Pomerolais avec notamment ce Clos du Clocher, don’t le nom révèle la situation et la nature :

Tasted from a sample in the UK, the Clos du Clocher has an exuberant, forward, quite ravishing bouquet my

Bourotte et son équipe. Les lots séparés nous ont séduits, mais le préassemblage mérite encore un peu
d’élaboration. A revoir donc d’ici peu.

This is a creamy, dark and very concentrated wine on inspection. It has a polished and rather appealing
nose, in the confit style that marks a number of wines in this vintage, with a blueberry-cherry feel, coated
with vanilla ice cream. Nicely composed on the palate, showing very appropriate and balanced fruit texture,
with some toffee-laced tannins coming in from underneath, adding to the wines substance and potential. Not
overdone, the tannins are grippy but not out of keeping with the rest of the wine, although the rather soft
acidity does still give it a slightly plush feel, even despite the restrained texture.

The finest Clos du Clocher ever made, the 2009 has an inky bluish/purple color and a big, sweet kiss of black
raspberry liqueur intermixed with blackberries, subtle smoke and spring flowers along with hints of mocha and
coffee. It is full-bodied, rich and pure, with sweet tannin and low acidity. Interestingly enough, the proprietor
always brags that he doesn’t want to make great wine because it would fetch a higher price and he would have
to pay more taxes, but he certainly has done that in 2009. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.

This small estate covers 4.5 hectares very close to Pomerol village. Usually April 2009
representing excellent value for money, the picking here began on 13th
October for the merlot and ended on 17th for the cabernet franc, with very 16-17+/20
healthy grapes that meant levels of sulphur were the lowest since 2005. Nice and birght
Gorgeous colour. 80% merlot, 20% cabernet franc. Well defined ripe fruit, aromatics on the nose
quite a big wine in fact, but with an underlying freshness that keeps it here, with vanilla,
perfectly in balance. Lovely gentle perfume on the nose, excellent. black pepper and

There is always serious complexity and potential from this estate, and I suspect with a stricter
selection, this wine could easily merit a score in the low to mid-nineties in top vintages. The
lovely 2008 offers complex aromas of mocha, berry, forest floor, coffee, and vanilla. Long, with
ripe tannins, lush fruit, and a layered mouthfeel, it tails off in the finish, but it still may turn out to
be outstanding given the low yields and the brilliant quality of this vintage in Pomerol.

Bonalgue, c’est le merlot dans tout son côté soyeux et velouté, dans toute la
splendeur de son charme aromatique. Il se déguste à merveille dès sa mise en
bouteilles et sa rondeur est telle que je vois bien peu de raison de le laisser
vieillir outre mesure. Il en a la capacité mais il peu s’apprécier à tous les stades
de sa vie car il n’est pas du style à se refermer. Ce vin très élégant et très mûr
présente en général une très grande sapidité et des saveurs languissantes
remarquablement fruitées. Sa bouche est voluptueuse, pulpeuse, grasse,
terriblement charmeuse par sa finesse et l’intensité de ses parfums.

délicat au nez, ce 2005 exprime les raisins très mûrs (pruneau) et un boisé discret.
Chaleureux en attaque, il offre une chair à la saveur confiturée et aux tanins mûrs
qui permettront de commencer à le boire d’ici un an ou deux. Le Clos du
Clocher2005 très pomerol mais encore boisé devra attendre un an de plus. Le Ch.

Deliciously fruity, up-front and hedonistic,
this consumer- friendly styled wine from
one of the satellites of St-Emilion has
plenty of black currants, licorice, roasted
herbs and sandy/loamy soal notes. It is
medium-bodied, opulent and round, and
best drunk over the next 45 years.

Rather muted fruit on the nose, with a creamy-chalky plum character. Gently
styled on the palate, with chalky red fruits, albeit somewhat muted like the
nose. Nice substance though, and grippy, perhaps slightly woody, with a firm
somewhat rustic tannic structure. There are some attractive points here though.

has made a very admirable Pomerol from the sandy parcel
adjacent to Clos du Clocher. It has a very composed nose
with crisp red fruits, truffle and a touch of freshly tilled
soil. Good definition. The palate is medium-bodied with
fine tannins, crisp and lithe with great precision and
penetration towards the long, silky finish. Superb. Tasted
November 2011.

Tasted at the Syndicat de Pomerol. The Monregard La Croix has a rounded, well-defined, quite lush
bouquet with raspberry, boysenberry, wild roses and a touch of peach. Good lift from the glass. The
palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, good acidity and structure, just a little dryness towards
the foursquare finish. I feel that it will show much better on the dining table. Tasted December
2010.
