Chaque année le Festival International du film Panafricain,
nous donne l’occasion de partager des moments excep-
tionnels. Cette 16ème édition nous garantie de belles émo-
tions avec plus d’une soixantaine de films sélectionnés.
Vous aurez la chance de voir des oeuvres en provenance
du monde entier. Les équipes de films viendront supporter
et encourager pour certains leur nomination au presti-
gieux Dikalo Awards 2019. Je vous encourage également
à venir visiter et participer à la première édition du Salon
Entreprendre, culture et bien-être. Des exposants qui n’at-
tendent que vous... Alors, à vos emplettes et bon Festival!

Each year the International PanAfricain Film Festival gives
us the opportunity to share exceptional moments. This 16th
edition guarantees a time full of emotions with a selection
of over 60 films to present. You will have the opportunity to
witness works featured from all corners of the world. Film-
makers and their teams will be in attendance to support
and encourage each other especially those who are nomi-
nated for the prestigious Dikalo Award 2019. I also welcome
you to visit and partake in the first edition of the Entrepre-
neurship Salon for Culture and Well-Being. We have exhibi-
tors who are here waiting just for you. So happy shopping

N I CA Il y a 4 ans, je poussais les portes de ce festival dans l’espoir de participer

à la promotion de la Culture Panafricaine. Je ne savais pas vraiment ce qui m’at-
DI R tendait si ce n’est de participer au bon déroulement du festival international du
film panafricain de Cannes.
Qu’est-ce que le FIFP d’après moi ? Tout d’abord la richesse du festival !
S’il y a une chose que j’ai constaté chaque année et depuis mon arrivée, c’est
la variété du programme. A chaque édition, l’Afrique et/ou sa diaspora sont mise
lumière. Les œuvres projetées cette année viennent du Burkina Faso, du Mozam-
bique, d’Ethiopie, du Cameroun, de Martinique, des Etats-unis, du Canada…. La
liste est longue.
Ensuite les rencontres ! Cher(e) cinéphile j’ai un scoop pour vous. Les
équipes techniques ne se contentent pas seulement de soumettre leurs œuvres
au FIFP. La plupart d’entre elles se déplace jusqu’à Cannes. J’ai eu l’occasion
d’échanger avec certains d’entre eux. Cher(e) festivalier(e), j’ai un scoop pour
vous : ce privilège peut aussi être le vôtre. Vous n’avez qu’une chose à faire : vous
laisser guider par ce programme.
A l’orée de cette 16ème édition du festival International du Film Panafri-
cain de Cannes, je vous convie à cette fête du brassage culturel. J’espère que
vous aussi vous prendrez plaisir à célébrer le panafricanisme à travers l’image, les
conférences et le Salon Entreprendre, Culture et Bien-Être. Panafricaniste, je le

Four years ago, I entered the Festival doors in the hopes of helping to
promote the Pan-African Culture. I did not really know what was waiting for me
other than to be a part of the smoothly run International Pan-African Film Festival
in Cannes.
So what is the FIFP in my opinion? First of all the I will address the richness
of the festival! If there is one thing I have seen every year for the last 4 years, it is
the variety of the program. Every year, Africa and its diaspora are highlighted. The
works projected this year come from Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Came-
roon, Martinique, the United States, Canada....the list goes on.
Next I will address the interactions! Dear reader, I have a scoop for you. The
filmmaker’s technical teams do not just submit their work to the FIFP, most of them
travel to Cannes. I had the opportunity to interact with most of them. Dear public,
I have a scoop for you: this privilege can also be yours. You only have one thing to
do: let yourself be guided by this program.

national du Film Panafricain de Cannes. C’est la 3ème année consécutive
que je participe en tant que membre de l’équipe organisatrice de ce mer-
veilleux événement. J’ai rejoint l’équipe en 2016 et je suis devenu agent de
liaison pour l’Amérique du Nord, du Sud ainsi que des pays anglophones.
Cette expérience m’a donné le privilège de rencontrer de nombreux pro-
fessionnels du cinéma. Leurs œuvres avaient un point commun: l’Afrique et
sa diaspora.
Originaire du Canada, j’apporte ma contribution en mettant à
la disposition du Festival mes compétences en français et en anglais. Cet
atout majeur permet à notre organisation d’élargir notre communication
pour toucher le monde entier. Cette belle énergie se reflète dans la diversi-
té des films qui seront en projection durant cette édition. Par ailleurs, je vous
conseille de prendre le temps de visiter le Salon Entreprendre Culture &
bien-être. Vous rentrerez chez vous avec un bon souvenir de Cannes. Nous
vous souhaitons la bienvenue à tous nos événements qui commencent par
la cérémonie d’ouverture (le 17 avril) à celle de clôture (le 21 avril) sans
oublier le prestigieux Dîner de gala au Martinez.

I am pleased to be present for the 16th edition of the International
Pan-African Film Festival in Cannes. This is now my 3rd consecutive year
as a team member for this wonderful event. I joined the team in 2016 and
became the liaison for North and South America and all other English-spea-
king nations. The experience has given me the privilege of connecting with
a large number of wonderful film professionals who have been eager to
share their works, all which have one thing in common: Africa and its dias-
pora.
Being from Canada, I’ve been able to provide support to the
team and the festival in both French and in English. We have been able to
expand our communication to reach each corner of the world and this is
reflected in the diversity of the films which will be presented to you this year.
MERRYL NDEMA- Please take the time to visit the Entrepreneurship Salon for Culture and Well-
Being. It will ensure you leave Cannes with something concrete to remem-

Maklor est de retour pour la quatrième année consécutive pour présenter la 16e
édition du festival. Il animera les cérémonies d’ouverture et de clôture ainsi que la
soirée de gala!
Maklor a présenté plusieurs émissions comme «On fait le plein» sur la chaîne locale
LMTV ainsi que les bulletins météo pour la chaîne internationale TV5Monde (qui est
reçue dans 257 millions de foyers et plus de 200 pays et territoires dans le monde).
Il a été chroniqueur conso sur la chaîne Direct8 dans l’émission « Mon bien-être
» présentée par Caroline Ithurbide et le Docteur Jean-Michel Cohen. En 2016 il
incarne l’émission «24hMédia» sur Star 24 où entouré de chroniqueurs il décrypte
les infos du PAF. Enfin à la rentrée 2017, il a rejoint LCI pour la présentation des infos
météorologiques. On le retrouve à la présentation des bulletins lors des matinales
week-end.
Maklor a suivi une formation en Journalisme à l’Académie d’audiovisuel de Paris où
il a créé le magazine d’informations «ID’MAG» dirigée par Michèle Cotta.
En parallèle de la TV Maklor a officié en tant que Maître de Cérémonie/Présentateur
lors de nombreux événements en France et à l’étranger: Cérémonies de distinc-
tions, Modération de débats, Forums, Concerts/Plateaux d’artistes, Séminaires.
