FIA Int. Hill Climb Cup 2020 – drivers from
many countries back in Osnabrück
The FIA Int. Hill Climb Cup is the second most important championship in international hill
climbing. The Int. 53rd Hill Climb Race Osnabrück on 1-2 August 2020 will host
the German round of this prestigious FIA series. Motorsport fans can again look
forward to stupendous cars and thrilling on-track action both in the touring car
and the open sports car categories. In 2019 it was for the first time Frenchman
and Uphöfener Berg favourite Sébastien Petit who brought home the Cup at
the end of the season in his two-seater Norma. At the FIA hill climb prizegiving
ceremony in Trento (Italy) a few weeks ago he intimated that he is definitely
planning to race again at Osnabrück in 2020.

nouveau à Osnabrück en 2020.

La FIA Int. Hill Climb Cup è il secondo più importante campionato internazionale nelle salite. Il 1° e 2 agosto 2020, la

The E-mobile Hill Climb Cup is getting increa-
sing attention
The Int. 53rd Hill Climb Race Osnabrück on 1-2 August 2020 will also see the 8th edi-
tion of the E-mobile Hill Climb Cup, the Stadtwerke Osnabrück Grand Prix. The size of
the grid will again be limited. Already in 2019 the organisers could easily have filled
twice the 26 starting slots available. The future of mobility is one of the hot topics in
society in general, and so MSC Osnabrück will continue to give the E-cup its due as part
of the overall event. It will include electric and hybrid vehicles, but also other forward-
looking technologies (eg hydrogen vehicles). In addition, a wider range of cars including
sports prototypes will be presented, with a particular focus on the competitive aspect.
La Coupe course de côte e-mobile attire de plus en plus l'attention
Les 1er et 2 août 2020, la 53e Course de côte Int. d’Osnabrück accueillera également la 8ème édition de la Coupe
course de côte e-mobile, le Grand Prix de Stadtwerke Osnabrück. Le nombre d’engagés sera à nouveau limité. Déjà en

Gorgeous cars and driver friends from Luxembourg
The Luxembourg hill climb championship is a big hit in neighbouring countries, with around 20 cars
participating in the championship rounds and organisers always happy to welcome the friendly dri-
vers from the Grand Duchy. Demand is increasing, and the Int. 53rd Hill Climb Race Osnabrück on 1-2
August 2020 is proud to be hosting another round of the prestigious Luxembourg championship. In
2020 the championship season will consist of 10 rounds for the first time, of which the Uphöfener
Berg race will be the 9th, when the season is already in its final stages.

Le championnat du Luxembourg des courses de côte est un grand succès dans les
pays voisins. Il y a une vingtaine de voitures qui participent aux manches du cham-

Particular fan favourites
Their cars are lovingly called “Racing Princes”. When racing up the hill against the clock
the drivers are on their own, but in the paddock they are a close-knit community. They
help each other out if one of them has a technical issue, and they enjoy spending time
with fellow petrolheads over a sausage and a beer in the evenings. The NSU hill climb cup has many fans at the Osnab-
rück hill climb race, including G.U.T. Handel, an Osnabrück company. Drivers and their families are already planning for
the 1-2 August weekend at Uphöfener Berg, and everyone is looking forward to getting together again in the paddock.

Visit to the Volkswagen collection
The network of the Osnabrück hill climb race includes more than 150
high-profile companies from the Osnabrück region and beyond. A few
times a year MSC Osnabrück invites them to exciting networking events, which usually
focus on particular topics. This time they met at the Volkswagen collection in Osnab-
rück. The collection showcases many Volkswagen models as well as prototypes and very
special cars by what used to be Karmann car manufacturers. Around 120 representati-
ves from companies and public authorities also enjoyed watching the official video clip
from the Int. 52nd Hill Climb Race Osnabrück and were particularly impressed with the
onboard video of European champion Christian Merli’s record run, both of which
brought back fond memories of the 2019 event.
