Thank you for your Canadian Gunner News. I enjoy reading it. It is quite readable and not too long!
I retired from the CF under the provision of FRP 95 and have enjoyed retirement since. In 1996 the Executive Director of the
Conference of Defence Associations, gunner Lieutenant-Colonel Vic Coroy, asked me to come on board as public affairs officer.
I stayed with the Conference of Defence Associations until 2015, when I co-wrote with Lieutenant-Colonel Coroy the history of
the CDA Institute that was set up by another gunner, Colonel Ben Shapiro, and of the Vimy Award of which I was the manager
from 2000 until 2014. It was an enjoyable experience, having met many outstanding Canadians, from the Chief Justice of
Canada (two of who were Honorary Colonels of 30th Fd Regt) to Master Warrant Officer Willy MacDonald.
My wife and I moved to Niagara, in 2017, thinking that I would enjoy a quiet retirement. Instead, I hold membership in five
organisations. I am grateful that I can enjoy such activities.

An excellent publication that I look forward to seeing each time it is published. I am a bit sorry about links to articles that I must
have a way to 'log in'. An example is the story in the Fredericton Gleaner about the CO of the RCAS was not available unless I
subscribed. Logging in to Facebook articles is not one of my favourite pastimes as I am not a fan of Facebook.
In any event, I applaud all who have a hand in the publication. I know it is not easy and requires great effort and hard work.

In the news, The Royal Canadian Mint has released two coins to
commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day. The coins were inspired
by the Juno Beach Center logo which features a soldier being re-
assured as he disembarks onto the beaches of Normandy. The identity
of that soldier is finally revealed.

The Mons Gun - Legion Magazine sat down with Tim Cook, author
and historian at the Canadian War Museum, to discuss the Museum’s Watch
recent acquisition of a Canadian 18-pounder field gun that is said to
have fired its last shots at Mons immediately before the armistice was
signed in a railroad car outside Compiégne, France, terminating the
slaughter at about nine million soldiers on all sides, including 68,000
Canadians.
The Mons Gun - an interview with WO (Ret'd) Glenn Miller in
conjunction with the Last 100 Days Exhibit at the Canadian War Watch
Museum. Legion Magazine sat down with Retired Warrant Officer
Glenn Miller to discuss the history behind the Canadian 18-pounder
field gun recently acquired (on loan) to the Canadian War Museum.

No other bronze is located in Canada that we are aware of. One of the potential aspects of the projects is
