Start and pre-race meeting A pre-race meeting will be held 15 minutes before the start of each event, at the start line. During this meeting, details of the courses and regulations will be pro- vided. Your presence is required for the smooth running of the event. Start TRIATHLON : The start takes place at the beach of the Bay-of-Magog. Start DUATHLON : The start takes place close to the finish line (as indicated). During the race Course TAll course maps are available on the event website Click on the tab ATHLETES INFO Swim The wetsuit will be allowed if the temperature of the water measured on the mor- ning of the race is below 22O Celsius. It is mandatory if the temperature is below 15.9O Celsius and prohibited if the water temperature is above 24.6O Celsius. Wearing the bathing cap provided by the organization is mandatory. In case of latex allergy, please consult an official. Bike The Olympic and 1/2 long distance courses will be open or partially open to traffic. Be cautious. All other cycling routes will be closed. There will be two refueling sta- tions for the 1/2 long distance. Importante note 1/2 long distance Please take note to an Eco friendly message. Our organization wishes to reduce as much as possible its ecological footprint. To achieve our goal, we are implementing certain measures to offer a high-quali- ty competition for all athletes, while reducing the amount of waste produced as a by-product of our activities. As an eco-friendly event, we wish to inform you that the ONE aid station, on the ½ long distance triathlon, will no longer offer water bottles to the athletes. Jugs of 9
water and the sports drink X1 will be placed on tables for athletes who wish to fill their bottles based on their needs. Volunteers will be present to assist the athletes who will stop for a few seconds at the aid stations. Gels and bananas will still be offered by our volunteers, without requiring athletes to completely stop. For your information, athletes generally need three bottles in order to properly hydrate during the bike portion of the triathlon. Hence, it is easy for an athlete to carry a sufficient amount of liquids to remain hydrated. For example, an athlete can place two bottles behind their saddle and one on their aerobars or place two bott- les on their bike frame and one on their aerobars, depending on their preference. Finally, it is not permitted to throw empty bottles or any other trash onto the road or it’s surroundings. Each athlete is responsible for carrying whatever trash they create with them and then throwing it away in the proper bins that can be found on site. Run The run takes place on an asphalt bike path. You will find 4 water stations on the 5 km loop; A 5th water station is offered for the 1/2 long distance. Important note - AQUABIKE You must be wearing your running shoes when you cross the finish line. After the race Post race meal A post-race meal will be offered to participants under the big white tent on presen- tation of the bib number. For 1/2 long distance participants, a beer and pizza slice will also be offered. Medals A participation medal will be awarded to all athletes crossing the finish line. Medal presentations will take place on the belvedere, near the finish line. There will be podiums for the top 3 in each category. In addition, there will also be a po- dium for the top 3 by age group for the Canadian Duathlon Championships and the COMBO Quebec Cup. The medals by age category of the other distances will be distributed at the medal table. 10
