36th Townshippers’ Day
Communiqué
The 36th Townshippers’ Day will be held on Saturday,
September 12, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Brome
Fairgrounds. Hosted by the Town of Brome Lake and Brome
Village, T-Day will feature the very best of Brome and celebrate
the vitality of the English-speaking community through a day of
activities, exhibitors and entertainment for all ages!
Along with 90 exhibitors, the day will feature an antique car
show, demonstrations of sheep shearing, rug hooking and wood
carving. Throughout the day enjoy live entertainment from groups
such as the Knowlton Harmony Band, Foster Grit, Pot Pourri
Choir, Silverado, the Black Watch Pipes and Drums and many
more. Just for kids, this year’s event will feature games and activi-
ties at a mini-farm and a straw maze to be solved.
This green friendly festival will also have a variety of food
options on-site or visitors can bring their own picnic lunch, please
remember to keep the event environmentally friendly by bringing assothérapie
reusable or recyclable containers.
Volunteers are also needed for Townshippers’ Day. To help out Lac Brome

Miscellaneous – The strategic planning for 2015-2020 was
adopted. The list of properties in default of payment of municipal
taxes was tabled and deposited at Town Hall.
Adoption of bylaws – Bylaw 569.1 was adopted. This bylaw
authorizes certain civil servants to act in the name of the town for
the payment of certain expenditures. Many minor exemption
requests were accepted.

Le chemin Lakeside sera fermé pendant trois mois à partir du
21 août pour la réparation du pont près de l’Auberge Lac-Brome.
Questions – Un groupe de citoyens a déposé une pétition
signée par 1100 personnes qui demandent la tenue d’un référen-
dum sur la construction du centre aquatique. Le conseil répondra à
la prochaine séance. Plusieurs personnes demandent que les
chemins soient réparés plutôt que de construire une piscine. Est-ce
que la Fondation CARKE est d’accord avec les résultats du

de la Fondation pour l’année 2014. La Fondation est un organisme
privé, la Ville n’a pas juridiction là-dessus.
Administration – Grâce à une entente de subvention du pro-
gramme Climat Sol, la ville est à décontaminer le site du vieux
garage municipal. Une entente avec la ville de Waterloo permettra
aux jeunes de VLB, âgés de 17 ans et moins, d’obtenir un rabais
de 50% sur leurs frais d’inscription pour le hockey et le patinage
artistique à l’aréna de Waterloo. Caroline Cusson est confirmée à
titre de Trésorière de la ville et Directrice des finances.
Varia – Le plan stratégique 2015-2020 est adopté. La liste des

On August 19, sixty-five people met at the Community Centre
to discuss how to resolve the problems facing CIDI.
CIDI is facing financial and regulatory challenges; a total debt
of about $150,000, potential loss of the broadcasting license and
the annual grant from the Quebec government.
Four residents with experience in business, banking and broadcast-
ing: Donald Gray-Donald, Chris Ward, Rob Paterson and Maurice
Singfield offered their services to help resolve these problems.
Voting members of CIDI approved a change in bylaws to broad-
