THE LABYRINTH - LE LABYRINTHE
Location: in the beach
OPENING: Thursday Night 7:15 pm - Jeudi 19:15
Facilitator: Marina Randich
Labyrinths have been known to the human race for over 4000 years. The
archetypal design is universal with one, well defined path that leads us to the
centre and back out again. The labyrinth holds the answers and we, as pilgrims
or travelers, need only follow the path to reach the center, perhaps the center of
the self. It is a journey into the direction of ourselves. It is encountering one's self
and emerging alive and creative. The labyrinth (a metaphor, a symbol to explore)
The labyrinth has one path that leads to the center and back to the exit. This
path takes all the space, so there are no other paths or tracks to discover. Only
one path to the center, one to the exit, no crossroads or alternatives, or magic
games. The Catholic metaphor teaches you that if you see God at the center
of the labyrinth, he would seem close to you however reaching him is a long and torturous journey. Indeed, as we learn
from experience, when we have a project, an objective, we need times and patience to reach it. Have a good journey.
The labyrinth: how to use it ? 1) Stop at the entrance, in the little circle before you. 2) Take one step back and imagine
yourself placing your body beside the little circle. Ask it to wait for you patiently. 3) Step back into the little circle and
take three deep breaths. At the end of the third breath, catch a question that is going through your mind at the moment.
A new question, one you have never asked yourself before even if it isn’t original, something like “What will I have for
dinner tonight ?”, etc. 4) Enter the labyrinth and walk to the center, listen to the suggestions the labyrinth is giving you.
5) Once you get to the center, take your time, check if the question is still the same, it may have changed, maybe even
just by a detail (subject, verb, adjectives ... ) 6) With this question, visit the center, asking yourself: Who? What? Why?
Where? How? When? 7) Come back by the same path and listen carefully to the answers given by the labyrinth. 8) At
the exit, stop in the little circle, invite the body you left waiting to join you. 9) Thank the labyrinth and write down what
seemed important to remember.

                                                                                                                              11
ENGLISH CPS PROGRAMS
                   CREATIVITY
                  FOUNDATIONS
Facilitators: Anna Packham, Erik op ten Berg,
     Ingrid de Clercq, Luciano Boccucci
This program is recommended for those who are unfamiliar
with Creative Problem Solving (CPS) or with the deliberate
practice of creativity. The CPS process has undergone
continuous development and research since it was first
developed in the 1950s. This program is based on the most recent developments in the evolution of the CPS model. It will
introduce participants to the CPS Thinking Skills Model and to the dynamic balance of divergent and convergent thinking
that supports it. Participants will have an opportunity to explore and enhance their own creativity. They will gain a deeper
awareness of their own preferred style of expressing creativity using the FourSight self-assessment and learn how to leverage
this knowledge to work more effectively with others. There will be an opportunity for participants to learn and practice
fundamental tools and techniques that can be applied to develop creative solutions to real challenges.
     Participants will be able to:
     • Assess their individual thinking style preferences for working within the creative process.
     • Understand the Creative Problem Solving: Thinking Skills model and how it can be used to overcome creative challenges;-
     • Experience the dynamic balance of divergent and convergent thinking and how to use it to produce creative results;-
Identify personal characteristics, behaviors and attitudes that can promote and inhibit creativity.

                                FOURSIGHT® CERTIFICATION
Facilitators: Sarah Thurber and Blair Miller
Knowledge of Creative Problem Solving is required to participate in this program.
The FourSight Thinking Profile is an assessment that serves as a launch pad for innovation in teams and organizations. It
is a valuable addition to your creative problem solving toolkit, helping you identify individual preferences when it comes
to clarifying, ideating, developing and implementing. During FourSight Certification, you will learn the research behind
the assessment and discover best-practices for debriefing FourSight with individuals, groups and teams. The co-founders
will coach you on how to maximize your impact and navigate the roadblocks to innovation. This certification will improve
your skills as a productive leader and facilitator of innovation. Taking FourSight® Certification is the best way to maximize
the impact of using FourSight in an organizational setting. You will learn the science behind the assessment and have an
opportunity to practice new innovation tools that can be used in the Creative Problem Solving process, which is based on
60 years of creativity research and practice. Participation in this workshop is the first of three conditions that must be met to
     be fully certified as an Advanced FourSight User. The other two elements are: successful completion of a certification exam;
and, the completion of practice sessions after the CREA FourSight workshop (all participants are provided with a number of
free online assessment to use for the purposes of practice.
     Participants will be able to:
     • Learn to leverage people’s preferences to enhance creative collaboration;
     • Evaluate how a team’s profile impacts their approach to challenges;
     • Increase their ability to communicate and problem solve effectively with people who have other preferences;
     • • Enhance their effectiveness in building high performance teams

                                    THE ART OF FACILITATION
Facilitators: Ismet Mamnoon and Branko Broekman
Knowledge of Creative Problem Solving is required to participate in this program.
Skillful facilitation is now being recognized as a core competency for creating dynamic group settings where people are
able to collaborate and make high-quality decisions. By definition, a facilitator is one who contributes structure and process
to interactions so that groups are able to function effectively, explore important issues. and achieve their collective goals.
This generally leads to higher levels of buy-in, active participation and empowerment to take responsibility for action. This
program will focus on understanding and developing best practices for effective facilitation of the creative process, from
appraising client’s objectives, to managing the physical and psychological environment, handling difficult situations and

promoting functional behaviors for the accomplishment of the groups’ goals. Participants will have an opportunity to
practice and receive feedback through a variety of simulations and exercise, using the Creative Problem Solving process and
applying a variety of techniques that will bring their facilitation experience from good to great.
Participants will be able to:
• Assess their strengths and weaknesses related to group facilitation with a specific focus on group management,
    process management and communication skills;
• Demonstrate, through the use of a variety of simulations and exercises, the ability to effectively navigate the CPS
    process in a group facilitation;
• Identify and experience best practices that foster individual’s abilities to facilitate a group, boosting collaboration and
    handling curves;
• Pinpoint specific facilitation skills that are in need of improvement and create a personal plan for the development of
    these identified skill areas.

CPS ON DEMAND: APPLYING CREATIVE THINKING TOOLS IN
A COMPLEX WORLD
Facilitators: Matteo Catullo and Tim Switalski
Knowledge of Creative Problem Solving is required to participate in this program.
CPS has been around for over 70 years. It’s one of the world’s most successful process models with plenty of research and
practice to demonstrate its effectiveness when facing new and complex challenges. One thing that skilled practitioners know
about CPS is that you don’t need to apply the entire process for it to be effective. More often than not, there are moments
during a meeting or in a conversation where a divergent and convergent thinking tool can save the day. This program will
use the CPS Thinking Skills model as a framework for applying creative thinking (in either planned or spontaneous ways)
to everyday situations, both professional and personal. We will explore how to assess complex situations and identify the
kind of thinking that is needed to develop a solution to challenging problem. Using a variety of interactive exercises, we will
examine how to facilitate each of the main phases of CPS in ways that respond to particular needs in a variety of contexts
to bring about novel and valuable outcomes.
Participants will be able to:
• Explore the use of diagnostic thinking to identify opportunities for applying CPS in a wide variety of situations;
• Learn specific tools and techniques from the CPS Thinking Skills framework that can be applied in strategic ways to
clarify complex challenges, generate ideas or implement solutions; and
• Develop the capacity to facilitate solutions to professional and personal challenges in situations that can be anticipated
    or arise unexpectedly.

POLARITY THINKING: THE POWER OF PARADOX IN
CREATIVITY AND COMPLEXITY
Facilitators: Clare Dus and Liz Monroe-Cook
Knowledge of Creative Problem Solving is required to participate in this program.
Complex situations often contain issues that are inherently “unsolvable” and remain unsolvable regardless of our best and
most creative attempts to resolve them. The practice of polarity thinking combined with Creative Problem Solving provides
exciting opportunities for sustainable innovation and being more effective in complex situations. Whether called polarity,
paradox or dilemma, these tensions are universal phenomena in human experience. In this session you’ll learn to distinguish
between either-or problem solving and both-and thinking. You’ll explore how to leverage dynamic tensions such as head
and heart, planning and action, team and individual and – of course –the diverge and converge polarity of CPS. Through
discussion, activities and Polarity Mapping, you’ll identify interdependent factors that are constants and indestructible,
and learn a deliberate process to manage them. You’ll find that polarity thinking in partnership with CPS has a wide range
of applications, e.g., organizational planning, coaching, customer insights, conflict management, team performance and
individual development. You’ll be able to apply your insights to both personal and professional situations as you choose.
Participants will be able to:
• Expand your thinking through awareness of the phenomenon of interdependent pairs – polarities.
• Learn a powerful approach and tool for analysis and action when facing dilemmas.
• Gain insights about how to recognize and use paradox to manage complexity.
• Learn about the rich partnership of Polarity Thinking and CPS.

     • D’évaluer leurs propres préférences en termes d’habiletés de pensée lorsqu’ils travaillent avec le processus créatif;
     • De comprendre le modèle des Habiletés de pensée du processus CPS et comment il peut être utilisé pour relever les défis
          créatifs;
     • D’expérimenter l’équilibre dynamique entre la pensée divergente et la pensée convergente et comprendre comment
          l’utiliser pour produire des résultats créatifs;
     • D’identifier les caractéristiques, attitudes et comportements personnels qui peuvent favoriser ou inhiber la créativité.

      du groupe, la gestion des processus et des compétences de communication;
      efficacement le processus de CPS dans une facilitation de groupe;
      un groupe, à stimuler la collaboration et à gérer les passages délicats;
      plan d’action personnel.

                                                                                                                     15

THE EMOTIONAL COMPLEXITY OF SOLVING PROBLEMS*
JOURNEY 1: TOUCHING THE WISH, CLARIFICATION AND IDEATION
Facilitators: Ana Matic and Sylvain Rouillard
This workshop will explore the various emotions triggered by the creative problem-solving process. In addition to the stages
of the process one goes through an emotional journey. Think about it, before you start to be creative the first part is
accepting there is a problem to be solved, or wish that is arising. Then one must choose the right way to frame and to tackle
this challenge. These are all emotional stages. Acceptance, making choices (which also means eliminating something), taking
risks, uncertainty, etc. Being aware of these emotive responses, and understanding the complexity of the process makes you
a more efficient problem solver. In Journey 1, through art techniques, you will venture into the emotional side of assessing
     the situation, clarification and ideation.
     Learning Objectives:
     • Discover the various emotions that could be triggered by assessing the situation, the clarification and ideation phases of
          the creative problem-solving process;
     • Pinpoint emotions that could enhance the flow of theses specific phases; and
     • Discover and create tools in order for individuals or groups to open up to specific and fruitful emotional states.
*Two distinct and complementary immersion programs. You can take them both or choose only one

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CHRYSALIS OF THE BUTTERFLY?
SKETCHING RADICAL CHANGE IN A COMPLEX ENVIRONMENT
Facilitators: Edouard Le Maréchal and Newell Eaton
Disruption raises a mix of enthusiasm and fear. As innovators and entrepreneurs, our first reflex to lower our discomfort is to
stick to a rigorous process which will help us fight doubt in the first place. Every stage is to be properly achieved one after
another. Perfection becomes evidence that we are on the right track. Slowly, our courage to change the game is stifled by
our step by step progression. And then we fail. This immersion is about sketching the big picture of our innovation with no
prior model, and thus make it unexpected, consistent, relevant and valuable at the same time. To do so, you will learn how
to imagine the ramp-up of an innovation project you have not defined yet, how to build your communication without even
knowing what it is about, or even imagine a business model with no figures.
The Butterfly Process is based on strategic foresight, systems thinking and chaos theory. It addresses those who struggle in
their business or private life to accomplish a major change they think necessary, not to improve an existing situation, but to
     define a radically new one.
     Learning Objectives:
     • Be able to sketch radical innovation or change through a set of tools;
     • Embed complexity as a way of thinking about innovation; and
     • Understand how differentiating goals from purposes makes it easier to succeed.

                                                           THE GAME
Facilitators: Dorte Nielsen and Rémi Sabouraud
Welcome to our Radical Next Step Thinking game. Imagine you are on the board of a company. You are in charge of the
vision and the strategy. You are going to play the game of “Radical Next Step Thinking”. A game designed to help you
imagine a vision for the future.
The game is set in a time of change. You will meet the unforeseen, the unexpected, crazy challenges, pressure from the
market, obstacles, new shapes of A.I, disruption, natural catastrophes and climate change. We will explore various tools,
techniques and radical interference to enhance visionary, strategic and ideational thinking. It’s a pallet of brain starters, which
will help you think ahead in a complex world. Step by step, we want you to practice thinking on your feet.
We will challenge you to be flexible and radical in your thinking as you face the challenges of tomorrow. At the end of the
workshop we will step out of the game to look at how this method can be applied to every company or major brand as a
     tool for future innovation.
     Learning Objectives:
     • Play the game of “Radical Next Step Thinking”;
     • Challenge thinking habits and status quo; and
     • Gain tools for future innovation to bring back to your own company.

THE EMOTIONAL COMPLEXITY OF SOLVING PROBLEMS*
JOURNEY 2: TRANSFORMATION OF IDEAS INTO SOLUTIONS AND
                           THE JUICY FRUITS FOR IMPLEMENTATION
Facilitators: Clara Kluk and Yoel Kluk
Creative problem solving is a complex process. In addition to the stages of the process one goes through an emotional
journey. In Journey 2 we start from ideation. Think about it, when ideating you must be divergent and convergent, it is a
huge leap for your emotions. Generate a ton of ideas and don’t judge them, and then put all of yourself into selecting,
evaluating and judging.
The emotional spectrum to go from one idea to many to developing a solution for others requires you to be able to let go
of your judgment and your safe territory. You must feel you have chosen the most compelling and adequate solution even
before it is actually implemented. In Journey 2, through art techniques, you will venture into the emotional side of ideating,
developing solutions and making an action plan.
Learning Objectives:
• Discover various emotions that could be triggered by the last phases of the creative problem-solving process;
• Pinpoint emotional states that could enhance the flow of theses specific phases; and
• Enrich your toolbox: Discover and create tools in order for individuals or groups to open up to specific and fruitful
emotional states when engaging in these specific phases.

                                    CELEBRATING COMPLEXITY
Facilitators: Dan Bigonesse and Katie Tagye
One of the big affective skills underlying the creative process is “tolerance for complexity”. What does that mean? Why is it
important in creative problem solving? And how might holding multiple ideas at once open you up to more creative thinking?
In this session, we’ll investigate complexity and why it’s an essential consideration when working on big, audacious, “wicked”
challenges. We’ll discuss the nuances between complex and complicated issues. And we’ll investigate how to become better
at having, leveraging and embracing cognitive complexity.
Join us as we investigate some tools, approaches, and techniques that will help you manage complexity to your advantage.
Learning Objectives:
• Examine how complexity connects with creative problem solving;
• Discuss the nature of wicked problems and how adopting a complexity mindset can help you work on them more
     effectively; and
• Experience fun exercises and explore approaches that challenge your current thinking and enhance your creative brilliance.

                                                                                                                             17

                                                     JEUDI 11 Avril

                                                                                                                                19

AGILITY, CREATIVITY AND COMPLEXITY : AGILE MINDSET AND SCRUM FRAMEWORK IN A
CREATIVE SAUCE (Language: English)
Facilitators: Vesna Vukovic-Dzodan & Paolo Sbuttoni
Complex products and projects can be effectively managed... Let’s start by sharing a story of agile manifesto and the influence
it had on the way the software teams work. How did this word find its way to CREA, and what does it mean? Is it a framework,
a process, methodology, philosophy, state, how do you know you have it? How much would you pay for it ? How long do you
think it takes to become agile? Then let’s get practical. Scrum can be explained and grasped: it is a very well-defined framework
for delivering complex products.
Scrum is: Lightweight, simple to understand, difficult to master. Experiencing Scrum will provide more insights about the Agile
mindset. We will run exercises introducing the concepts and rules from Scrum Guide and Time Boxing.
In Scrum or any other framework that help evolve agility, creativity and CPS can be the beating heart.
Learning Objectives: • Help understand what agile means; • Experience scrum framework in action and discover the Scrum
Ceremonies, the Sprint Planning or Stand Up Meeting; • Make the liaison between scrum framework and creativity

COGNITIVE BIAS IN CREATIVE THINKING : HOW THESE MENTAL TRAPS MAKE CREATIVITY
EVEN MORE COMPLEX? (Language: English)
Facilitator: Susan Robertson
Cognitive biases are a set of mental shortcuts that all humans share. Most of us probably wouldn’t like to admit we have
these limiting mental biases, but a wealth of research in neuroscience shows that we all do. Many cognitive biases have been
identified, and a few of them are particularly problematic in creative thinking.Because these biases operate subconsciously,
we’re not aware how, and how severely, they’re limiting our thinking. This further complicates the challenge of thinking
creatively day in and day out, because our brains are hardwired to use these mental shortcuts whenever we can. So we all
regularly fall into these traps without realizing it. (Yes, that means you. If you’re human, you fall into these traps.) In this hands-
on, interactive workshop, we’ll examine a few of the most critical cognitive biases that get in the way of creative thinking. We’ll
experience these biases in action through experiential activities, and we’ll have group discussion about the implications and
potential solutions.
Learning Objectives: • Understand what cognitive biases are and how they operate; • Identify where in the CPS process each
of them poses the biggest problem; • Discuss tools and techniques for combating them.

UBUNTU, THE AFRICAN ART OF WELCOMING OTHERS, CREATIVE HUMANITY IN A COMPLEX
WORLD (Language: English)
Facilitator: Jeannette Medema
Why is being a good host in life of importance in relation to our complex world? Being aware of hostmanship on a deeper
level gives us a strong foundation to connect on human being level. Our environments are asking for real attention, deeper
compassion towards each other and ourselves. Ubuntu is the Art of making people feel welcome. To help others in need is a
human instinct, but how can we support the world in more complex situations? The instinct is getting into action when we
really have to survive, but most of us have food, a shelter and other basic needs. In which way can we trigger ourselves to go
beyond our spontaneous instincts and build a continuous level of support? Becoming an inviting host in humanity in less easy
situations can bring remarkable changes. We will experience the complexity of embedding this in ourselves. Our creativity is the
vehicle to get there!
Learning Objectives: • Gaining insights in the deeper meaning of a host (compassion); • Learning about the South African
Philosophy • Learn tools and techniques to implement hospitality into daily life. 21

SIX THINKING HATS : TOOL TO SIMPLIFY THINKS FOR BETTER DECISION MAKING
     (Language: English)
Facilitators: Harry Van des Schans & Sabine Schouten
According to Edward de Bono complexity is always failed simplicity. Imagine what might happen if you, your team, department,
or entire organization learned specific thinking tools that would help you to simplify things and open the door to thorough
decisions, better communication, and easier problem resolution.
With the Six Thinking Hats you learn to experience parallel thinking as an alternative to argument. Parallel thinking guides
thought processes in one direction at a time so we can effectively analyze issues, generate new ideas, and make decisions. It
is an effective method that helps you to put your opinions aside so that you can focus on a way forward, without argument.
You will learn how to separate feelings from facts, the positive from the negative and control thinking from creative thinking. In
this fast-paced, practical, and interactive program you learn to suspend your judgment and to embrace complexity by exploring
different perspectives towards a complex situation or challenge. The Six Hats’ approach simplifies thinking by creating focus,
     and enhancing collaboration and teamwork.
Learning Objectives: • Assist teams and individuals to escape conflict thinking; • Embrace complexity with the six distinctive
thinking modes; • Generate parallel, focused ideas and approaches to a challenge.

DESSINEZ VOTRE FUTUR PROFESSIONNEL (Langue: Français support in English)
     Facilitateur : Philippe Brasseur

DE L’ÉPI DE BLÉ À LA MICHE DE PAIN (Langue: Français support in English)
