Thibault started playing guitar at the age of 7 and completed his degrees in Classical guitar, Music Theory, Music
History and Chamber Music (the latter at the age of 13), at the Music Conservatory of Nancy (C.N.R. de Nancy). He
then perfected his classical guitar studies at the prestigious post-graduate Music Conservatory of Paris (Conservatoire
National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris), taking part in Roland Dyens’ and Jean-Marc Zvellereuther’s
classes and graduating in 2001, three years after his enrollment, with highest distinction. Prior to his studies in CNSM,
he was enrolled in C.N.R de la Courneuve under Alberto PONCE (France). He also participated in master classes with
Jourgos PANETSOS (Greece), Vladimir MIKULKA (Rép. Tchèque), Claudio MARCOTULLI (Italy), Philippe VILLA
(France), Eduardo CATEMARIO (Italy), Roberto AUSSEL to name a few.
His teaching career began right after, first of all at the Nancy Conservatory, where he served three years as a guitar
teacher, and secondly at the Music Conservatory of Luxembourg, where he works as a classical guitar professor.
Parallel to that, he is holding guitar classes at the European School in Luxembourg.
His resume includes several international prizes (Italy, England, France).
As a musician, he is actively involved in different projects encompassing various styles, from jazz to tango, from electro
to classical music. As a composer, he is currently working on several arrangement and musical pieces.

OBJECTIFS ET CONTENU DU COURS DE CHANT – Yvan Besseling
Durant les cours, les élèves apprendront et, se perfectionneront au chant.
Au programme : l’étude de la mélodie, savoir poser sa voix, éduquer son oreille, travail sur le texte, travail des vocalises
et sens du phrasé. Tout au long de l’année, les étudiants pourront choisir (et leur sera proposé) un répertoire de
chansons. Le choix des morceaux étudiés puisera dans les répertoires francophone et anglophone ainsi que dans des
styles différents (pop/rock/chanson à texte/….)

Course Description:
The electric guitar is a well-known instrument that has been a standard in bands and musical groups. It is an expressive
and versatile instrument that crosses almost all genres of music.
This course suits interested students who are beginners or in an intermediate level of guitar playing. The course aims

Pop Acoustic Guitar
Course Description:
The Acoustic guitar is a popular instrument used in many genres of music. The sound is produced by vibrating strings
resonating with the help of the body of the guitar. The sound it produces is natural and vibrant- that is why many
popular artists and singer-songwriters choose this instrument.
This course suits interested students who are beginners or in an intermediate level of guitar playing. The course aims
to cover the basics of acoustic guitar (chords, strumming techniques, tablature reading, and learning how to sing and
play their favorite songs).
*For intermediate students, the class will tackle performance, finger style techniques, song writing, and guitar looping
(optional).

Ma méthode est basée sur les pièces classiques et modernes avec l'accompagnement orchestral, permettant à l'élève,
de faire partie d'un ensemble. Cette méthode permet aux enfants (à partir de 4 ans) de commencer le voyage musical
en apprenant le rythme et la notation à travers les jeux et comptes musicaux. Les parents sont bienvenus, s'ils
souhaitent participer à la leçon, surtout chez les touts petits.

Descriptif du cours:
J' attends les plus petits élèves à partir de cinq ans, auxquels je fais connaitre le violon en jouant (et en chantant, en
frappant les mains,...). Ensuite, j'applique l'école méthodique russe, Suzuki. Cet école est basée sur la technique et la
musicalité. Je donne aussi une introduction au solfège lors de mes cours, parce que la musique est basée sur le rythme
et sur les notes. Quant aux plus agés, je choisis en fonction de leur niveau des pièces et je joue aussi avec plaisir de la
musique de chambre avec eux.
J' ai fait mon expérience au Conservatoire Béla Bartók à Budapest et à l’Académie Musicale Musashino à Tokyo. J' ai
joué pendant 13 ans sous le direction de Iván Fischer à Budapest Festival Orchestra. Actuellement je joue à l' OPL et
au sein d’autres orchestres de chambre.

Karen O’Brien has been teaching violin in Luxembourg for the past 29 years. She is a graduate of Manhattan School of
Music, NYC, and a member of the Orchestre de chamber de Luxembourg for the past 32 years. She speaks English,
German and some French/Luxembourgish.
Violin instruction involves learning to read music, if not already known. She prepares students desiring ABRSM exam
participation, grades prep-Grade 8. She also prepares ABRSM theory. Instruction varies according to the student,
materials range from USA based, to Suzuki, Sassmanhauser, Neuhaus, and the usual etude progressions and solo
pieces, including concertos. As students progress from rudimentary mastering of holding the violin and bow, playing in
rhythm, in tune, position work and vibrato follows. The student will have a balance of technique and mastering solos,
accompanied by piano. The piano is used during most lessons to assist in rhythm and intonation attainment.
A violin and bow of the appropriate size are needed for the lesson. A music stand at home is helpful for home practice.
She can help parents find or rent a violin if needed.

The weekly, one-on-one piano lessons are designed to meet the specific needs of individual students. The lessons
consist of sight reading (playing), music theory, ear training, and repertoire with positive reinforcement and are
tailored to the student's ability and progress. The students also learn to play piano ensemble repertoire with other
piano students, their parents, or students with different instruments, to further the enjoyment of learning and playing
music. The students participate in class recitals and other performance opportunities throughout the year.
Parents are asked to assist the students at home with their daily practice to establish good learning habits.
Material: must own an acoustic piano or a digital piano with 88 keys at home

Profile: Despoina has 16 years of teaching experience as a piano, theory (solfege) and music teacher in primary and
secondary schools, nurseries, music schools and schools for children with special needs. She has won 6 Awards and
received the distinction of “Excellence” in national music competitions. She has participated in many concerts, in Tv
and radio programms
Course description: The piano teaching method is student-centered. It combines elements from various methods,
including the ones of Dalcroze, Kodaly, Music Awards for little Mozarts (teaching system of Mozart combined with
modern learning software). This diversified approach is intended to adapt the teaching method according to student
age, need and level. Specific methods are used for children with learning disabilities or special education needs. Young
children (ages 4-6 years-old) are taught to play the piano through musical activities.They improvise and develop their
sense of rhythm. Older children, along with approved methods of teaching piano, choose their favorite songs. The
songs are taught in a manner that corresponds to individual levels. The goal is to help students improve their technique
and listening skills. Advanced students are able to compose their own melodies and record their composition in a
storage medium. At the end of the academic year, students participate in a concert.

Sebastian Plata est collaborateur de l'Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg depuis 2011, ainsi que clarinettiste
de l’Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg. professeur au Grand-Duché de Luxembourg dans de nombreux écoles
internationales comme Saint-Georges, International School of Luxembourg ou l'École Européenne de Luxembourg.
Le cours de clarinette comprend plusieurs volets : technique de jeu, solfège, théorie musicale, la coordination
rythmique.L'enseignement de la clarinette se compose d'un cours individuel de 30, 45 minutes et selon le niveau et la
motivation, d'un cours de formation musicale de 1h, et d'une pratique à la maison de l’eleve hebdomadaire.

A partir de 5 ans. De débutant à confirmé. Cours individuels.
Apprendre à jouer d'un instrument d'abord, la théorie ensuite. Des comptines à la musique irlandaise en passant par des airs
connus ou des musiques de films, la méthode orale est très motivante et bien adaptée à l'éveil musical des plus jeunes et des
débutants, avec pour ambition le plaisir de jouer rapidement de la musique.
Apprendre à jouer du Tin Whistle est un jeu d'enfant. La transmission orale, basée sur un travail de mémoire, permet
l'apprentissage de manière ludique des bases de la théorie musicale et favorise le développement de l'écoute (de soi et des
autres).
Les élèves intermédiaires et avancés sont aussi les bienvenus pour une étude approfondie du répertoire de la musique
irlandaise.
Cours de flûte traversière en bois pour les élèves intermédiaires et avancés à partir de 10/12 ans.
Un instrument à prix modéré (8-10€) peut être fourni ou loué (flûte traversière) par le professeur.
