Elections au Conseil de Fondation – Mai 2020
This year, there will be four seats up for election, three for a four-year term and one further for
a one-year term (end of the mandate of a resigning member as per the Regulations of the
Foundation of the International School of Geneva Art. 2.4). When the votes will be counted,
the candidate in fourth place will be elected to this one-year position. The four candidates will
be elected to join the following members of the Board who will be continuing their term through
the school year 2020-2021.
Cette année, quatre sièges doivent être pourvus, trois sièges pour un mandat de quatre ans et
un siège supplémentaire pour un mandat d’un an (fin du mandat d’un membre démissionnaire,
voir Règlement de la Fondation de l’Ecole Internationale de Genève Art. 2.4). Lorsque les votes
seront comptés, le candidat placé en quatrième position sera élu pour ce mandat d’un an.
Les quatre candidats élus prendront place aux côtés des membres du Conseil dont le mandat
se poursuivra durant l’année scolaire 2020-2021.

Biographical Data
•● I am a French national who have now been working outside France for the last 17 years in Australia, the UK
and Switzerland. I studied Business and Management at ESCP Europe in Paris and built my career in blue chip
companies such as Groupe Danone, Reckitt Benckiser, Procter & Gamble, GSK and Galderma.
•● I am married and my 2 teenagers have been for the last 8 years at La Châtaigneraie, where I was class parents
representative for two years.
•● As a family, our common and deep passion is travelling to experience and learn from diverse cultures.
What does the Ecolint mean to you?
•● When I turned 15, I experimented a turning point in my life. The public school I was attending opened an
International Baccalaureate section and I volunteered to be part of it.
•● The amazing intellectual and human richness I shared with my fellow students and passionate teachers was
a gift I never forgot as it laid the foundations of my working and personal life forever.
•● Beyond the undisputable academical excellence it provides, I am convinced that Ecolint is this springboard for
cultural diversity, inclusion, mutual respect and learning agility that as a parent I want my kids to benefit from
and live up to in the future.
What skills/expertise can you bring to Ecolint?
•● Over the last 20+ years in various roles in matrix organizations with a wide variety of local, regional and global
stakeholders, I learnt humility and the power of “one team” through active listening, fostering collaboration and
looking for mutual gains to reach common objectives and ensure long term success.
•● As I got involved in organizational transformation, I put communication at the centre to help change
management initiatives being embraced by the whole organization at all levels.
•● As a business leader, I tried to ensure that the short and long term strategic plans built cross-functionally were
focused on key priorities, were realistic and actionable and that the necessary structures were in place to help
teams with the implementation.
•● As a marketer at heart, building and driving engagement in brands through human centricity is a key technical
expertise I have acquired and it remains one of my passions.
In your opinion, what are the issues that need to be addressed if you are elected to the Governing Board?
I will definitely need some time to understand the relevant issues but if I have to highlight a couple today :
•● How to ensure that the necessary financial but more importantly human resources are in place to best prepare
the students, teachers and broad community for a world of constant change and the increasing need for
collaboration?
•● How to contribute to driving engagement and pride in the vision, mission and values of our school so that it can
continue leading by example and effectively compete through unique points of difference?

•● Je suis une ressortissante française qui travaille depuis 17 ans à l’étranger, en Australie, au Royaume-Uni et en Suisse.
•● J’ai étudié le commerce et le management à l’ESCP Europe à Paris et ai construit ma carrière dans des
entreprises de premier ordre telles que le Groupe Danone, Reckitt Benckiser, Procter & Gamble, GSK et Galderma.
•● Je suis mariée et mes deux adolescents sont depuis huit ans à La Châtaigneraie où j’ai été représentante de
classe pour les parents pendant 2 ans.
•● La passion que notre famille partage est le voyage qui nous permet de vivre des expériences interculturelles
extrêmement enrichissantes.
Que représente pour vous l’Ecolint ?
•● À 15 ans, j’ai vécu un tournant dans ma vie. L’école publique que je fréquentais a ouvert une section Baccalauréat
International et je me suis portée volontaire pour en faire partie.
•● L’incroyable richesse intellectuelle et humaine que j’ai partagée avec mes camarades de classe et mes
professeurs passionnés a été un cadeau que je n’ai jamais oublié car il a établi les fondations de ma vie
professionnelle et personnelle pour toujours.
•● Au-delà de l’excellence académique incontestable qu’elle apporte, je suis convaincue que l’Ecolint est ce même
tremplin pour la diversité culturelle, l’inclusion, le respect mutuel et l’agilité d’apprentissage dont, en tant que
parent, je veux que mes enfants bénéficient et soient des ambassadeurs dans le futur.
Quelles connaissances/compétences pensez-vous pouvoir apporter à l’Ecole ?
•● Au cours des 23 dernières années dans des rôles variés au sein d’organisations matricielles avec une grande
variété d’acteurs locaux, régionaux et mondiaux, j’ai d’abord appris l’humilité. L’importance de construire une
équipe unie grâce à une collaboration basée sur l’écoute active et la recherche de gains mutuels est pour moi
fondamentale si l’on veut atteindre des objectifs et assurer le succès à long terme.
•● Ayant dû piloter des transformations organisationnelles, j’ai fait de la communication une priorité afin que les
initiatives de gestion du changement soient adoptées par l’ensemble de l’organisation et ce à tous les niveaux.
•● En tant que cadre dirigeant, j’ai essayé de faire en sorte que les plans stratégiques à court et à long terme
élaborés de manière transversale soient axés sur les principales priorités, soient réalistes et réalisables, et surtout
que les structures nécessaires soient en place pour aider les équipes à les mettre en œuvre.
•● Étant une «marketeur» dans l’âme, faire grandir des marques en construisant une relation forte avec leur cœur
de cible est une de mes compétences mais surtout une de mes passions.
Si vous êtes élue au Conseil de Fondation, quelles sont, d’après vous, les questions devant être traitées ?
J’aurai certainement besoin d’un certain temps pour comprendre les questions pertinentes, mais si je dois
en souligner quelques-unes aujourd’hui :
•● Comment s’assurer que les ressources financières mais surtout humaines nécessaires sont en place pour
préparer au mieux les étudiants, les enseignants et la communauté au sens large à un monde en constante
évolution et au besoin croissant de collaboration ?
•● Comment contribuer à susciter l’engagement et la fierté dans la vision, la mission et les valeurs de notre école
afin qu’elle puisse continuer à montrer l’exemple et à rivaliser efficacement en faisant valoir des points de
différence uniques ?

Biographical Data
•● Konstantin Koudriaev has most recently been with COFCO International, China’s largest food and agricultural
company, where he served from 2014 as Director of Strategy and Deputy Global Head of Strategy and M&A,
based in Geneva. Prior to that, Konstantin was an investment banker with Goldman Sachs & Co. where he
served as a Managing Director in its Investment Banking Division and Morgan Stanley & Co. based in London.
•● Born in Russia, Konstantin first moved to Geneva in 1993 and completed his studies at the department of Social
and Economic Sciences at the University of Geneva. He later received a Master of Business Administration (MBA)
in Analytic Finance and Accounting at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in the United States.
•● Before his career in finance, Konstantin was a professional athlete. He represented the Soviet Union and Russia as
a member of its national in fin swimming, winning 15 World Championship gold medals over a span of almost 10
years and setting several world records. He received Russia’s highest athletic award of Merited Master of Sports
and a graduate degree in teaching and coaching from the Moscow Central State Institute of Sport.
•● Konstantin is a Russian, Swiss and British citizen and is fluent in Russian, French and English. Two of his three
children are currently pupils at Ecolint La Grande Boissière Campus. His wife, Camilla is an Ecolint alumna.
•● Konstantin has been elected to the Governing Board of the Foundation of the International School of Geneva
for the period 2016-2020. He was the Treasurer of the Board (2017-2019) and he is currently serving as
the Chairperson of the Governing Board.
What does Ecolint mean to you?
•● Innovative approach to teaching and learning.
•● Community and complexity.
•● Freedom and courage to challenge and question the status quo.
•● Bringing the best in its students.
•● Ecolint has a very rich history in which its current success is strongly routed.
•● The school is almost 100 years old - it persisted and succeeded.
•● Its ethos is strong, its students come back to teach.
•● It is quite unique.
•● I have a lot of respect for Ecolint.
What skills/expertise can you bring to Ecolint?
•● Strategy and financial expertise, project management, governance and management relationship.
In your opinion, what are the issues that need to be addressed if you are reelected to the Governing Board?
•● The school needs to face the fact that despite its 100 years of success, the next 100 years might be very
different.
•● The school must be very weary of becoming a victim of its past success and become complacent.
•● We must redress the lack of diversity of its student body.
•● We should build a financial base (permanent capital) which will allow the school to take more risk of innovation
in teaching and learning, while it can continue to be able to withstand economic downturns and volatility that is
likely to be a permanent factor impacting everyone’s lives for years to come.

•● Konstantin Koudriaev a récemment travaillé pour COFCO International, la plus grande entreprise alimentaire et
agricole de Chine où il a occupé à partir de 2014 le poste de Directeur de la stratégie et de responsable mondial
adjoint de la stratégie et des fusions et acquisitions, basé à Genève. Auparavant, Konstantin était banquier d’affaires
chez Goldman Sachs & Co. où il a occupé le poste de Directeur général de la division banque d’affaires, et chez
Morgan Stanley & Co. à Londres.
•● Né en Russie, Konstantin s’est installé à Genève en 1993 et a terminé ses études au département des sciences
sociales et économiques de l’université de Genève. Il a ensuite obtenu un Master of Business Administration (MBA)
en finance analytique et comptabilité à la Booth School of Business de l’Université de Chicago aux États-Unis.
•● Avant sa carrière dans la finance, Konstantin était un athlète professionnel. Il a représenté l’Union soviétique et la
Russie en tant que membre de son équipe nationale de natationavec palmes remportant 15 médailles d’or aux
championnats du monde sur une période de près de 10 ans et établissant plusieurs records du monde. Il a reçu la
plus haute distinction athlétique de Russie, le titre de maître de sport méritant, ainsi qu’un diplôme d’enseignement
et d’entraînement de l’Institut central d’État du sport de Moscou.
•● Konstantin est un citoyen russe, suisse et britannique et parle couramment le russe, le français et l’anglais.
Deux de ses trois enfants sont actuellement élèves au Campus La Grande Boissière de l’Ecolint. Sa femme, Camilla,
est une ancienne élève de l’Ecolint.
•● Konstantin a été élu au Conseil de Fondation de l’Ecole internationale de Genève pour la période 2016-2020.
Il a été le trésorier du Conseil (2017-2019) et il est actuellement le Président du Conseil de Fondation.
Que représente pour vous l’Ecolint ?
•● Une approche innovante de l’enseignement et de l’apprentissage.
•● Communauté et complexité.
•● Liberté et courage de remettre en question le statu quo.
•● Apporter le meilleur à ses étudiants.
•● L’Ecolint a une histoire très riche dans laquelle son succès actuel est fortement ancré.
•● L’école a presque 100 ans - elle a persisté et a réussi.
•● Son ethos est fort, ses élèves reviennent pour enseigner.
•● Elle est tout à fait unique.
•● J’ai beaucoup de respect pour l’Ecolint.
Quelles connaissances/compétences pensez-vous pouvoir apporter à l’Ecole ?
•● Stratégie et expertise financière, gestion de projet, gouvernance et relation de gestion.
Si vous êtes réélu au Conseil, quelles sont, d’après vous, les questions devant être traitées ?
•● L’école doit faire face au fait que malgré ses 100 ans de succès, les 100 prochaines années pourraient être très différentes.
•● L’école doit être vigilante et ne pas être victime de son succès passé et devenir complaisante.
•● Nous devons remédier au manque de diversité de ses élèves.
•● Nous devons construire une base financière (capital permanent) qui permettra à l’Ecolint de prendre davantage de
risques en matière d’innovation dans l’enseignement et l’apprentissage, tout en continuant à pouvoir résister aux
ralentissements économiques et à la volatilité qui risque d’être un facteur permanent ayant un impact sur la vie de
chacun pendant des années.

Biographical Data
• Born and raised in Belgium, the second son of a nurse and a teacher, I have worked for the past fifteen years in
the not-for profit sector across various continents.
• A former delegate at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), a trained auditor, I now work in risk
management at the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
• A father of three, my two eldest are at Nations, in the early years section (Pregny). I am married to a French
Canadian and serve on the Campus Advisory Board and the Finance Committee of Ecolint since 2018.
What does Ecolint mean to you?
• Equality, solidarity and diversity.
• As a parent, I value the critical thinking and cultural agility that are central to the pedagogy of Ecolint.
• As a Genevan, I celebrate the Foundation as a renowned local institution.
• As a member of the community, I count on the Governing Board to ensure that the school continues to uphold
its excellent reputation and remain, for generations to come, a relevant alternative to the local schooling system.
What skills/expertise can you bring to Ecolint?
• I bring expertise in risk management, project management and change management in a not for profit
environment.
• My time in audit allows me to bring a principled approach to policy making and governance.
• Having served as a staff representative, I also bring hands-on experience in employee relations in an
international and multicultural setting.
In your opinion, what are the issues that need to be addressed if you are elected to the Governing Board?
• Effective governance of the Foundation. I see a need to balance oversight over the strategic direction and
oversight over the implementation of this strategy. While strategic oversight is currently well documented in
Governing Board meetings through exchanges with management, I believe we can improve in the oversight over
strategy implementation through better risk management.
• Sustainability. Ecolint needs to future proof its operating model and carefully navigate continued investment in
teaching and technical staff while safeguarding the socio-economic and cultural mix of our community.
• Focus on our heritage. Ecolint could celebrate its history and sense of community in coming milestones, such as
the opening of the Nations Early Years center in 2022 and Ecolint first century of existence in 2024.

• Né et élevé en Belgique, deuxième fils d’une infirmière et d’un enseignant, je travaille depuis quinze ans dans le
secteur non lucratif sur différents continents.
• Ancien délégué du Comité international de la Croix-Rouge (CICR), auditeur de formation, je travaille aujourd’hui
dans la gestion des risques au Fonds mondial de lutte contre le sida, la tuberculose et le paludisme.
• Père de trois enfants, mes deux aînés sont au Campus des Nations dans la section de la petite enfance (Pregny).
Je suis marié à une Canadienne française et je siège au Comité Consultatif du Campus et au Comité des
Finances de l’Ecolint depuis 2018.
Que représente pour vous l’Ecolint ?
• Égalité, solidarité et diversité.
• En tant que parent, j’apprécie la pensée critique et l’agilité culturelle qui sont au cœur de la pédagogie de l’Ecolint.
• En tant que Genevois, je salue la Fondation en tant qu’institution locale de renom.
• En tant que membre de la communauté, je compte sur le Conseil de Fondation pour veiller à ce que l’école
continue à maintenir son excellente réputation et à rester, pour les générations à venir, une alternative pertinente
au système scolaire local.
Quelles connaissances/compétences pensez-vous pouvoir apporter à l’Ecolint ?
• J’apporte mon expertise en matière de gestion des risques, de gestion de projets et de gestion du changement
dans un environnement à but non lucratif.
• Le temps que je passe dans l’audit me permet d’apporter une approche consciencieuse à l’élaboration des
politiques et à la gouvernance.
• Ayant servi en tant que représentant du personnel, j’apporte également une expérience pratique des relations
avec les employés dans un cadre international et multiculturel.
Si vous êtes élu au Conseil de Fondation, quelles sont, d’après vous, les questions devant être traitées ?
• Une gouvernance efficace de la Fondation. Je vois la nécessité d’équilibrer la supervision de l’orientation
stratégique et le contrôle de la mise en œuvre de cette stratégie. Bien que la supervision stratégique soit
actuellement bien documentée lors des séances du Conseil de Fondation grâce aux échanges avec la direction,
je pense que nous pouvons améliorer la supervision de la mise en œuvre de la stratégie par une meilleure
gestion des risques.
• Durabilité. L’Ecolint doit mettre à l’épreuve du temps son modèle de fonctionnement et gérer avec soin
l’investissement permanent dans le personnel enseignant et technique tout en préservant la mixité socio-
économique et culturelle de notre communauté.
• Mettre l’accent sur notre héritage. L’Ecolint pourrait célébrer son histoire et son sens de la communauté à
l’occasion de prochaines étapes, telles que l’intégration du Centre de la petite enfance au Campus des Nations
en 2022 et le premier siècle d’existence de l’Ecolint en 2024.

Biographical Data
• I am a German national with university degrees in chemistry and economics, and a PhD in ethics in chemistry.
• I joined the United Nations (UN) in 2005 and worked in the fields of industrial development and environmental
governance.
• In my current job with UN Environment Programme, I am responsible for resource mobilization for the Basel,
Rotterdam and Stockholm conventions regulating hazardous chemicals and waste.
• I have successfully fundraised for multimillion-dollar projects on sustainable development and, more recently,
plastics management.
• My wife is Italian and we have two young children, Alma and Fabian.
• I hold a ski instructor license and play golf and tennis, trying to convey my passion for sport to family and friends.
What does Ecolint mean to you?
• Thanks to my PhD, I was invited to provide lectures for Swiss universities on ethics in chemistry. I witnessed
many uninterested students and even resistance.
• I wish for my children a school that teaches them to engage with the political, ethical and environmental
challenges of their times in a multilingual and multicultural setting.
• The International School of Geneva exceeded our expectations.
• I firmly believe the School will prepare our children to find their voice in a complex and challenging world.
What skills/expertise can you bring to Ecolint?
• With over 15 years of experience working in the UN on resource mobilization and sustainability, I bring a broad
mix of skills to the Board, such as a solid understanding of finance and budgeting.
• The School would also be able to tap into my large network of public and private sector donor entities, including
foundations and other philanthropic organizations.
In your opinion, what are the issues that need to be addressed if you are elected to the Governing Board?
• I see three priorities. A central finding of my PhD puts on us on education and, more importantly, on teachers,
who are vital for unlocking the passions and potentials of our children.
• Keeping up with the world’s challenges and complexities requires lifelong learning and training. Investing in
our teachers should therefore be a key focus for the coming years.
• Secondly, I see the necessity to build a stronger economic basis for the School. Expanding the donor basis
should be paired with a coherent branding and mission statement.
• Lastly, improving the carbon footprint, access to renewable energy and plastic management is a critical
imperative for the School itself and for its place in society at large.

•● Je suis de nationalité allemande et je suis titulaire de diplômes universitaires en chimie et en économie, ainsi que
d’un doctorat en éthique de la chimie.
•● J’ai rejoint les Nations Unies (ONU) en 2005 et j’ai travaillé dans les domaines du développement industriel et de
la gouvernance environnementale.
•● Dans mon poste actuel au sein du Programme des Nations unies pour l’environnement, je suis responsable de

•● Grâce à mon doctorat, j’ai été invité à donner des conférences sur l’éthique en chimie dans les universités
suisses. J’ai été témoin de nombreux étudiants désintéressés et même de résistances.
•● Je souhaite à mes enfants une école qui leur apprenne à relever les défis politiques, éthiques et
environnementaux de leur temps dans un cadre multilingue et multiculturel.
•● L’Ecolint a dépassé nos attentes.

Quelles connaissances/compétences pensez-vous pouvoir apporter à l’Ecolint ?
•● Avec plus de 15 ans d’expérience au sein des Nations unies dans le domaine de la mobilisation des ressources
et de la durabilité, j’apporte au Conseil un large éventail de compétences, telles qu’une solide compréhension des
finances et de la budgétisation.
•● L’Ecolint pourra également tirer parti de mon vaste réseau d’entités donatrices des secteurs public et privé,
notamment des fondations et autres organisations philanthropiques.
Si vous êtes élu au Conseil de Fondation, quelles sont, d’après vous, les questions devant être traitées ?
•● Je vois trois priorités. L’une des principales conclusions de mon doctorat porte sur l’éducation et, plus important
encore, sur les enseignants qui sont essentiels pour libérer les passions et les potentiels de nos enfants.
•● Pour être à la hauteur des défis et des complexités du monde, il faut un apprentissage et une formation tout au
long de la vie. L’investissement dans nos enseignants devrait donc être un objectif clé pour les années à venir.
•● Deuxièmement, je vois la nécessité de construire une base économique plus solide pour l’école. L’élargissement
de la base des donateurs devrait être associé à une image de marque et à une déclaration de mission
cohérentes.
•● Enfin, l’amélioration de l’empreinte carbone, de l’accès aux énergies renouvelables et de la gestion des matières
plastiques est un impératif essentiel pour l’école elle-même et pour sa place dans la société en général.

• I’m a 38 year old British national who grew up in Geneva and left in 2000 to attend university in London. I then
started a career in banking which took me to Paris before finally returning home to Geneva eight years ago.
• As part of my job I’ve been lucky enough to win several industry awards and had a couple of articles published
in the specialised financial press. I’ve also had the honour of leading a team of traders and been part of many
committees (currently part of HSBC Private Banks’ Sustainability Committee and previously been part of a local
industry trade group).
• Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and skiing with my wife, running in a team, and taking part in triathlons around
Switzerland.
What does Ecolint mean to you?
• I spent my entire childhood attending the International School of Geneva, starting with Rigot, which doesn’t exist
anymore!
• The school and its very patient teaching staff supported me through good and bad times and now I’d like to give
back to that community in a small way by presenting my candidacy to join the Governing Board.
What skills/expertise can you bring to Ecolint?
• Some of the skills I could bring to this role would include managing and coordinating projects across several
locations and between many stakeholders (I’d previously been involved in a major migration project to transfer
a bank’s trading infrastructure from one system to another one as well as launching a new investment product
from scratch).
• I’m also fully bilingual in French and in English and I have experience in public speaking and chairing meetings
(regular conference panellist and presenter) and I could offer investment advice (thanks to my professional
experience), with a focus on equity investments. Lastly, a key skill I think I could bring to a Board is listening.
In your opinion, what are the issues that need to be addressed if you are elected to the Governing Board?
• With Switzerland having only recently taken measures to attract new multinationals and maintain existing ones,
I would think that a key short term challenge will be finding the right balance between capacity (having enough
places for students if Geneva sees a big inflow of new multinationals) and financial flexibility (not spending too
much to build new classrooms in case the demand doesn’t follow).
• At the same time, other educational institutes might present a competitive threat, so the Foundation will want to
continue to innovate to remain relevant and maintain its position as most attractive international school in the
region.
• Lastly, the Foundation’s Endowment could be developed further.

moments et maintenant, j’aimerais rendre à cette communauté un petit peu de ce qu’elle m’a donné en
présentant ma candidature pour être membre du Conseil de Fondation.
Quelles connaissances/compétences pensez-vous pouvoir apporter à l’Ecolint ?
•● Certaines des compétences que je pourrais apporter à ce poste consistent à gérer et à coordonner des projets
sur plusieurs sites et entre de nombreuses parties prenantes (j’avais déjà participé à un grand projet de migration
pour transférer l’infrastructure commerciale d’une banque d’un système à un autre, ainsi qu’au lancement d’un
tout nouveau produit d’investissement).
•● Je suis également parfaitement bilingue en français et en anglais et j’ai de l’expérience dans la prise de parole
en public et la présidence de réunions (conférencier et présentateur régulier). Je pourrais offrir des conseils en
matière d’investissement (grâce à mon expérience professionnelle), avec un accent sur les investissements en
actions. Enfin, une compétence clé que je pense pouvoir apporter à un Conseil de Fondation est l’écoute.
Si vous êtes élu au Conseil de Fondation, quelles sont, d’après vous, les questions devant être traitées ?
•● La Suisse n’ayant pris que récemment des mesures pour attirer de nouvelles multinationales et maintenir celles
déjà présentes, je pense qu’un des principaux défis à court terme sera de trouver le bon équilibre entre la capacité
(avoir suffisamment de places pour les élèves si Genève voit un afflux important de nouvelles multinationales) et
la flexibilité financière (ne pas trop dépenser pour construire de nouvelles salles de classe au cas où la demande
ne suivrait pas).
•● Dans le même temps, d’autres établissements d’enseignement pourraient représenter une menace
concurrentielle. La Fondation voudra donc continuer à innover pour rester pertinente et conserver sa position
d’école internationale la plus attrayante de la région.
•● Enfin, la dotation de la Fondation pourrait être davantage développée.

• Before this he was an Senior Vice-President at Dillon, Read in New York.
• He started his career at Citibank where he held various corporate finance responsibilities in Geneva, San
Francisco and New York.
• He enrolled at Ecolint in 5th grade and stayed through graduation in 12th grade.
• He attended Tufts University where he obtained a Bachelor of Sciences in electrical engineering and a Bachelor
of Arts in economics.
• He then obtained a Master in Business and Administration from Harvard Business School.

In your opinion, what are the issues that need to be addressed if you are elected to the Governing Board?
• Communication within the foundation could be improved. Management focuses on the financial future of the
school. The teachers focus on providing the best education possible. Unfortunately, both groups often do not
communicate effectively and cooperation suffers as a result. I hope my knowledge of finance and pedagogy
will bring insight and oversight into the financial priorities and build trust within the community. I will do all I can
to provide sensible recommendations and improve communication and cooperation at all levels.
• Large projects often seem to be managed internally with insufficient external input. My experience is that we
should focus on what we know how to do best (educating our children) and we could benefit from targeted
external expertise especially where large capital projects are concerned.

financier de l’école. Les enseignants s’attachent à fournir la meilleure éducation possible. Malheureusement,
les deux groupes ne communiquent souvent pas efficacement et la coopération en souffre. J’espère que mes
connaissances en matière de finances et de pédagogie permettront de mieux comprendre et de mieux contrôler
les priorités financières et d’instaurer la confiance au sein de la communauté. Je ferai tout mon possible pour
formuler des recommandations judicieuses et améliorer la communication et la coopération à tous les niveaux.
•● Les grands projets semblent souvent être gérés en interne avec un apport externe insuffisant. D’après mon

Biographical Data
• Born and raised in India, I pursued higher education in the United States, receiving a Master’s in Counselor
Education from Duquesne University and a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Purdue University,
I spent the next decade working in Mumbai, India, establishing and managing an NGO dedicated to HIV
counseling & support services, running a private practice and consulting with regional NGO’s.
• Soon after arriving in Geneva as a trailing spouse, I started my career in higher education at Webster University
Geneva, where I remain as Adjunct faculty, teaching both graduates and undergraduates in the Department of
Psychology and Counseling. I also established a private practice specializing in psychotherapy for Individuals,
Couples and Families and have extensive experience working with clients of many cultures and nationalities.
• For the past 4 years, I’ve had the honour of serving on the Board of Ecolint as an elected member, Chair of the
Policies, Risks and Procedures Committee and member of the Executive Committee for the past two years.
What does Ecolint mean to you?
• I am inspired by the mission and vision of Ecolint and the wealth of opportunities offered to our students and
community, as well as the tremendous work “behind the scenes” in order to manage a Foundation of this size
and diversity, committed to delivering high quality education for students of all abilities in multiple schools via
multiple programs in a nurturing environment.
What skills/expertise can you bring to Ecolint?
• My first two years at the Board were a steep learning curve as we oversaw a change in leadership, the
appointment of a new Director General and the launch of a new strategic plan. I have benefitted from training in
risk assessment and board governance and, as Chair of the Policy Risk and Procedures Committee, have been
overseeing the review of policies and procedures to better align them with the mission of the Foundation,
in compliance with accreditation standards and international best practice.
• A dual career as educator and clinician, as well as Board participation over the past years, give me unique
perspectives into the evolving needs and challenges for the Foundation, in the field of education and in the lives
of children and families.
In your opinion, what are the issues that need to be addressed if you are re-elected to the Governing Board?
• The foundation needs a stable and diverse Governing Board in order to remain agile and respond dynamically
to changing educational and economic realities.
• Harmonious and collaborative stakeholder relations between all parts of the Foundation and within all
campuses are critical in order to sustain the momentum needed to meet the goals articulated in the strategic
plan, oversee the completion of the infrastructure projects on all three campuses, complete the accreditation
process currently underway and plan for the upcoming centenary.
• Continued focus on curricular innovation, pedagogical excellence & fostering curiosity and creativity.
