After a very intense year for the Music Chapel in 2015 – with both the opening of new infrastructure and the launch of a first
season of sixty on-site concerts (the MuCH season) – our institution is continuing its season with its 2016 Gala Concert at Bozar, in
the presence of our Honorary President, Her Majesty Queen Paola. This concert is an important moment in the life of the Chapel:
it brings together the partners, patrons and friends of the Chapel, and offers us an opportunity to share our project and ambitions
with our public.
This year, the concert is largely devoted to the concertante works of Lalo, a repertoire that the Chapel’s young soloists in residence
have just recorded with the Liège Royal Philharmonic (OPRL) on the label Alpha Classics (Outhere), our loyal partners in the project
to record the concertante repertoire (Vieuxtemps, Saint-Saëns and Lalo), on this occasion in co-edition with the Fondation Bru
Zane.
This evening, under the guidance of conductor Jean-Jacques Kantorow, you will (re)discover Max Bruch’s Double concerto for violin
and viola, an essentially romantic work that allows us to present to the Chapel audience, on the occasion of this Gala Concert, the
latest Master in residence to join our ranks, violist Miguel da Silva, who for thirty years was part of the Ysaÿe Quartet.
The Chapel’s mission of “transmission” and role as a laboratory for work, life and dissemination more than ever constitute the
essence of our institution. The masters in residence, teachers, guest artists and ensembles, associated artists, young soloists in
residence, but also the audience and music lovers are all the actors of this mission that is constantly being renewed.
This season we are delighted to welcome some sixty young artists in residence of twenty different nationalities and to propose a

constantly evolving artistic program. We also take pride in the almost 2000 concerts that have been programed since 2004.

Elina Buksha, violin Ori Epstein, cello
Born in Latvia in 1990, Elina Buksha is considered one of Latvia’s foremost up-and-coming violinists. Elina began playing the violin Born in Tel Aviv in 1993, Ori Epstein and his family moved to London where he studied at the Purcell School. Ori is a prizewinner

Le Fonds Baillet Latour, fondé en 1974 par le Comte Alfred de Baillet Latour, administrateur des Brasseries Artois de 1947 à 1980, a
pour objectif d’encourager les prestations à haute valeur humaine, au caractère principalement scientifique, académique, artistique
ou sportif. Le Fonds Baillet Latour est actif principalement dans les domaines suivants : la recherche médicale, le patrimoine
culturel belge, la formation universitaire et l’Olympisme. Le Fonds est heureux de son parrainage de jeunes musiciens talentueux
par l’octroi de 6 bourses permettant à ces jeunes artistes de poursuivre leurs études musicales dans le cadre exceptionnel de la
Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth sous la guidance de maîtres prestigieux. Par ses dons le Fonds a également permis l’achat de
pianos et autres instruments de musique mis à disposition des élèves de la Chapelle, leur assurant une formation musicale de
qualité. La Chapelle fournit un effort extraordinaire pour le développement de ces jeunes talents et leur participation dans des
ensembles prestigieux en Belgique et dans le monde. Aider à l’épanouissement de leur rêve, est un objectif dont le Fonds Baillet
Latour est particulièrement fier.

Het Fonds Baillet Latour werd in 1974 opgericht door Graaf Alfred de Baillet Latour, die van 1947 tot 1980 bestuurder was bij de
Artois Brouwerijen. Het Fonds heeft tot doel grote menselijke verwezenlijkingen in het bijzonder op wetenschappelijk, academisch,
artistiek of sportief gebied aan te moedigen. Het Fonds Baillet Latour is voornamelijk actief in de volgende domeinen: medische
onderzoek, Belgisch cultureel erfgoed, universitaire vorming en Olympisme. Het Fonds is verheugd met het peterschap van 6
talentvolle jonge musici die dankzij deze bijdrage hun muzikale studies kunnen verderzetten in het prachtig kader van de Muziekkapel
Koningin Elisabeth onder leiding van uitzonderlijke meesters. Piano’s en andere muziekinstrumenten zijn dankzij de donaties van
het Fonds aangekocht; deze verzekeren een kwalitatieve opleiding van de leerlingen van de Muziekkapel. De Muziekkapel levert
een buitengewone prestatie voor de ontwikkeling van deze jonge talenten en hun bijdrage in prestigieuze ensembles in België en
de wereld. Helpen aan de ontplooiing van jonge talenten en de vervulling van hun droom, is een doel waarop het Fonds Baillet

La Fondation Bernheim voit le jour en 1998 et poursuit les buts qui furent ceux de son créateur durant toute sa vie. Emile Bernheim, La Fondation Michael Guttman a pour but d’aider les jeunes musiciens dans le développement de leur carrière et de créer des

De Stichting Bernheim werd opgericht in 1998. Haar doelstellingen zijn deze die haar stichter gedurende zijn hele leven heeft
nagestreefd. Emile Bernheim, tijdens meer dan 50 jaar voorzitter van de Innovation-winkels, tot aan de fusie met de GB-keten
in 1974, was een bezield zakenman, een ondernemer met lef en een zorgvuldig beheerder die zich al heel snel onderscheidde
door zijn visie op de maatschappelijke rol van de onderneming. Als overtuigd Europeaan, bekommerd om het behoud van de
vrede in de wereld, stelde hij in al zijn streven altijd de mens centraal. De Stichting Bernheim is sinds 15 jaar actief in België en
heeft een sleutelrol gespeeld in de lancering van nieuwe projecten om ondernemingszin, een cultuur van vrede en burgerzin, de
roeping en de professionele vorming van jongeren, alsook cultuur als kans op ontplooiing, te stimuleren. In dat verband heeft ze
een belangrijke bijdrage geleverd aan opleiding en onderzoek, op academisch niveau, aan de ontwikkeling van instellingen en de
oprichting van verenigingen. Jongeren de nodige tools aanreiken om volledig ontplooide burgers te worden binnen de samenleving
vormt de rode draad van het tot nu toe geleverde werk. Dat ligt aan de kern van de herstructurering die de Stichting zich ten
doel stelt sinds 2015. Omdat Brussel zelf een jonge regio is in volle ontwikkeling, een derde van haar bevolking minder dan 25
jaar is, en de uitdaging eruit bestaat er een gezamenlijke toekomst te delen met respect voor ieder, heeft de Stichting Bernheim
besloten om van het Brusselse Gewest haar actieradius te maken voor 2015-2018. Haar doelstelling beoogt om er vernieuwende
en efficiënte voorzieningen te ondersteunen, waarbij aan jongeren tussen 12 en 25 jaar in Brussel de middelen worden geboden
om hun vaardigheden te ontwikkelen, toegang te hebben tot een kwaliteitsvolle opleiding, hun ondernemingszin te vergroten, hun
burgerzin aan te moedigen en drager te zijn van een levensproject.

développement, en donnant priorité à l’enfance et à la jeunesse. Elle en assure le suivi par un contact régulier avec les porteurs
de projets et des visites sur place. Sur base de son expertise et sa connaissance de terrain, garantes d’une utilisation optimale des
fonds, la Fondation Futur 21 initie des synergies pour des engagements philanthropiques en Belgique et ailleurs. Une dimension
sociale particulière est initiée à la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth depuis l’arrivée de Maria João Pires en 2012, et la création
d’Equinox et Partitura. Futur 21 ne pouvait manquer d’apporter son appui à une telle orientation parfaitement conforme à ses
objectifs !

De Fondation privée Futur 21 is een privéstichting die zich tot doel heeft gesteld educatieve, medische, humanitaire en
ontwikkelingsprojecten te ondersteunen, en zich daarbij specifiek richt op kinderen en jongeren. Om haar projecten te kunnen
opvolgen, onderhoudt de Fondation regelmatige contacten met de uitvoerders van de projecten en legt ze werkbezoeken ter
plaatse af. De Fondation heeft al heel wat expertise en terreinkennis opgedaan, waardoor de fondsen optimaal kunnen worden
aangewend. De stichting gaat dan ook nieuwe synergieën aan, zowel in België als in het buitenland, om filantropische initiatieven te
