Fifty years after the first step on the moon – The Space Age – an ephemeral trend of the late sixties – is the starting point

Drawing his inspiration form a rare and precious XVIII th century technique, Jeremy Tarian has been revisiting tradition
since 2012 with this marbled crockery of “mixed clays”.
Naturally colored or tinted with oxides such as copper, cobalt and chrome, the clays are mixed in thin layers of 3 to 5 mm,
molded, sanded and baked at 980° C before being enameled
and baked again at 1280° C.
The pure black mat titanium is the perfect base
to add the ceramics.

Faire une tête de plus, avec un grand nez et une forte myopie, mon besoin de porter des lunettes arriva tôt. Après des études en Finances, mon besoin de créer repris vite le dessus. Et pour cause, voyant que je ne prenais pas autant de plaisir dans la pratique des sports que les camarades de mon âge, ma mère a eu la brillante idée de m’inscrire aux cours de céramique dans Ateliers du Carrousel du Louvre à l’âge de 10 ans. 20 ans plus tard, cette activité est devenue une passion. Une formation à la Parsons New School of Design de New York, et un séjour chez ic ! Berlin, m’ont conduit tout naturellement à créer mes propres créations sous la marque, Tarian en 2010. J’aime les couleurs et les matières ; mélanges de copeaux d’acétate en lunet- terie et mixture de terres pigmentées pour mes céramiques marbrées. Mon univers est la rencontre de ses deux passions. 1987 Naissance à Paris, France 2010 Création de Tarian 2012 Silmo d’Or avec la monture solaire « Saintonge » 2013 Ma myopie atteint -7.00 à gauche et -7.50 à droite, mais sans astigmatisme 2014 Partenariat avec la Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design HEAD de Genève 2017 La marque est présente chez des opticiens créateurs dans 18 pays 2018 Lancement de la gamme de céramique Tarian l’Atelier 2019 Silmo d’Or avec la monture optique « Graphic » 2020 Ouverture de l’Atelier au 50 rue des Tournelles, Paris
ABOUT JEREMY As a child I was already taller than my classmates, had a long nose and suffe- red from high degree myopia. The need for glasses was felt early on. After studying Finance, I went back to my first passion: creation. Indeed, it all started when I was 10 years old, when my mum had the brilliant idea to enroll me on a ceramic course at the Ateliers du Carrousel du Louvre because I didn’t enjoy sports as much as the other boys did. The passion still lives on 20 years down the line. Trained at New York’s Parsons School of Design, I gained experience at ic! Berlin before naturally launching my own brand, Tarian, in 2010, to design my own creations. I love colors and raw materials: mixes of acetate shavings for my eyewear, combinations of pigmented clays form marbled ceramics. My world revolves around the commingling of these two passions. 1987 Birth in Paris 2010 Launch of the brand Tarian 2012 Silmo d’Or Prize rewarding the SAINTONGE sunglasses 2013 My myopia reaches -7.00 (L) & -7.50 R), without astigmatism 2014 Partnership with Genève’s HEAD art school of design 2017 Tarian’s frames are distributed in 18 countries 2018 Launch of the ceramic line Tarian l’Atelier 2019 Silmo d’Or Prize rewarding the GRAPHIC frame model 2020 Opening of the Atelier in the center of Paris
