                                                                                                                        The emphasis on collaboration is a driving theme in much of the private sector of industry. From concurrent engineering
                                                                                                                      to the creation of virtual collaborative networks, industry has long recognized that quality and productivity can be improved
                                                                                                                      when silos are broken down and departments communicate and collaborate with one another. Thanks to the generosity of
                                                                                                                      CJA’s Generations Fund and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel and Brenda Gewurz, Hebrew Academy has embraced this approach through
                                                                                                                      a program of professional development called the One School Educational Plan.

                                                                                                                        Now in its second year, the One School program is a formal program of professional development designed to ensure a
                                                                                                                      qualitative and quantitative edge inside the classroom and within our community of learners. The program is designed to
                                                                                                                      develop a common language and methodology for the faculty as a whole, from Kindergarten to Secondary V through the
                                                                                                                      professional collaboration of teachers and faculty members, breaking down the classroom silos and providing training and
                                                                                                                      support for educators. For the first time at Hebrew Academy, teachers are working together across grade levels, departments
                                                                                                                      and schools in collaboration with our support staff of special educators, guidance counselors and IT coordinators to enhance
                                                                                                                      the learning experience of every student.

   Depuis plusieurs années, les élèves de la troisième année à
l’Académie Hébraïque ont participé à un programme spécial qui vise
à les sensibiliser aux personnes avec un handicap. Le programme,
qui s’intitule « One of Us », fait partie du curriculum d’anglais, dans
le cadre d’une unité sur les besoins particuliers. Le programme a été
créé par Rachel Silverstein, coordonnatrice des services de soutien et
de projets communautaires du centre de développement Yaldei. Le
programme est divisé en trois parties et favorise la compréhension
des élèves de ce que sont les handicaps physiques et intellectuels.
Parmi les sujets abordés, nous retrouvons : « Abilities versus disabilities
