Dr. Anna Vanesyan
Born in Yerevan, Armenia to a family of musicians, Dr. Anna Vanesyan (maiden name
Budaghyan) began her piano studies at the age of five. She studied and graduated from
Tchaikovsky Special Music School for Gifted Children with a Gold Medal for academic
excellence.

Anna holds both BA and MA in Piano Performance, Accompaniment and Piano
Teaching Honors degrees from Yerevan Komitas State Music Conservatory
(http://www.conservatory.am/en/). She also completed her Post Graduate degree in
Piano Performance.

Since 1993 Anna Vanesyan has been working as a performer, accompanist and
pedagogue at various teaching levels from music schools to the Yerevan State
Conservatory as an associate professor and was heard in performances of chamber
music and as vocal/instrumental accompanist.

From 2006 to 2009, as a recipient of a prestigious fellowship from the US government,
Anna was completing her Doctoral program in Piano Performance at BSU School of
Music, Indiana, USA with Chamber Music/Accompanying as the secondary
emphasis. She was studying with well-known music professors Dr. James Helton (piano
performance) and Dr. Lory Rhoden (piano pedagogy), and working in the studio of a
distinguished percussion professor Dr. E. Mueller, as a collaborative pianist.

During her studies in the US, she was regularly invited to perform at festivals, adjudicate
various competitions and auditions, conduct workshops and master classes. She was
honored to perform a world premier of a piano reduction of Flute Concerto written by
American composer Don Freund at the Festival of New Music, organized at Ball State
University, Muncie, IN, USA.

Currently, Anna Vanesyan resides in Toronto, ON, Canada. She is the founder & artistic
director of Arts & MusiCom Educational Academy (https://www.artsandmusicom.ca/).
Anna is an affiliate at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists at
the     Glenn      Gould     School      (The     Royal   Conservatory    of   Music).

Anna is also an active member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association
(https://ormta.org/Sys/PublicProfile/8438184/4062390).

During the last five years, Anna Vanesyan completed extensive work as the literature
editor of many publications about distinguished Armenian musicians. As of now, four
publications — three monographs and one book, were published.

Dr. Jolán Kovács
Equally a master in classical piano and violin, Jolán was a double   scholarship recipient
at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal where she studied        as a young child for
nearly ten years. Her piano teachers included Dorothy Morton,        Anton Kuerti, Raoul
Sosa, and Manahem Pressler. She studied violin with Eleonora         Turovsky, Raymond
Dessaints, Denise Lupien, Tom Williams and Gerard Kantajrjian.

As an award-winning performer in many provincial and national competitions on both
instruments, Jolán discovered that she had a secondary passion for teaching. After
completed a performance degree at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University,
Jolán continued her studies at McGill obtaining a PhD in Music Education Research and
has many publications to her name.

With over 30 years of teaching experience, Jolán is an in-demand music educator who
successfully prepares her students for music careers and is currently on faculty at the
Schulich School of Music of McGill University. She often serves as an adjudicator in
music festivals and music exams.

Since 1996, Jolán is the Co-Founder and Project Coordinator of KoSA Music – an
international rown music education events company which hosts workshops and music
festival world-wide.

Jean Ai Seow L.R.A.M.
A native of Singapore, Jean Ai Seow left her homeland at age 16 under full scholarship
to study at the Royal Academy of music in London, England. At the Royal Academy, she
studied violin with Lionel Bentley and Clarence Myerscough, chamber music with Jean
Harvey and orchestral training under Maurice Handford, obtaining her Professional
Certificate and Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music. As a student she was invited
to perform as a guest violinist for a Gala concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields.

Ms. Seow went on to study in Paris with Bernard Mathern at the École Normale de
Musique, where she obtained her Diplôme supérieur d’exécution. Upon her return to
Singapore, she joined the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, touring Asia and Europe.
Jean Ai was a member of the Jeunes Virtuoses de Montréal, the Orchestre
Symphonique de Trois-Rivières and the Montreal Chamber Orchestra. She has also
played with the Ensemble contemporain de Montréal and the McGill Chamber
Orchestra.

She is currently a member of the Orchestre symphonique de Laval and the Orchestre
des Grands Ballets Canadiens. Jean Ai also plays regularly with the Orchestre
Métropolitain, with whom she toured Europe in November 2017, performing in the
prestigious Concertgebouw and the Philharmonie de Paris.Having taught in many
schools in Singapore and in Montreal, Ms. Seow now teaches violin privately at home. In
the summers of 2001 and 2002, Jean Ai taught violin and chamber music and conducted
the string orchestra at the Montreal International Music Camp. In 2008-2009 she
conducted two string ensembles at the Lambda School of Music and Fine Arts, one for
children and one for adults.

In April 2006, Jean Ai performed the Bach Double Concerto with Richard Roberts,
concertmaster of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra for the 20th anniversary concert of
the West Island Youth Symphony Orchestra (WIYSO) of which she is the conductor of
the Youth String Orchestra since 1995. In February 2010 she was again featured as a
soloist with WIYSO, performing the famous Chinese violin concerto “The Butterfly
Lovers” to rave reviews by the local Chinses press. In January 2016 Ms. Seow joined
the Société pour les arts en milieu de santé (SAMS) playing solo violin to residents and
patients in nursing homes and hospitals.
