Built at the beginning of the 20th century to commemorate Sainte Thérèse of Lisieux, also known as Sainte Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, the Basilica
was consecrated in 1954. With a surface area of 4,500 m2 and a 95 m high dome, it is one of the largest churches built during the 20th century. Its size and interior
decoration impress visitors from around the world. France’s second sanctuary after Lourdes, the Basilica of Sainte Thérèse is a must-see site of pilgrimage in Lisieux! It is

Located in the heart of the Pays d’Auge at the gates of Lisieux and its Basilica, discover this cidery estate at the foot
of the hillside orchards, formerly known as the Pré des Vignes, in reference to the vines once grown on this site. It
is this beautiful south-facing exposure that gives flavour to the orchard’s various apple varieties which are used in
the production of the different products made at the cidery. Ghislaine Davy took over from Mr Daufresne after his
retirement, committing to an approach of the highest quality and elegance while
respecting nature and banning the use of all phytosanitary products on trees. Vistors are welcome to visit the cidery
on weekdays in the morning, where they can discover, taste and buy products, as well as watch the various stages of
apple picking and pressing, mainly between October and November when cider-making is in full swing. Daufresne
cider is a must at any Côte Fleurie dinner table. A regular award-winner at the general agricultural competition in
Paris, this tipple is particularly well-known among Parisian holidaymakers.
