JAMES SUCKLING 93 - 94
« A ripe, beautifully crafted young Bordeaux with chocolate, hazelnut and
berry character. The tannins are round and creamy with a lovely texture.
Makes you want to drink it now. »
JANE ANSON 93
« Unusual blend with not only high Cabernet Franc but a dash of Malbec.
It makes it an atypical St Emilion but a rather lovely one. It’s austere, as you
might expect, but has real juiciness throughout, and you can feel the flesh
of the fruits against the walls of the tannins, with a spicy finish. Look forward
to retasting in bottle. »
JEB DUNNUCK 92 - 94
« Incredibly floral, with lots of red and blue fruits, spring flowers, violets, and
a kiss of candied orange, the 2019 Château Jean Faure is medium to full-
bodied, has a fresh, lively character, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It shows
stunning Cabernet Franc character and is going to need bottle age. Tasted
twice. »

« With a beautiful dark hue, the wine shows a complex set of aromatics,
lush, silky, sexy textures, richness and complexity. The finish exudes a myriad
of spicy red and black fruits, licorice and herbs. Part of what makes this wine
so interesting is the blend featuring a high proportion of Cab Franc in the
mix using 65% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot and 5% Malbec. »CARNET DE NOTES

« Composed of 65% Cabernet Franc, 30% Merlot and 5% Malbec, harvested
from the 16th of September to the 8th of October, the 2019 Jean Faure is
deep garnet-purple in color. The nose comes skipping out of the glass with
notions of freshly crushed blackberries, black raspberries and kirsch with
hints of warm redcurrants, powdered cinnamon, rose hip tea and cloves.
Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers loads of zip and zing, with bright,
cheery red and black fruits and loads of freshness, supported by finely
grained tannins, finishing long and spicy. »

« The 2019 Jean Faure is a fleshly, succulent wine. Raspberry jam, rose
petal, mint, blood orange and sage come together in an unusual wine, in
that it is Cabernet Franc that comes through in the wine’s intensely floral
and savory profile. The 2019 is exotic and alluring, with a ton of character.
Tasted two times. »
NEAL MARTIN
« The 2019 Jean Faure, next door to Cheval Blanc of course, was picked
from 16 September to 8 October and fermented in two-thirds concrete
and one-third oak vats. The vineyard is certified organic. It has a tight-
ly wound bouquet that demands some coaxing, eventually revealing
blackberry, bilberry and light marine aromas. The palate is an odd-one
with liquorice, mulberry and sea salt. The unorthodox blend (65% Caber-
net Franc, 30% Merlot, 5% Malbec) makes it stick out from the rest. If you
want something different than this might be the ticket. »

« Magnifique nez de fruits noirs «al dente», floral, légèrement épices, minéral
et un peu graphite. Complexité dans la fraicheur. Tension magnifique, un
grain de tanin somptueux, de la puissance dans l’allonge. Un Jean Faure
délicat, fin, cristallin et surtout possédant une trame aromatique magnifique.
Tout simplement bravo ! Sera sans conteste l’une des affaires du millésime.

LA REVUE DU VIN DE FRANCE 94 - 95
« L’éclat séduisant de la trame du vin sur des notes de coulis de fruits rouges
ravit le palais dans un tanin soyeux piqué de tension, avec dans la finale
la note de poudre à canon qui signe la tension des cabernets francs et la
maturité ajustée par la faculté des argiles à conserver la fraîcheur. »

« Fruits rouges, fraise, cerise, beaucoup de fraîcheur, bois de réglisse, tanins
fins, déjà fondus, frais, finale tendue, bien en place, élevage élégant. »

TERRE DE VINS 93
« L’échantillon dégusté présente des arômes de fruits en confiture, cassis,
coing et mûre, l’approche annonce un aspect juteux, qui se confirme
en bouche avec des sensations fumées, des tanins très fins, une mâche
savoureuse et douce. On note une expression atypique de l’appellation,
une signature à part. »
YVES BECK 93 - 94
« Pourpre violacé. Bouquet élégant, filigrane, se révélant lentement. Il
affiche des notes florales et des nuances fruitées. Caractère dense et
friand en bouche. Ce vin a du tempérament et de la fraîcheur. Les tannins
se révèlent lentement sont légèrement suaves et assument bien leur rôle
porteur. Finale fruitée et persistante. Jean Faure 2019 aura besoin d’un peu
de temps en cave pour s’épanouir. Il est prometteur. 2024-2039. »CARNET DE NOTES

« Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Rich and concentrated
nose with aroma reminiscent of dark chocolate, ripe blackberries, sloe
and elderberries, vanilla and hints of mild spices. On the palate elegant
character, freshness, ripe tannins, juicy fruit and discreet spiciness, excellent
length with fine-spun flavour in the after taste. »
PETER MOSER 94
« Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.
Feine Brombeernote, zart nach Cassis, einladendes Bukett, frische
Orangenzesten unterlegt. Saftig, elegant, feine Extraktsüße, reife Tannine,
bleibt sehr gut haften, harmonisch und mit sicherem Reifepotenzial
ausgestattet. »
VERT-DE-VIN 94 - 95
« Le nez offre de la puissance, de l’intensité et de la définition. On y
retrouve des notes de mûre sauvage mûre, de poivre gris/de cuben et plus
légèrement de cassis pulpeux associées à des touches de fraise des bois,
de myrtille ainsi qu’à de fines pointes de zan, de tabac blond. La bouche
est fruitée, juteuse, équilibrée et offre une jolie définition, une trame fine
acidulée ainsi qu’une jolie suavité. En bouche ce vin exprime des notes
de cassis charnu/juteux, de mûre charnue et plus légèrement de myrtille
juteuse associées à de petites touches de fraise garriguette, de myrtille
juteuse associées à des pointes de réglisse/zan, de tabac blond et de
muscade. Les tannins sont bien menés, élégants. Une très discrète pointe
