d’utiliser de manière optimale votre airbag

Le gilet airbag électronique e-GP Air a été créé pour protéger les motards
dans leur pratique de la moto. Le gilet n’est pas adapté pour les pratiques
suivantes : motocross, super-motard, trial, supercross, freestyle,
pit bike, figures acrobatiques (cabrages, wheeling, embardées…) ou
d’autres sports.

1. Présentation du produit

L’airbag e-GP Air comprend un gilet, une e-cartouche et un câble USB.
a. Le gilet : il contient l’airbag, une protection dorsale et le capteur CDU (Crash
Detection Unit) intégré dans une protection pectorale qui analyse la situation en temps
réel (position dans l’espace du motard, vitesse ..) et détecte les accidents.
b. La e-cartouche : elle gonfle l’airbag intégré dans le gilet en cas de chute ou
d’accident. Elle est à usage unique et doit être remplacée après chaque gonflage (voir
page 10).
c. Le câble USB : il permet de recharger la batterie du gilet (voir page 8).
Attention : seul le câble USB est fourni, il faudra ensuite le brancher à un port USB
standard.
2. Informations générales
y Les airbags Helite se portent de la même manière qu’une veste moto classique.
y Les airbags Helite offrent une protection complète à l’état gonflé uniquement. Ils
permettent d’absorber efficacement les chocs et stabilisent le corps de la tête au
coccyx.
y Cet EPI (Equipement de Protection Individuelle) ne contient aucune substance
allergène. Sa conception ne provoque aucune irritation ni aucune gêne pour
l’utilisateur.
y La e-cartouche n’est pas réutilisable. Une fois vide ou endommagée, elle devra être
recyclée ou jetée conformément à la législation en vigueur du pays concerné.
y Il est possible que les coussins d’air se détériorent ou se percent lors d’une chute
s’ils heurtent un objet tranchant ou pointu.
y En cas d’accident, il est possible de dévisser la e-cartouche pour permettre à l’airbag
de se dégonfler plus rapidement.
3. Consignes de sécurité
ATTENTION, le non-respect des consignes de sécurité peut entraîner le non
fonctionnement de votre airbag ou une réduction de son efficacité.
y Veillez à bien choisir la taille de votre airbag Helite en fonction de votre morphologie
et du tableau de taille de votre modèle (voir fiche produit fournie avec votre notice).
y Pour une protection supplémentaire à moto, l’utilisateur doit porter une combinaison
avec bosse aérodynamique, des gants et tout autre équipement obligatoires à la
pratique de la piste.Manuel d’utilisation 5 y Lorsqu’un accident ou une chute est détecté, l’airbag se gonfle automatiquement en une fraction de seconde. Néanmoins, l’utilisateur doit s’assurer d’allumer la carte électronique avant de prendre la moto, de s’assurer que celle-ci est correctement chargée et que la e-cartouche est correctement branchée. y Un airbag ne peut pas garantir la sécurité totale du motard, elle lui offre une protection supplémentaire. Il ne protège pas de toutes les blessures et les parties du corps qui ne sont pas couvertes par l’airbag. y L’airbag est une protection supplémentaire qui ne permet pas de se passer de l’équipement habituel (combinaison, gants, …) y Ne supprimez et ne modifiez aucun élément du système airbag, électronique et textile. y Après déclenchement de l’airbag, ne remplacez la e-cartouche qu’avec une e-cartouche Helite de la même capacité (GG 60). y Avant d’utiliser votre airbag Helite, évitez de laisser des objets dans les poches de vos vêtements notamment s’ils sont pointus. y Avant chaque utilisation, vérifiez que votre airbag (gilet, doublure) soit en bon état, c’est-à-dire sans déchirure, usure ou arrachement. y Ne pas coudre ou coller quoi que ce soit sur l’airbag ou le cuir Helite car cela pourrait endommager l’airbag et l’empêcher de fonctionner correctement. y Tenir hors de portée des enfants. y La conductrice ne doit pas être enceinte. Il n’est pas possible d’effectuer des tests permettant de déterminer les conséquences en cas de gonflage. y L’ensemble du gilet (textile, électronique, airbag, capteur) ne doit pas être mis au micro-onde. y Ranger soigneusement le gilet. Quand vous ne portez pas l’airbag, gardez-le à l’abri des hautes températures (60°C) et de l’humidité (pour éviter la moisissure par exemple). y Le e-GP Air doit s’utiliser exclusivement dans une plage de températures comprises entre -10 et + 45 °C. L’exposition prolongée du système à des températures inférieures à - 10 °C et supérieures à 45 °C peut nuire au bon fonctionnement du système. y Ne pas recharger la batterie du gilet à côté de fortes sources de chaleur (60°). y Ne jamais laver en machine le gilet. y Ne pas porter d’équipements trop serrés par-dessus le gilet (voir page 8). 4. Caractéristiques techniques Le gilet e-GP Air est muni d’un système électronique intégrant un algorithme capable d’analyser les mouvements de l’utilisateur. En cas de mouvements anormaux, caractéristiques d’une chute ou d’un accident, le système déclenche automatiquement le gonflage de l’airbag. En cas d’accident, l’airbag se gonfle en 60ms.

A. CHOCS ET ACCIDENTS DÉTECTÉS
Il est nécessaire que la moto circule à une allure supérieure à 20km/h pour qu’une
chute soit détectée. Dans cette configuration, voici la liste des accidents détectés :
- Moto percutant ou se faisant percuter par un obstacle conséquent (véhicule, mur,
poteau...) de face, de côté ou par l’arrière.
- Perte de contrôle de la moto (sans choc sur la moto) : glissade sur le côté, chute de
la moto ou high side.
Attention : Le capteur du gilet est sensible aux mouvements brusques du corps :
n’exécutez pas volontairement des manœuvres qui ne sont pas nécessaires à la
conduite normale de votre moto.
B. AUTONOMIE
Le gilet possède une autonomie d’environ 25h allumé. Il passe en mode veille
automatiquement quand aucun mouvement n’est détecté pendant environ 45
secondes. Le gilet se recharge grâce au câble USB fourni, couplé à une source de
tension T.B.T.S 5V. Il est conseillé de le recharger toutes les semaines (voir page 8 pour
recharger le gilet).
C. LA E-CARTOUCHE
L’airbag est vendu avec une e-cartouche déjà installée dans le gilet et prête à l’emploi.
La e-cartouche est à usage unique et doit être remplacée après chaque gonflage. Il est
conseillé de prévoir un petit stock de e-cartouche de rechange. Les e-cartouches de
remplacement peuvent être commandées en ligne sur notre site shop.helite.com ou
chez nos revendeurs.
ATTENTION
y Les e-cartouches sont à usage unique et doivent être remplacées après chaque
gonflage.
y Les e-cartouches à utiliser sont uniquement des e-cartouches Helite GG60.
y Ne jamais brancher la e-cartouche avant qu’elle ne soit complètement vissée
dans le cylindre noir. (voir page 10)
y Conserver et utiliser à température inférieure à 60°C : ne pas laisser de
e-cartouches pleines dans une voiture par températures trop élevées.
y Ne pas laisser tomber la e-cartouche.
y Si des taches de corrosion apparaissent sur la surface des e-cartouches,
changez- les immédiatement. Ne pas couper ou perforer la e-cartouche.
y Ne pas jeter la e-cartouche au feu.
y Il est important de peser la cartouche tous les ans (voir page 11).
y Veillez à ne pas endommager le fil lors du vissage (en le pliant par exemple).Manuel d’utilisation 7
D. TAILLES
N’oubliez pas, l’airbag e-GP Air se porte par-dessus votre équipement de protection
moto. Le tableau de taille ci-contre vous permet de choisir la taille de gilet adaptée à
votre morphologie. Mettez votre équipement pour prendre vos mesures.

5. Utilisation du gilet
Le gilet est autonome. Une fois allumé, le système électronique se met en marche
automatiquement dès qu’il détecte un mouvement et se met en veille automatiquement
lors d’une inactivité de plus de 45 secondes.
A. ÉTEINDRE & ALLUMER LE GILET

Le gilet peut être éteint ou allumé en appuyant rapidement 3 fois sur le bouton ON/
OFF. Il n’est pas nécessaire d’éteindre son gilet au quotidien.
Quand éteindre le gilet airbag ?
lI y a des situations où il est impératif d’éteindre le gilet :
- Lorsque vous transportez le gilet non porté à une allure de plus de 20km/h (en voiture
…)
- Lorsque vous prenez un autre moyen de transport avec votre gilet (voiture, métro, tram,
train, bus, avion …)
- Lors d’un long stockage sans activité (en hiver par exemple).

B. PORTER LE GILET
y Le gilet se porte au-dessus de votre équipement de moto.
y Le gilet est résistant à l’eau. Vous pouvez rouler avec le gilet sous la pluie ou la neige
sans protection supplémentaire au-dessus .
ATTENTION
y Les personnes utilisant un stimulateur cardiaque ou d’autres appareils
électromédicaux ne doivent pas utiliser le système. Le risque d’interférence avec
ces appareils n’a pas été testé.
y Les personnes souffrant de pathologies, de quelque nature que ce soit, au
niveau du dos et du cou, ou qui ont subi des interventions récentes à l’abdomen
ou au thorax, ne doivent pas utiliser le système.
C. RECHARGER LE GILET
Le gilet possède une autonomie de 25H en marche soit environ une semaine
d’utilisation.
LED verte : Bon fonctionnement LED orange : Batterie faible
Vous pouvez utiliser le gilet. Vous devez recharger le gilet.

Comment recharger le gilet ?
a) Ouvrir le gilet en détachant les velcros
b) Brancher le chargeur à l’embout correspondant grâce au pictogramme batterie
(derrière la protection pectorale)
c) Temps de charge : environ 3 heures
Vous devez utiliser le câble USB Helite fourni avec votre gilet. Seul le câble est
fourni, il faudra ensuite le brancher sur un chargeur USB standard (5 Volt port USB
d’ordinateur ou chargeur de téléphone portable).
Pendant le chargement la LED restera orange jusqu’à ce que le gilet ait fini de charger.
Le temps de charge est de 3 heures environ avec le câble USB Helite fourni dans le
gilet. Dès que la LED redevient verte vous pouvez réutiliser votre gilet.
ATTENTION
Ne jamais recharger le gilet pendant qu’il est porté. Ne pas recharger le gilet près de
surfaces ou objets inflammables.Manuel d’utilisation 9
D. ÉTAT DU GILET
Pour savoir si le système fonctionne correctement, voici les 4 couleurs de LED qui
peuvent s’afficher :

E. VOYAGER AVEC LE GILET
-> Bus, Train, Voiture
Pas de restrictions particulières.
Il faut juste penser à éteindre votre gilet quand
vous prenez un autre moyen de transport.
-> Avion
Vous pouvez rencontrer quelques difficultés avec les services
de sécurité concernant les e-cartouches servant à gonfler votre
gilet. D’un point de vue réglementaire (règlement Iata), vous êtes
autorisé à voyager en avion avec 2 e-cartouches (avec volume !
inférieur à 200cc), en cabine ou en soute.
Cependant, même si la régulation l’autorise, il est possible que le service de sécurité
ou la compagnie aérienne vous refuse d’embarquer avec. Nous vous conseillons
d’imprimer la régulation Iata (disponible sur helite.com «FAQ») et de la montrer lors
du contrôle si l’on vous demande plus d’explications. Dans tous les cas, c’est le service
de sécurité de l’aéroport et la compagnie aérienne qui prendront la décision finale
d’accepter ou non votre équipement à bord.
Pour l’avion, pensez à toujours éteindre votre gilet et à débrancher la e-cartouche.10 Manuel d’utilisation
F. PRÉCAUTIONS AVANT UTILISATION
Si l’un de ces éléments n’est pas validé, il se peut que vous ne soyez pas
protégé correctement :
le gilet est ajusté correctement à votre taille
la e-cartouche doit être neuve et branchée.
le velcro du e-GP Air est correctement fermé
le gilet est suffisamment chargé (LED verte allumée)
la LED verte est allumée et clignote
6. Réutiliser le gilet après un gonflage
En cas d’accident, il est possible de dévisser la e-cartouche pour permettre à
l’airbag de se dégonfler plus rapidement. Après un gonflage, vous pouvez réutiliser
le gilet. Voici les étapes à effectuer avant de le réutiliser de façon optimale.

1. Retirer le gilet.
2. Ouvrir les velcros sur le devant.
3. Retirer la e-cartouche vide.
y a) Débrancher la e-cartouche.

6. Refermer les velcros.

e-cartouche.Manuel d’utilisation 11 PRÉCAUTION D'UTILISATION APRÈS UN GONFLAGE ATTENTION L’airbag se dégonfle progressivement automatiquement. Un dommage externe au gilet peut être détecté par un dégonflage très rapide (inférieur à 5 sec). Si vous observez un impact au niveau de l’airbag, veuillez nous contacter ou emmenez-le auprès d’un vendeur agréé pour une révision. En cas d’importants dommages externes ou internes, il se peut que la réparation soit impossible. Vous devez vérifier avant de réutiliser votre gilet que : la e-cartouche a été remplacée par une e-cartouche Helite neuve de la même capacité l’airbag a été dégonflé la nouvelle e-cartouche a été branchée Autres précautions avant chaque utilisation le gilet est ajusté correctement le gilet est fermé correctement le gilet est suffisamment chargé (LED verte allumée) la LED verte est allumée et clignote 7. Entretien A. LAVAGE L’électronique ne doit pas être en contact avec l’eau. Ceci pourrait endommager le système électronique présent à l’intérieur. Si vous souhaitez laver votre gilet, nous vous conseillons d’utiliser une éponge ou une brosse humide avec de l’eau tiède savonneuse. Pour le cuir nous vous conseillons d’utiliser des produits adaptés à cette matière. B. E-CARTOUCHE Les e-cartouches sont garanties 10 ans. Nous vous conseillons cependant de vérifier le poids de la e-cartouche chaque année. La vérification consiste à peser la e-cartouche et s’assurer que le poids de la e-cartouche ne diffère pas de plus de 3g par rapport au poids brut indiqué sur la e-cartouche. Une e-cartouche de 60GG pèse 212g - Son poids doit être compris entre 209g et 215g.

C. STOCKAGE
Pour une meilleure longévité du gilet veuillez respecter les règles suivantes :
- Ne pas conserver sous des températures extrêmes (véhicule fermé au soleil, près
d’une source de chaleur ou d’une flamme...).
- Ne pas recouvrir de quelque chose de lourd.
- Ne pas plier ou rouler. Il est préférable de ranger le gilet sur un cintre.
- Ne pas laisser à la portée des enfants.
- Ne pas laisser à la portée de rongeurs ou d’autres animaux.
D. RECYCLAGE
Nous recyclons les e-cartouches vides de C02.
Mettez-les de côté et envoyez-les nous à l'adresse
suivante :

9. Garantie & SAV
1. GARANTIE
Le gilet est garanti 2 ans renouvelable 2 ans si vous enregistrez dans les 3 mois qui
suivent votre achat votre airbag en ligne : my.helite.com.
2. REMPLACEMENT
Si vous rencontrez l’un des problèmes décrits ci-après, consultez un vendeur ou
contactez-nous pour une réparation ou un remplacement du produit.
Problèmes :
- Le gilet ou les matériaux internes (tissus) sont déchirés.
- Une cassure, une fissure ou de la corrosion apparaît sur le mécanisme d’activation
ou sur la e-cartouche.
- Le système ne se met plus en marche alors que le gilet est chargé et activé.
- Détérioration ou décoloration significative des matériaux.

10. Avis de non-responsabilité
- Ce produit est « Certifé CE (conformité au Règlement UE 2016/425) par ALIENOR

- Pour certains accidents, veuillez noter qu’aucune protection corporelle ne peut
empêcher la mort ou des lésions graves.
- Helite et ses distributeurs ne seront en aucun cas responsables de lésions corporelles
ou de décès, et/ou de dégâts matériels pouvant survenir lors de l’utilisation du gilet,
Helite et ses distributeurs déclinent toutes responsabilités pour une installation ou un
usage incorrect du gilet,
- Helite et ses distributeurs ne peuvent pas être tenus responsables si le gilet ne se
gonfle pas.
- Dans certains cas, la vitesse minimum pour détecter une chute est de 20km/h.
- Le gilet ne couvre pas 100% des risques lors d’un accident.
- Le gilet ne garantit pas la détection de 100% des accidents.
- Le gilet ne protège pas de toutes les blessures de la zone haute du corps.
- Le gilet ne protège pas les parties non dotées d’airbag (coccyx …).
- Toutes modifications ou mauvaise utilisation et stockage de l’airbag peut provoquer
un dysfonctionnement.

The e-GP Air electronic airbag vest was created to protect motorcyclists when
riding. The vest is not suitable for the following practices: motocross,
trial, supercross, freestyle, pit bike, acrobatic tricks (rearing, wheeling,
swerving...) or other sports.

The e-GP Air airbag system contains a vest, an e-cartouche and a USB cable.
a. vest: contains the airbag, a back protector level 2 and a CDU sensor (Crash detection
unit). The CDU sensor analyzes the motion in context (position in space of the rider,
speed, etc.) and detects accidents.
b. e-cartridge: inflates the airbag in the event of a fall or an accident. It is for single
use only and must be replaced after each inflation (see page 21).
c. USB cable: to recharge the vest battery (see page 19).
Caution: only the USB cable is included, you can plug it into any standard USB charger.
2. General information
y Helite airbags are worn like a normal vest when riding.
y Helite airbags offer a high level of protection when activated. The airbag effectively
absorbs shocks and stabilizes the body from the head to the bottom of the back,
thus reducing the risk of over bending the spinal column.
y This PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) contains no known allergenic substances.
The design will not cause any irritation or discomfort to the wearer.
y The e-cartridge is not re-usable. A used or damaged cartridge will have to be
recycled or disposed in accordance with your country’s legislation.
y The airbag sheaths may get damaged or pierced during a fall if they hit a sharp
object.
y In the event of a fall, it is possible to unscrew the e-cartridge to deflate the airbag
faster.
3. Safety precautions
CAUTION, failure to follow safety instructions may lead to airbag malfunctioning or
reduce its effectiveness.
y Be sure to choose the right size of your airbag according to your body shape and
the size chart of your Helite model (see product sheet provided with user guide).
y For additional protection, the user must wear a leather suit with hump, gloves and
any other equipment that is mandatory when riding on the track.16 User Guide y When an accident or a fall is detected, the airbag inflates automatically in a fraction of a second. Nevertheless, the user must ensure that the airbag system is switched on, before riding the motorcycle, that the system is correctly charged and that the e-cartridge is properly installed. y An airbag cannot guarantee the complete safety of the rider, but it will offer considerable extra protection. It does not protect from injuries the parts of the body that are not covered by the airbag. y The airbag is an additional protection, you still have to wear the usual equipment (suit, gloves, etc.). y Do not remove or modify any part of the airbag, the electronic system or the fabric. y After an airbag activation, only replace the e-cartridge with a Helite e-cartridge of the same capacity (GG 60). y Take out any objects and in particularly sharp objects from your pockets before using your Helite airbag system. y Check that your airbag is in good working condition, i.e. no rips or tears, before each use. y Do not sew or stick anything onto the Helite airbag (neither the airbag itself nor its fabric) as it could pierce the airbag and prevent it from working properly. y Keep out of reach of children. y The driver must not be pregnant. It is not possible to carry out tests to determine the consequences if the airbag is activated. y The whole vest (textile, electronics, airbag, sensor) must not be put in the microwave. y The vest should be stored carefully when not used. Keep it away from high temperatures (60°C) and humidity (e.g. to avoid mould). y The e-GP Air should only be used in a temperature range of -10 to + 45°C. Prolonged exposure of the system to temperatures below -10°C and above 45°C may impair the proper functioning of the system. y Do not recharge the vest battery near strong heat sources (60°C). y Never wash the vest in a washing machine. y Do not wear clothes too tight over the vest (see page 19). 4. Technical description The e-GP Air vest is provided with an electronic system incorporating an algorithm capable of analyzing the user’s movements. When abnormal movements, a fall or an accident are detected, the system automatically triggers the airbag to inflate. In the event of an accident, the airbag inflates in 60 ms.

A. IMPACTS AND DETECTED ACCIDENTS
The system only detects accidents from a speed above 20km/h. Here are the possible
detection cases:
- Motorcycle striking or being struck by a significant obstacle (vehicle, wall, post, etc.)
from the front, side or rear.
- Loss of control of the motorcycle (without impact on the motorcycle): Slipping on the
side, falling off the motorcycle or high side.
Caution: The vest sensor is sensitive to sudden body movements: Do not intentionally
execute movements that are not necessary for normal motorcycle riding.
B. AUTONOMY
The vest has 25h of autonomy when switched on. It automatically switches to sleep
mode when no movement is detected for about 45 seconds. To recharge the vest
you need to use the supplied USB cable coupled to a 5V T.B.T.S. voltage source. It is
recommended to recharge the vest every week (see page 19 to recharge the vest).
C. THE E-CARTRIDGE
The airbag is sold with a new and usable e-cartridge ready to work. The e-cartridge is
for single use only and must be replaced after each inflation. We recommend to store
1 or 2 e-cartridges and keep them available in the event of an accident. It is possible
to order e-cartridges online on our website www.helite.com or at one of our dealers.
CAUTION
y The e-cartridges are for single use only and must be replaced after each inflation.
y The e-cartridges to be used are only Helite e-cartridges GG60.
y Never connect the e-cartridge before it is completely screwed into the black
cylinder (see page 21).
y The e-cartridge should be stored and used in temperatures below 60°C. Do not
leave full e-cartridges in the car in high temperatures for example.
y Never let the e-cartridge fall down.
y If rust or other corrosive marks appear on the outer surface of the e-cartridge,
change it immediately and discard the e-cartridge. Never cut or perforate the
e-cartridge.
y Do not throw the e-cartridge into fire.
y It is important to weigh the e-cartridge once a year (see page 22).
y Take care not to damage the cable when screwing it in (e.g. by bending it).18 User Guide
D. SIZES
Please keep in mind that the e-GP Air is worn over your motorcycle protective gear. The
size chart below allows you to choose the right size vest for your body type. We advise
you to wear your equipment while measuring.

5. Using the vest
The vest is autonomous. Once switched on, the electronic system is automatically
activated as soon as it detects movements and automatically switches to sleep mode
when there is no activity for more than 45 seconds.
A. SWITCH ON & OFF THE VEST

The vest can be switched ON / OFF by pressing quickly 3 times the button. It is not
necessary to switch off the vest everyday.
When should the vest be switched off?
There are some situations in which it is imperative to switch off the vest:
- When transporting the vest unworn at a speed of more than 20 km/h (e.g. by car)
- When using different means of transport with your vest (car, metro, tram, train, bus,
airplane, etc.)
- During a long storage time (in winter for example).

B. WEARING THE VEST
y The vest is worn over the motorcycle garment.
y The vest is water resistant. You can ride with the vest in the rain or snow without the
need for additional protection over it.
CAUTION
y People using a pacemaker or other electromedical devices should not use the
system. The risk of interference with these devices has not been tested.
y People suffering from any kind of back and neck pathology, or who have had
recent abdominal or thoracic surgery, should not use the system.
C. RECHARGING THE VEST
The vest has an autonomy of 25H when it is switched ON which is about one week of
use.

How to recharge the vest
a) Open the vest by loosening the velcros.
b) Connect the charger to the corresponding connector using the battery symbol
(behind the chest protector).
c) Charging time: approximately 3 hours
You must use the Helite USB cable included with your vest. Only the cable is
included, you have to plug it afterwards into a standard USB charger (5 Volt USB
port on your computer or mobile phone charger).
During the charging, the LED will remain orange. The charging time is around 3 hours
with the Helite USB cable included with the vest. As soon as the LED turns green
the charging is completed and you can reuse the vest.
CAUTION
Never recharge the vest when it is worn. Do not charge the vest near flammable
surfaces or objects.20 User Guide
D. VEST LED DESCRIPTION
To know if the system is working properly, here are the 4 LED colors used and their
different significations:

You may encounter some difficulties with the security service
regarding the e-cartridges used to inflate your vest.
From a legal point of view (IATA regulations), you are authorized
to travel by airplane with 2 e-cartridges (with a volume of less !
than 200cc), in the cabin or in the hold.
However, even if it is legally allowed, it is possible that the security service or the airline
will refuse you to board the aircraft with the e-cartridge. We advise you to print the IATA
regulation (available on helite.com «FAQ») and to show it during the control if you are
asked for further explanation. In any case, the security department of the airport and
the airline will make the final decision whether to take your equipment on board or not.
On the plane, you always have to turn off your garment and unplug the e-cartridge.User Guide 21
F. PRECAUTIONS BEFORE USING THE AIRBAG SYSTEM
If one of these conditions is not validated, you may not be protected
properly.
The vest is adjusted correctly to your size.
The e-cartridge must be new and properly connected to the system.
The velcro of the e-GP Air is correctly closed.
The vest is sufficiently charged (green LED on).
The green LED is on and flashes.
6. Reactivating the airbag system
After activation, you can reuse the vest. Here are the steps to follow before reusing it
optimally.

PRECAUTIONS AFTER AIRBAG INFLATION
CAUTION After inflation, the airbag automatically deflates slowly. External damage
to the vest can be detected by very rapid deflation (less than 5 sec). If you observe
an impact to the airbag, please contact us or take it to an authorised dealer for
servicing. In the event of extensive external or internal damage, repair may not be
possible.
Before reusing the airbag you must check the following points:
The used e-cartridge is replaced by a new Helite e-cartridge of the same
capacity.
The airbag is deflated.
The new e-cartridge is properly connected with the vest.
Other precautions before each use
The vest is properly adjusted.
The vest is correctly closed.
The vest is sufficiently charged (green LED on).
The green LED is on and flashes.
7. Maintenance
A. WASHING
The electronic components must not be in contact with
water. This could damage the electronic system inside. If you wish
to wash your vest, we advise you to use a sponge or a brush soaked
in warm soapy water.
For leather, we recommend using products suitable for this material.
B. E-CARTRIDGE
The e-cartridge comes with a 10 year warranty. The e-cartridges have a long life
span but we recommend to check them annually. The check consists in weighing
your e-cartridge on a scale and making sure that the weight is approximately (+/- 3g)
equivalent to the weight written on your e-cartridge.
An e-cartridge of 60GG weighs 212g - Its weight should be between 209g and 215g.User Guide 23
C. STORAGE
Follow the guidelines below to enjoy a long and reliable use of your airbag system:
- Avoid high temperatures (direct sunlight, if left in a vehicle, near a heat source or
flame).
- Do not cover with anything heavy.
- Do not fold or roll. It is best to store the vest on a hanger.
- Keep out of children’s reach.
- Do not leave within reach of rodents or other animals.

- The airbag garment or the interior materials (fabric, sheaths) are torn or worn out.

1. Vorstellung des Produkts
Siehe Schema 1 der schematischen Anleitung
Die e-GP Air enthält: eine Weste, eine e-Kartusche und ein USB-Kabel.
a. Weste: enthält den Airbag, einen Rückenprotektor Level 2 und einen CDU-Sensor
(Crash detection unit). Der CDU-Sensor analysiert die Situation in Echtzeit (Bewegung
des Fahrers, Position und Geschwindigkeit und erkennt Stürze.
b. E-Kartusche: bläst den Airbag im Falle eines Sturzes auf. Sie darf nur einmal
verwendet und muss nach jeder Auslösung ausgetauscht werden (siehe S. 32).
c. USB-Kabel: um den Akku in der Weste aufzuladen (siehe S. 30).
Achtung: Nur das USB-Kabel ist enthalten, Sie können es an einem beliebigen
Standard USB-Ladegerät anschließen.
2. Allgemeine Informationen
y Das Helite Airbag-System wird wie eine normale Motorradweste getragen.
y Die Helite Airbag-Systeme bieten einen kompletten Schutz. Sie absorbieren effektiv
Stöße und stabilisieren den Körper vom Kopf bis zum Steißbein und reduzieren so
das Risiko einer Überbiegung der Wirbelsäule.
y Diese PSA (Persönliche Schutzausrüstung) enthält keine bekannten
allergieauslösenden Materialien. Das Design verursacht dem Nutzer keine
Hautirritationen oder sonstige Unannehmlichkeiten.
y Die E-Kartusche kann nur einmal benutzt werden und muss dann durch eine neue
Helite E-Kartusche der gleichen Kapazität (60 GG) ausgetauscht werden.
y Es besteht die Möglichkeit, dass die Airbags während eines Sturzes beschädigt oder
durchstochen werden, wenn sie auf ein scharfkantiges Objekt treffen.
y Im Falle eines Unfall kann die E-Kartusche entfernt werden, um die Luft aus dem
Airbag schneller zu entlassen.
3. Sicherheitsvorkehrungen
ACHTUNG: Die Nichtbeachtung der Anweisungen kann zu Fehlfunktionen führen
oder die Wirksamkeit des Airbag-Systems beeinträchtigen.
y Achten Sie darauf, die richtige Größe des Airbag-Systems entsprechend Ihres
Körperbaus und der Größentabelle des Modells zu wählen (siehe Produktblatt in
der Bedienungsanleitung).
y Zum zusätzlichen Schutz muss der Benutzer eine Lederkombi mit Höcker,
Handschuhe und alle anderen Ausrüstungsgegenstände tragen, die beim Fahren
auf der Strecke verpflichtend sind.Bedienungsanleitung 27 y Wird ein Sturz vom System erkannt, bläst sich der Airbag im Bruchteil einer Sekunde automatisch auf. Dennoch muss der Nutzer sicherstellen, dass das Airbag-System vor dem Fahren eingeschaltet und korrekt aufgeladen ist. y Ein Airbag-System kann dem Motorradfahrer keine absolute Sicherheit garantieren, es bietet einen Etxraschutz. Das System schützt keine Körperstellen, die nicht vom Airbag umgeben sind. y Das Airbag-System bietet einen zusätzlichen Schutz, Sie müssen weiterhin die übliche Ausrüstung (Lederkombi, Handschuhe usw.) tragen. y Entfernen oder modifizieren Sie keine Teile des Airbags, des elektronischen Systems oder des Stoffes. y Nach einer Airbag-Auslösung dürfen Sie die E-Kartusche nur durch eine Helite E-Kartusche der gleichen Kapazität ersetzen (GG 60). y Vermeiden Sie scharfkantige Objekte in Ihren Taschen bevor Sie Ihr Helite Airbag- System nutzen. y Kontrollieren Sie vor jeder Benutzung, dass sich Ihr Airbag in einem einwandfreien Zustand befindet, d.h., dass keine Risse, Löcher oder sonstiger Verschleiß vorhanden sind. y Nähen Sie nichts auf die Weste und befestigen Sie nichts an ihr (weder auf dem Airbag noch auf dem Textil), da das Airbagsystem dabei zerstört werden kann und somit eine einwandfreie Funktion nicht mehr gewährleistet ist. y Bewahren Sie das Airbag-System außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern auf. y The driver must not be pregnant. Halten Sie die Weste von hohen Temperaturen (über 60°C) und Feuchtigkeit fern. y Die e-Turtle sollte nur in einem Temperaturbereich von -10 bis + 45°C genutzt werden. Wird das Airbag-System für eine längere Zeit Temperaturen unter -10 °C und über 45 °C ausgesetzt, kann die ordnungsgemäße Funktion des System beeinträchtigt werden. y Laden Sie die Airbag-Weste nicht in der Nähe von starken Hitzequellen (60°C) auf. y Waschen Sie die Airbag-Weste nicht in der Waschmaschine. y Tragen Sie keine zu engen Kleidungsstücke über der Weste (siehe S. 30). 4. Technische Beschreibung Die e-GP Air Airbag-Weste ist mit einem elektronischen System ausgestattet, welches einen Algorithmus enthält, der die Bewegungen des Fahrers analysiert. Wird eine anormale Bewegung, ein Sturz oder ein Unfall erkannt, so löst das System automatisch den Airbag aus. Bei einem Unfall ist der Airbag innerhalb von 60 ms ausgelöst.
28 Bedienungsanleitung
A. AUFPRALL- UND STURZ-ERKENNUNG
Das System erkennt Stürze ab einer Geschwindigkeit von 20km/h. Hier sind die
verschiedenen Situationen, die vom System erfasst werden:
- Motorrad, das von vorne, von der Seite oder von hinten auf ein erhebliches Hindernis
(Fahrzeug, Wand, Pfosten usw.) aufschlägt oder von einem solchen getroffen wird.
- Kontrollverlust über das Motorrad (ohne Aufprall auf das Motorrad): Auf der Seite
Ausrutschen, Sturz vom Motorrad oder High-Side.
Achtung: Der CDU-Sensor in der Weste reagiert empfindlich auf plötzliche
Körperbewegungen. Führen Sie nicht absichtlich Bewegungen aus, die für das
normale Motorradfahren nicht erforderlich sind.
B. LAUFZEIT
Die Weste hat im angeschalteten Zustand eine Laufzeit von 25 Stunden. Sie wechselt
automatisch in den Schlafmodus, wenn 45 Sekunden lang keine Bewegung erfasst
wurde. Zum Aufladen der Weste müssen Sie das mitgelieferte USB-Kabel verwenden,
das an eine 5V T.B.T.S.-Spannungsquelle angeschlossen ist. Es wird empfohlen, die
Weste jede Woche aufzuladen (siehe Seite 30 zum Aufladen der Weste).
C. DIE E-KARTUSCHE
Das Airbag-System wird mit einer neuen und einsatzbereiten E-Kartusche verkauft.
Sie darf nur einmal verwendet werden und muss nach jeder Auslösung ausgetauscht
werden. Wir raten dazu, 1 E-Kartusche als Ersatz griffbereit zu haben, um sie bei einem
Unfall direkt zu wechseln. Die E-Kartuschen sind auf unserer Webseite www.helite.de
zu bestellen oder bei unseren Fachhändlern zu erwerben.
ACHTUNG
y Die E-Kartuschen dürfen nur einmalig verwendet werden und müssen nach
jeder Auslösung ausgetauscht werden.
y Die E-Kartusche muss von Helite und in der richtigen Kapazität (GG 60) sein.
y Verbinden Sie niemals die E-Kartusche mit dem Kabel, bevor sie nicht vollständig
in den schwarzen Zylinder eingeschraubt wurde (siehe S. 32)
y Die E-Kartusche ist bei Temperaturen unter 60°C zu lagern und zu nutzen. Lassen
Sie z.B. keine vollen E-Kartuschen bei hohen Temperaturen im Auto liegen.
y Lassen Sie die E-Kartusche niemals fallen.
y Sollten Rost oder andere Korrosionsspuren auf der äußeren Hülle der
E-Kartusche auftreten, ersetzen Sie diese sofort und entsorgen Sie die
E-Kartusche. Schneiden Sie nicht in die E-Kartusche oder durchbohren diese.
y Werfen Sie die E-Kartusche nicht ins Feuer.
y Es ist wichtig, die E-Kartusche jährlich zu wiegen (siehe S. 33).
y Achten Sie darauf das Kabel beim Einschrauben nicht zu beschädigen (z.B. durch

5. Gebrauch der Weste
Die Weste ist autonom. Nach dem Einschalten arbeitet das elektronische System
automatisch und analysiert die Bewegung in Echtzeit. Es wechselt von selbst in den
Schlafmodus sobald 45 Sekunden lang keine Aktivität verzeichnet wurde.
A. AN- & AUSSCHALTEN DER WESTE
Siehe Schema 5.A. der schematischen Anleitung
Die Weste kann AN/AUSGESCHALTET werden, indem dreimal schnell auf den Knopf
gedrückt wird. Es ist nicht notwendig, die Weste jeden Tag auszuschalten.
Wann sollte ich die Weste ausschalten?
Es gibt Situationen, in denen Sie die Weste ausschalten müssen:
- Wenn Sie die Weste ungetragen bei einer Geschwindigkeit über 20 km/h transportieren
(z.B. in einem Auto).

B. TRAGEN DER WESTE
y Die Weste ist über der Motorradausrüstung zu tragen.
y Die Weste ist wasserfest. Sie können Sie auch ohne zusätzlichen Schutz bei Regen
oder Schnee nutzen.
ACHTUNG
y Personen, die einen Herzschrittmacher oder andere elektromedizinische Geräte
verwenden, sollten das System nicht benutzen. Das Risiko von Interferenzen mit
diesen Geräten ist nicht getestet worden.
y Personen, die an jeglicher Art von Rücken- und Nackenpathologie leiden oder
die kürzlich eine Bauch- oder Thoraxoperation hatten, sollten das System nicht
verwenden.
C. AUFLADEN DER WESTE
Die Weste hat im angeschalteten Zustand eine Akkulaufzeit von ca. 25 Stunden
(entspricht etwa einer Woche).

Sie können die Weste nutzen. Sie müssen die Weste aufladen.

Wie lade ich die Weste auf?
a) Öffnen Sie die Weste, indem Sie die Kletts lösen.
b) Schließen Sie das Ladegerät an dem entsprechenden Anschluss mithilfe des
Batteriesysmbols hinter dem Brustschutz an.
c) Ladezeit: ca. 3 Stunden
Um die Weste aufzuladen, müssen Sie das von Helite mitgelieferte USB-Kabel
nutzen. Nur das Kabel ist im Lieferumfang enhalten. Sie müssen dieses im
Anschluss an ein Standard USB-Ladegerät anschließen (5 Volt USB-Anschluss an
Ihrem PC oder an Ihrem Handy-Ladegerät).
Während des Ladevorgangs leuchtet eine orange LED. Die Ladezeit beträgt ca. 3
Stunden mit dem Helite enthaltenen USB-Kabel. Erscheint eine grüne LED, ist der
Ladevorgang beendet und Sie können die Weste wieder benutzen.
ACHTUNG
Laden Sie die Weste niemals auf, wenn Sie diese tragen. Laden Sie die Weste nicht
in der Nähe von entflammbaren Oberflächen oder Gegenständen auf.Bedienungsanleitung 31
D. LED-BESCHREIBUNG DER WESTE
Um zu wissen, ob das System ordnungsgemäß funktioniert, finden Sie hier die 4
verwendeten LED-Farben und ihre verschiedenen Bedeutungen:
Grüne LED: System
betriebsbereit
Orange LED: Akku
schwach
Rote LED: Problem
Keine LED: Weste aus
oder im Schlafmodus

E. REISEN MIT DEM AIRBAG-SYSTEM

Keine bestimmten Einschränkungen.
Vergessen Sie beim Nutzen dieser
Verkehrsmittel nicht, das System auszuschalten.

Es könnten Probleme mit dem Sicherheitsdienst bezüglich
der E-Kartuschen auftreten, welche zur Auslösung der Weste
nötig sind. Rechtlich betrachtet (IATA Regelung) sind Sie dazu
berechtigt im Passagierraum oder im Laderaum des Flugzeuges, !
2 E-Kartuschen mit an Bord zu nehmen (mit einem Volumen von
weniger als 200cc).
Auch wenn es rechtlich gesehen erlaubt ist, kann es dennoch sein, dass der
Sicherheitsdienst oder die Fluglinie es ablehnen, mit der E-Kartusche an Bord zu gehen.
Wir empfehlen Ihnen, die IATA-Regelung auszudrucken (auf helite.de „FAQ“ verfügbar)
und während der Kontrolle vorzuzeigen, wenn Sie um genauere Informationen
gebeten werden. In jedem Fall ist es der Sicherheitsdienst des Flughafens und die
Fluggesellschaft, die entscheiden, ob Sie mit der E-Kartusche fliegen dürfen oder nicht.
Im Flugzeug müssen Sie immer die Weste ausschalten und die E-Kartusche vom
