21 Les oreilles :
Monter 4 mailles sur les aiguilles de 6mm, tricoter 1 rang
endroit puis 1 rang envers. Au rang 3, poursuivre en jer-
sey et augmenter de chaque côté de l’ouvrage à 1 maille
du bord en faisant 1 jeté. Au rang 4 tricoter les jetés
torses pour éviter de former un jour.
12 Continuer ainsi pendant 20 rangs, en augmentant à 1
maille du bord de chaque côté de l’ouvrage tous les
rangs impairs.
Mettre les 22 mailles obtenues en attente.
Tricoter la deuxième oreille exactement de la même
façon.

On va maintenant commencer le bonnet et joindre les oreilles.
Monter 10 mailles sur l’aiguille circulaire de 6mm. A la suite tricoter (sur l’endroit) les 22 mailles d’une des
oreilles. A la suite monter 24 mailles puis tricoter les 22 mailles de l’autre oreille. Monter encore 10 mailles,
joindre en mettant un anneau marqueur pour marquer le début du tour.
On va former un petit bord en côtes 2/2. Comme le tour débute au milieu de l’arrière du bonnet, com-
mencer par 2 mailles envers puis 2 mailles endroit puis 2 mailles envers, 2 mailles endroit et enfin 2
mailles envers. Tricoter à l’endroit les 22 mailles d’oreille, les 24 mailles suivantes en côtes 2/2, les 22
mailles de la seconde oreille à l’endroit puis les 10 dernières mailles en côtes 2/2 en commençant par 2
mailles endroit.
Continuer ainsi pendant 4 rangs.
Mettre le compte rangs à 0, puis tricoter en jersey endroit pendant 40 rangs. Au rang 41 tricoter toutes
les mailles 2 par 2, passer sur les aiguilles double pointes, tricoter 2 rangs en jersey endroit. Au rang 44
tricoter de nouveau toutes les mailles ensemble 2 par 2, puis passer le fil à travers les mailles restantes
pour fermer le bonnet.
Retourner le bonnet avant de rentrer les fils car l’endroit est sur le jersey envers!!
Pour faire les ficelles, planter le crochet dans la pointe des oreilles, doubler le fil et faire une chaînette de
40 mailles.
Faire ensuite 2 pompons d’à peu près 4cm de diamètre (voir document annexe) et les coudre au bas des
chaînettes.

3LES POMPONS RONDS
Pour faire un pompon rond, il faut tout d’abord décou-
per 2 disques troués dans du carton.
Ensuite, il faut superposer les 2 cartons et
enrouler le fil plein de fois tout autour de ces
2 cartons.
Quand les cartons sont bien recouverts de plu-
sieurs couches de fil (plus il y a de fil plus le pom-
pon sera fourni), les écarter un petit peu, glisser
la lame des ciseaux entre eux et découper délica-
tement les brins de laine entre les 2 anneaux de
carton en suivant la forme du rond.
Passer un brin de laine entre les anneaux et nouer en
serrant très fort.
Sortir le pompon des anneaux en carton
en les découpant au besoin, et égaliser le
pompon.

21 The earflaps :
Cast on 4 stitches en the 6mm needles, knit 1 row then
purl 1 row. At row 3, continue in stockinette and increase
on each side of the work 1 stitch from the border yarning
over. At row 4 knit the yarn over twited in order not to
make a hole.
12 Continue like this during 20 rows, increasing 1 sitch from
the border on each side of the work every 2 rows.
Put the 22 stitches obtained on a holder.
Knit the second earflap the same way.

Now we are going to begin the hat and join the ears.
Cast on 10 stitches on the circular needles. Just after (on the right side) knit the 22 stitches of one of the
ears. Just after cast on 24 stitches then knit the 22 stitches of the other ear. Cast on 10 stitches again,
join and place a stitch marker.
Now make a little rib in k2/p2. As the round begin in the middle of the back of the hat, start purling 2 stit-
ches, then knit 2, then purl 2, knit 2, purl 2. Knit the 22 stitches of the earflap, rib the next 24 stitches, knit
the 22 stitches of the next earflap then rib the last 10 stitches beginning with 2 knitted stitches. Continue-
like this during 4 rows.
Set the row counter on 0, then knit during 40 rows. At row 41 knit all the stitches together 2 at a time,
pass the work on the double pointed needles, knit 2 rows. At row 44 knit all the stitches together 2 at a
time again, then pass the thread through the last stitches to close the hat.
To make the strings, put the crochet hook in the point of the earflap, double the yarn and chain 40.
Then make 2 x 4cm diameter pompons (see apeendix) and sew them to the chains .

6POMPONS
To make a pompon, you have to cut 2 disks of card-
board with a hole in it.
Then superpose the 2 cardboards and wind
the thread a lot of times around the 2 card-
boards.
When the cardboards are covered with a lot of
layers of thread (the more thread you wind the
thicker the pompon will be), separate them a little
bit, slip the scissors blade between them and
gently cut the threads between the cardboards
following their shape.
Pass a piece of thread between the cardboards and
make a tight knot.
Take the pompon out of the carboards
cuting them if you need, and equalize the
pompon.
