LE PHA RE DE CORDOUA N
Le phare de Cordouan (inscrit sur la liste du
patrimoine mondial de l’UNESCO), situé sur
la pointe de l’estuaire de la Gironde, est le plus
ancien phare de France encore en activité. Il
continue d’être habité à l’année par des gardiens
et ouvert à la visite.
Appelé parfois « Versailles des mers » ou encore
« Roi des phares », il se distingue des autres
phares par une architecture grandiose et une
histoire hors du commun.
