution de la culture pop, dont l'argile
est façonnée par les jeux de mots spirituels de la langue anglaise,
et dont les dessins sont animés par ses prouesses littéraires,
a laissé son empreinte indubitable sur le monde de l'art moderne.
Sculpteur, peintre et animateur, ses mains ont également contribué
à façonner des films phares, notamment Le Roi Lion et La Princesse
cygne. Kracov comprend vraiment comment capturer le cœur
des petits et des grands.

KRACOV
David Kracov was born in Boston, MA in 1968. After winning first place in two
categories of an art competition at the age of 12, he was one of the youngest artists
in the world to have his paintings displayed in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
David Kracov, whose paintbrush is guided by the ever-changing muse of pop
culture, whose clay is shaped by the witty puns of the English language, and whose
designs are brought to life by his literary prowess, has left his unmistakable
fingerprint on the world of modern art.
Sculptor, painter, and animator, his hands have also helped shape landmark movies
including The Lion King and The Swan Princess. Kracov truly understands how
to capture the hearts of young and old alike.

10Formé et éduqué en tant qu’artiste dans le sud de la France,
Benharrouche est devenu un éminent professeur de dessin
et de peinture à l’Académie Paganini de Nice. Ses influences incluent
des maîtres tels que Chagall, Picasso et Miró, mais le style personnel
de Benharrouche transparaît dans chacune de ses compositions
avec beaucoup de force, d'équilibre et d'harmonie.
Profondément spirituel, Yoel Benharrouche établit un lien sincère
avec son public. Sa palette vibrante et sa contemplation mystique
explorent le monde historique et spirituel d'Israël. Il peint son
environnement avec une qualité lyrique qui l'a propulsé parmi
les artistes d'élite du monde, explorant la dualité entre le monde
matériel et le monde mystique.

Trained and educated as an artist in the south of France, Benharrouche went on
to become a distinguished professor of drawing and painting at Nice´s Academie
Paganini. His influences include masters such as Chagall, Picasso and Miró,
yet Benharrouche’s personal style comes through in each of his composition
with much strength, balance and harmony.
Deeply spiritual, Yoel Benharrouche establishes a sincere connection with
his audience. His vibrant palette and mystical contemplation explore both
the historical and spiritual world of Israel. He paints his surroundings with a lyrical
quality that has landed him among the elite artists of the world, exploring
the duality between the material and mystical world.

12Le travail de Dorit Levinstein vous invite à entrer dans son univers
de formes, de figures et de couleurs. Ses sculptures sobres
et élégantes semblent glousser de plaisir comme si elles étaient
chatouillées, puis s'étirer avec une élasticité exquise pour former
leur position dans l'espace. Les sculptures tirent leur volume
d'une ligne virtuose continue faisant allusion à des figures humaines,
des animaux, des fleurs et des objets.
Chacune des figures virevoltantes est peinte de couleurs vives,
créant des motifs rythmiques qui se répètent régulièrement comme
des variations sur un air bien-aimé. Malgré son apparente simplicité,
l'œuvre est le résultat d'un processus créatif et sophistiqué.
Pour maîtriser ces figures maigres et aérées, il faut la compétence
et la dextérité d'un danseur professionnel qui s'entraîne
quotidiennement pour exécuter la pirouette apparemment
sans effort.

Dorit Levinstein’s work invites you to step into her universe of forms, figures,
and colors. Her spare, elegant sculptures seem to giggle with delight as if tickled,
and then stretch out with an exquisite elasticity to form their position in space.
The sculptures derive their volume from a continuous virtuosic line alluding
to human figures, animals, flowers, and objects.
Each of the twirling figures is painted in vivid colors, creating rhythmic patterns
that regularly repeat themselves like variations on a well-loved tune. Despite its
apparent simplicity, the work is the result of a creative and sophisticated process.
To master these lean and airy figures, one needs the skill and dexterity of
a professional dancer who practices daily to perform the seemingly effortless
pirouette.

PLUM
14Issu d’une famille de décorateurs haut de gamme, Plum baigne
toute son enfance dans la stimulation esthétique des formes,
des couleurs et des matériaux. Initié très tôt au dessin,
c’est notamment chez son oncle sculpteur, qu’il développe par la suite
le goût des volumes et du travail plastique, et sa passion pour
la finitude de l'objet.
Il deviendra PLUM, - du nom dont il avait recouvert la genèse
de son enfant : légèreté de tout ce qui croit en silence et demeure
caché – et n’a désormais plus qu’une obsession, faire œuvre.
Sous le feu d’une inspiration frénétique, PLUM produit et développe
ce concept initial, mariant sous forme d’hommage l’obscure réalité
des commencements qui l’habitent, en signant de ces plumes posées
sur la mécanique noire d’un dessin inscrit comme en négatif.
PLUM
Coming from a family of upscale decorators, Plum bathed his childhood
in the aesthetic stimulation of shapes, colors and materials. Initiated very early
in the drawing, it is notably with his uncle sculptor, that he develops thereafter
the taste of the volumes and the plastic work, and his passion for the finitude
of the object.
He will be PLUM, - whose name he had covered with the genesis of his child:
the lightness of all that believes in silence and remains hidden - and now has only
one obsession, to do work.
Under the fire of a frenetic inspiration, he produced and developed this initial
concept, marrying in homage the obscure reality of the beginnings that inhabit it,
by signing these feathers resting on the black mechanics of a drawing written
as negative.
