rythmique et rapide: mon artiste préféré est Beyoncé! J’écoute la musique pop tous les jours mais,

En plus, mes amis pensent que la musique classique est ennuyeuse! Avec mes grand parents, nous écoutons
le jazz parce que ma grand-mère l’adore! A mon avis, le jazz est cool et je m’intéresse les instruments.

Lesson 3: Ce que j’écoute (What I listen to) – Present tense:
L’objectif: Am I able to apply the present tense to explain what music I
normally listen to?
In and On: Change the pictures to words, to make full sentences.
Rastrick High School Home Learning Booklet Year 9 French: Half Term 1 - Mon temps libre - My free time
Task 1: Present tense -er verbs.
In French, verbs end in -er, -ir, or -re when they are in their infinitive form. This means that we don’t know
the tense, or who (the subject pronoun), yet. We need to conjugate the infinitive depending on the tense
we want to use and the subject pronoun e.g. I, you, we etc.
To conjugate -er verbs into the present tense (what you are doing/normally do) we need to take off the -er
ending and replace it with the following verb endings depending on who is doing the action. See the table
below to help (we will be using the -er verb écouter – to listen to):

So, j’écoute = I listen to. Can you complete the list below?
   - I listen to = J’écoute
   - You listen to (s.) =
   - He/she listens to =
   - We listen to =
   - You listen to (pl.) =
   - They listen to =

   • Nous allons = We are going - envoyer (to send)
